i see a lot of myself in you, which is comforting. after an incredibly successful “gifted kid” era i begun flopping and panicking through the end of the highschool. i realized (recently) i never actually knew how to study at the first place. now here we are, after 3 years, i unfortunately ended up in a different degree than i wanted but i decided i’ll still try to get into med school. because it was always what i dreamed about. also, did i mention i’m recently getting an ADHD diagnosis as a 21 year old lol. sooo i’m going through a lot. life rn is confusing, and heavy but you’re such a huge inspiration to me in terms of what you’ve been going through and how openly + honestly you’ve been sharing those experiences. you often times give me hope and actual solutions about my current problems. i’m hoping to be able to get through those problems this year. thank you for being an inspiration to me. i admire you and your honesty makes my life better ❤

To me active recall doesn’t bore me as much as it causes me anxiety over how much Ive forgotten… it sets me back and it is definitely something I dread doing. However it has proven to be very effective, so it’s like a battle with my own self to do active recall.
Honestly i can definitely relate to this for SURE!
the key with active recall is ignoring the devastating ego death/realising that ego death is evidence you’re not wasting a second of your time studying stuff you already now
Bottom line is getting things wrong = learning
And if you’re not getting things wrong, you aren’t challenging yourself enough
@@FayeBate I REALLY needed to hear that. I will power through and watch my ego die I guess. I will update after my finals to let you know how it went. Thank you Faye.
UPDATE: I passed. In all my exams.
And Im not gonna lie I struggled a lot with the frustration of how much I’ve forgotten but this time around I continued studying through the tears and all. So glad I did 💗 Thank you Faye and good luck to all you got this 🩷🌸
this is so important 2:50 it sounds so simple and obvious, that it kept being ignored and forget.
faye ur vlogs really heals me mentally so thats why i alsways asked for it
I just LOVE your advice Faye, thank you so much!
Yes this is so on time! I’m transitioning from my PhD 🎓 to medical Postdoc this fall 😅 and definitely needed some inspo + tips for preparing for it over the summer (learning a new coding language and studying research papers) loved the video!! Thanks for sharing 😆
well done faze, im still in school and this will probably
help me allot
Came in a critical time, thanks a lot. You always motivate me❤
Happy to see a new video)❤
Can we get a whole video of your phone and iPad/MacBook setups for when you were in school? All the apps or extensions and such for what helped you study, did you keep social apps on your phone etc.? I’m thinking of going to PA school but I am a 28 year old mom of 3 boys and my attention span from all of the hormones and daily tasks is really getting ahead of me. I want so badly to do it but it feels out of reach at my age with my circumstances.
dont stress keep going lady!! I'm proud of you Mom.
I love the way you talk omg
You're literally my idol💕💕
recently i started using obsidian for note taking and it did wonders for me. When i started it first it wasn't pleasant but when i started building up my notes day by day - DANGG started loving it.

You are great. Thank you so much for this. I'm not a medical student but I wanna be like you darling. I am from Sri Lanka😊.
U r so relatable I lobe you
Honestly I never understood the whole Anki obsession med students on the west have. For me it seems impossible to fit like 900 pages of physiology into a deck.
it's because you're supposed to only create cards for information ***you must remember*** and stuff you often get wrong. creating a deck with too much information is pointless, so instead, study the subject, take practice exams and only then create cards off of what you got wrong, for example.
@@ana891 All of the 900 pages is a must remember lol, they ask everything in our oral exams. I've never seen anyone doing flashcards in my year, but ig each to their own
I’ve definitely found only doing flashcards based on questions I’ve got wrong has helped cut this number down massively! Because some things do stick easier than others
@@ana891thanks for this
i have my finals tomorrow , made thousands of timetables but couldn't follow through .. my head jst wouldn 't shut up for 2seconds and let me focus .. but anyw im gonna try again
Thanks for this xx
Teaching and Feynman's technique is soo underrated
Hey fayee. Wish you could've elaborated on studying beyond the curriculum, how exactly?
hey does anyone remember the collage app faye used to use?? it cut out the backgrounds automatically and made a rl pretty photo dump x
Thanks
i have my first alevel exam in less than 2 weeks and im so worried that i will fail. its also my resit as i didnt do well. i struggled with depression for 2 years. i know its my fault i didnt try both last year and this year. im trying to not think about the outcome and just try my best the next few weeks. i know there are many opportunities [apprenticeships, access courses, foundation years]. but im still scared of change and if i were to take another gap year or a foundation year i will be 2 years behind my peers and that scares me the most.
Everyone has their timeline, you can do this! Also not sure if your school is aware of your mental health, sometimes this grants extra time for you to do things ❤ you got this
@@KrumperFiokas thank you so much ❤️
Don’t panic about being behind. I followed the “usual” timeline of A-levels at 18 and degree straight afterwards. I didn’t enjoy my career and retrained in my 30s for a job I love. I know several other people who did the same. Under-25s are definitely not the only students in a university.
Hello Faye, What about studying 4hours daily consistently, is that enough in medical school?
I am giving my AS exams currently it due to undergoing two surgeries in one year I am not well prepared. Is it possible for me to get into medical if I don’t get all A’s? I really wanna know the answere
dont judge me wrong next one is vlog and around 50 min utes or more
Also can you teach us on 1. How your schedule was as a YT and medical school student
Also how you manage all the script writing, medicine, and a life?
With ADHD
Does is also work for humanity major such as History,Philosophy,English etc.
how old were you when you started med school?
So like am I not supposed to read
Türkçe altyazı plss 🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷 seni seviyorum askoo 💃💃💃💃
Let me see if I can add how! Sorry about that
@@FayeBate ama yine de seni seviyorum 🤍🤍
This was boring to watch, atleast for me. A little advice ,take it or not, try to add more texts and pictures rather than just sitting and talking. Otherwise, it was insightful.
HI FAYEE HOW ARE THINGSS 🤍🤍
HEY! They’re going on just busy busy busyyyy but not busy enough to come say heyyyy 🎀🎀
I have exams starting from June 24 and struggling, do you have any advice to help me not give up
(end of yr 12)
