Congrats on your new drill press!
Thank you!
You can never go wrong buying tools.
More of a fancy drill than a mill, which is exactly what you needed. I dig it for your application.
We mostly use it for the variable speed drill and the clamp down milling table. I'll address this in my next video.
@@simcoespring Yup. I can see exactly how it will fit into your operation. Set up some fixtures. Boom cranking out lift blocks.
Nice new Drill press
What's with the bright blue coveralls? Lmao 🤣
Fire Resistant coveralls. Keeps us safe. We don't actually pick the color
@@simcoespring ohhh I get it. I've never seen your videos before so I wasn't sure if I was missing something.
A nice, practical dual use machine. Well Done! Enjoy the videos and appreciate your time spent filming, editing and uploading.
New machine day! That drill/mill looks great and runs smooth.
New tool day is always a good day
NICE MACHINE!
Nice piece of equipment...best of luck with it.
You picked the right time for the delivery mate ... with our weather the past 2 weeks, ya . Happy for you, hopefully this earns its cost back soon eh :) Cheers .
Oooooooo shiny.
a nice new toy in the shop. 😉 Every time I see installation of new equipment I wonder about the electricity in US. Here in Germany every house has 3 phase at 230 V with at least 35 A, nowadays mostly 63 A. We don't need converters or something like that. 😊 All the best for your shop!! Dieter
Most places in town have access to 550 3 phase. Or at least 220 3 phase.
Here out in the country we only have 220 single phase.
550 would be so helpful, however insanely expensive for a small shop like mine to afford running it from the next town about 1.4km away.
Oh well. I'll make due with what we have here.
Nice machine!
You should have been more careful uncrating that machine. With the price of lumber these days, it might have been worth almost as much as your new mill/drill.
Muchas felicidades por su nuevo equipo disfrutelo
You will want to make a set of way covers, for the knee. They will keep the swarf out of the knee dovetails.
Best wishes from Northern Manitoba.
nice new bit of kit.
good for you buddy. well deserved keep up the hard work.
thanks. Gotta keep the parts rolling out of the shop.
Thought it was a mill at first. Drill press.
combination milling/drilling machine basic one
A lot faster to “mill” than to grind ❤️🏴☠️🎥💯👍🏻🇨🇦👌😎🔧
Get yourself a good keyless Albrecht chuck. You'll be kicking yourself for not doing it years ago.
Aww man, I want one. I bet mine is in worse shape than the one you tossed.
maybe. it might look pretty but almost everything is broken.
Are you guys part of the blue man group? An old bridge port milling machine would be the answer.
I looked into bridge port milling machines and I could only find ones that are 550 3 phase or 220 3 phase. Can't seem to find one that is 220 single phase. unless I bought a phase converter, but i don't know how that works.
@@simcoespring arotary phase converters work very well, a little inconvenient and cost a bit. Ive been running 2 of em for 35 years and absolutely no trouble.
How do keep from falling into the pit, nice machine dude
Easy. don't walk into the pit
Glad you got a new piece equipment you needed.
Just curious, do you use HSS or cobalt bits to drill spring leaves?
HSS, however then we crank them down to 130 RPM and if we drill more than 1 hole we use coolant.
The machine seems well built and should provide years of use. One question, if the table needs to be raised our lowered, won't you lose your X and Y locations?
yes it looks like that is true. up, down x and y are all linked together with one crank handle.
yes, but it doesnt look like that will worry him for what he is doing with it.
@@jackdawg4579 Whether it worry's him or not, the machine has a pretty nice X-Y table capable of some decent precision as long as you don't need to change the table height. If all he's doing is poking a hole through a piece of steel he'll be fine.
Sweet machine, but why not a Bridgeport?
I looked into Bridgeport and I couldn't get one in my area with the correct 220 single phase electricity.
Not sure what that cost, but I might've looked for a decent used Bridgeport instead.
Are you suppose raise the ring up so you can not accidentally drop the head?
Was waiting and waiting. Never happened.
not sure, never set up a drill press like this before. I'll look into this.
What size hammers do you use in the shop thanks
great question for a video. we mostly use 32oz ballpeen hammers. or 2lbs hammers.
2 Questions maybe more if I think of something
1. Why do you use Imperial measurements instead of Metric
2. Are you going to bolt this machine to the floor
we use imperial measurements for about 80-85% of the stuff we use because of the USA where most of the parts are made and engineered. Heck I could do a whole video on why metric is only on the surface and not really real when it comes to automotive.
I think my personal favorite is the
1.062" diameter pin that has a 33.5mm thread pattern that goes into a bushing that is 1 3/8" in diameter and fits in a 4" wide leaf spring. that is 26.25 x 26.25" long but takes a 110mm x 24mm Ubolt on a 20,000lbs axle but the truck is rated to carry 24 tonne
So ya, funny and confusing.
@@simcoespring I’m from Oklahoma so I’ll just use the imperial although the metric is just $$$ & cents penny and 10 $$ bill that’s all it is
Thank You Sir
Really - an electrician to wire up a plug?
Coughinsurancecoughoncameracough.
this is so absurd, you bought it to drill holes, you should have just gotten a fancy drill press and saved the money, since all you're doing with this baby mill is drill holes. even so much as not having a need to strap anything to the table.
oh, just wait for my setup in my next video. you'll see
@@simcoespring If I'm dissapointed I will write you a sternly written email telling you as much. You should be super dooper concerned about my opinion of you.
Never edit the stupid phone buzzer. Oh wait you didn’t.
oh I did. i turned it WAY down. it is an ear shaker
