    Jazz makes my brain cry…. Even more-so when they try to explain it like we can instantly recall a flat 5th or whatever. I need minimally 8 seconds in between every time you refer to a note as a degree of a scale.
    I love jazz and the concepts, but I have to take a nap every time I think I understand something.

      Just think of the degree in relation to the root, pattern-wise. A flat five will always be a half step below the fifth. You know, the fifth from when you play power chords,right?

      I appreciate the tone because I am able to hear the bass on my phone. As a “teaching tone” it’s great. I’m not sure how it would work in a band, would be fun to see

      @@submh0938 I hear a little reverb in there or some "air" ...great tone for cutting through for a solo and not sounding so dry
