I thought I was terrible at maths until I went to UK for my higher studies. Most Engineering students could not add 4 digit number mentally..or do many things I could do in India..and I was almost the last rank. Beggar in India became king in UK. :)
Op bro
Looks like I need to go UK but whoops Money problem
Thats what I found too. I am doing MBA course and man!!! Maths is the main issue in UK for many people.
😃😃😃😃🇮🇳👍
King bro😂😂😂
I scored 98 /100 in my high school.... And my maths teacher was like " good ... okay... But I was expecting 💯 from you" and that's 100% true
Wtf
Same here bro I secured 97 maths teacher was like ok it's good
Because there’s a room for improvisation and your teacher believed that you can achieve it
i scored 95/100
@@VikingPolaris me too I scored 100/100 in maths in my board exams
In western countries : why brain when we have calculator.
In India : why calculator when we have brain.
Full marks to our indian teachers who teach us maths in a Simplest way. A big thanks to all our indain Maths teachers. 👍🏻
Best teachers in the world
not allowing calculator in schools also helps to turn your brain into like a calculator, nowhere near calculator speed but at least we can manage without calculator and only that matters.

I was really good at Math.
As a matter of fact. I used to teach the whole class in 10th standard.
But I think all depends of your curiosity and practice.
Yea I think is a lot about practice and passion

Im an engineer. I think im good at math. In addition to working hard, some people have an innate mathematical ability. Other people, on the other hand, are more talented in verbal subjects such as literature and philosophy.
Plus being small kid you are asked such stuff so helps, stop it 😂 it's too much for views it's going out of control.
All of these questions actually reflect whether you are good at calculation or not. ( Although these questions were very easy ) . Being good at mathematics and being good at calculation are two different things. You need to ask questions from arithmetic, algebra, geometry to know if they are good at maths.
My grandfather never went to school , basically never did mathematics but he was extremely good at tables , calculation.
I am good at math but sometimes I do silly mistakes while calculation. I was capable of scoring 100 out 100 in mathematics but only because of silly mistakes I used to get marks around 90. I got 100 in board exam though.
100 in board exam dude what are you? Are u even human? Or are u from Bihar?
@@themysteriousgamer4950 Must definitely be from Bihar. Dude seems like he studied to break a mountain in half to get 100 in board! what a guy, most impressive
A lot of people who are good with quick calculations have a strong logical brain, if you give these people good teachers for higher level math, quite a lot of them will be good at it too. Those who are good at calculations have the strong logical foundation that they need to be good at coding and higher level math.

I got 93 out of 100 in maths in boards and I was embarrassed because I was easily expected to get 100 out of 100 in maths. I didn't showed my face to teacher and asked my parents to change the school out of embarrassment. I always used to get 100. I was among the top 10% scorer in maths Olympiad worldwide. I can literally do calculas in my mind.
That seriously happened with me too like the exact same thing
Bhai thoda aashirwad dede🙇
It is calculus. I don't think you can solve questions on calculus in your mind.
@@IndianArmy-fd1dn welp impossible things happen u know
@@IndianArmy-fd1dn There are easier ways to do calculas which is not same as regular calculas calculations. Any one from Hindi medium can tell you that. I was not from Hindi medium but my tutor was so I learnt both ways of doing things. Obviously you cannot do complex ones but many could still be easily done in your mind.
i will be honest maths is the only subject that helped me throughout schooling which brought my overall percentage to clear all those years. i would say i consider my math skills as 4 out of 10
Maths is a matter of prestige for us. My son aged 8 years, knows the tables upto 57 and is learning more day by day
I have been tutoring kids for a while now. I cannot understand why kids need to mug up tables .
I ask them to do the multiplication mentally by adding which many teachers discourage .
I feel in the longer run it proves better for the kids.
@ルシアン ローンダ not disagreeing with what you said , but i feel that there should be a limit to it, we should rather encourage children to come up with their way of doing problems.
This would encourage them to be more creative.
@@abhishekchoubey3669 Agreed. I remember as a kid my teachers did try to forcibly memorize tables upto 20 or something. I just don't that much brain power to memorize anything more than 7/8 things at a time. Instead i only mastered tables from 2 to 9 perfectly and then employed my decent visualisation skills to do any double digit arithmatic.
So to calculate stuff like 18², just do 8², 1² and 1x8 and visually place it in proper places to add it together after. You get the answer in almost the same time you recall your memory if you memorized it. ez.
I am a primary school teacher trust me that's a waste of his potential
My 2nd grade student can write 256 table by multiplying
Don't force them memorize things teach them how things work
@@JayaPrakash-vs5so It looks like it is waste but it helps in a great manner in solving maths problems in a very fast way. It also helps in brain boasting and keep its most area active as well as developing

Hahaha we’re sorry!

What does happen with most of us is our parent starts teaching number to us even before going to nursery classes and keep on teaching to us until they are running out of concept in maths and further they put more imphesize on maths and science through teachers to get admission in good college basically.
I was so bad in maths in my childhood ...till 9 grade but after that I worked hard on it... courtesy to one Bhaiya from Bihar who helped me enormously at each step ...today I am in final year of engineering hugely because of him...I consider myself very lucky to have him in that phase of life otherwise I don't know what I"ll be doing by now

Actually, we Indians practice so many mathematical problems that till we go to college for UG, we are very well versed with all this. This is very normal for us. The students who prepare for the IITJEE even know the squares till 40 and cubes till 30. Addition and subtraction are some things that we master till the age of 12 or 13.
Only if we can go

I love maths..I have ever failed in Maths.. whenever my parents asked me to do study, I always took maths book and started studying
i was topper of my class and always scored 100 in maths and in 10th standard i won a national mathematics olympiad and my teacher was super proud of me and had a confidence that I'll choose something to do with maths in my life, when i told him i wanted to take medicine for my future studies he was really sad and kinda disappointed with me that i didn't choose maths...so much that he didn't talk to me for whole two years of my 11 and 12th standard.
ps he was very friendly teacher so he was like a mentor and guide for all of us, he used to help us with real life problems too.. lol
I did so too. I love math but I love being a doctor. There is some math medicine too.. Medicine looks easier if you have trained your brain with math gym
i was topper in maths but i had my other friends too with me getting full marks.Out of 60 students minimum 4-5 will get full.
I am way too good when it comes to math. My tuition teacher had actually promised my mother that by the end of the class 9th he'll be getting more than 80 + and when I was done with my exams she was like madam you better take your son away else I would forget how to solve a numerical. Not saying that Indians are bad with math but at the same time exceptional cases like me do exist.

I'm Indian i great in math and my parents, friends, neighbours also good in math and my country also 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳♥
Maths was one of my least favorite subject early, but paying more attention and learning it which made me love maths
Well most of us learn Tables, square roots, and cube roots upto 20. So those questions are easy. But we do have many short cuts and tricks which make calculations fast.
U guys are really good, india rocks 👍🤗🤗
8:34 I'm an retired engineer so I'm no slouch at math. Cubes aren't too hard mentally, up to a point. You two know them better than you think with a few tricks. I know of finger counting in India & other countries which is a great way to teach it. There are people that actually have problems with math in all countries. Many countries in Asia have a culture of math being a basic skill. It is really a case of conceptual math being a forte' that the West excels at. But before there was Pythagoras, Euclid, and Archimedes in Greece, there were likely Asians that had worked it out before them. The concept of zero being a number would have been strange to the West & was brought trading with . . . India.
Pythagoras theorem and Fibonacci series was also used in India atleast a couple of centuries before Pythagoras and Fibonacci
Really interesting! Thank you!
@@krushna4181 Well, Fibonacci came much later. But I get the Italian connection you are making. 😀

Some grade 10 math question are:
1.Find the lengths of the arcs cut off from a circle of radius 12 cm by a
chord 12 cm long. Also, find the area of the minor segment.
[Take \pi=3.14 and \sqrt{3}=1.73.1
2.The radius of a circle with centre O is 7 cm. Two radii OA and OB are drawn at right angles to each other. Find the areas of minor and major segments.
Tbh I'm very good at maths, many of classmates and frnds are also very good at maths, I usually score above 96 out of 100 and also full 100 many times💪 India has high standard of maths for general public, be it 8n any stage of life 😌
😱😐
I prepared for CAT (admission exam for MBA) and a general simple mental maths(No calculator at my time) requirement to start preparation was the following. It seems difficult but its based on some basic number theory and is just about practice (For eg square of a 2 digit number ending in 5 like x5 is x*(x+1) 25, 25 --- 2*(2+1) 25 = 625, 95 ---- 9025). Response time expected in 1-5 secs :-
1. Multiplication of number any two digit upto high speed
2. 1-100 number squares
3. 1-25 numbers cubes
4. Divisibility by numbers (upto 25) or modulo operator
These formed the basic for attaining a decent score in the Exam. Remember this is not a technical exam but business administration, its an exam where all arts, commerce and social science students can compete and the selection where out of 230,000 only 4,300 are selected.
I would say the primary level STEM education is pretty competitative and solid in India. We lag behind in Graduation and Post Graduation level education.
These questions are really for us
An Indian student average in maths is better than a student good at maths anywhere across the world.
Well my lowest score in maths is 83 out of 100 and my "asian parents" be like - 'okay but it's not enough, do something good' and I was like - ' I got first place in whole class, do you want me to beat the teacher ?
I am sure this questions will be easy to answer for European as well,
Just that we Indians have that kind of surrounding that promotes the practice of numericals that's it
And as my experience I used score in mathematics more because I was very weak at remembering the theoretical knowledge
And as far as I know most of the engineering students are good at math because they don't have to remember all the theoretical knowledge to get good GPA
Yes I’m sure that they would be easier if we had to study a lot of math during school
This is stio very impressive tho
With these questions pretty good
Well I was also able to answer all questions being an Indian because all these calculations are somwhat common. Moreover, from High school to College we had to do so much of calculations that square root, cubic root of certain numbers are ingrained in our brain. Same goes for multiplication and division.
I think us being good in Math has to do a lot with our Math teachers. All our Math Teachers were really good. In all my years of education, I never once felt my Math teacher was not good.
Sometimes felt for other subjects 😂
I personally scored 99 out of 100 in Maths when I was in 10th. But I expected 100 out of 100. After result I cried because I wanted to equalize my elder brother's record.
ı love watchıng your channel 🤗
Lots of love
In Maths, calculation is not a only problem. The problem is to understand or memorise the concept, prove, formula and most difficult is questions like words problems which is very difficult to understand. Questions can be confuse like what want to say and how can be find out the answer, which concept, which formula will use.
Thanks for the reaction..

Am at 12th grade right now. And was surprised when i had a look at the harvard University's Calculus final paper for first year students, it was said that the average score for that test was 85% where as I could confidently score a 100% on that test and I am not even at college yet. So basically a lot of the stuff we study in 11th and 12th grade maths, chemistry and physics are stuff that are taught to western students in like University first year.
Unfortunately I had terrible math teachers throughout my educational life but i have my bestfriend now who is really good at math that helps me when i need to calculate .
Excellent ! Amazing! From India,
We do memorize squares of numbers upto 30... that is basic requirement for solving problems
Really happy to study maths ...those r too easy questions ...
As ik those were simple qsn ,most of indian schools has very very least capable math, physics, and all science teachers but they are good at how to do stuffs easily and force us to build out basement strong like doing basic calculations, arithmetics, algebra, and little calculus, we actually do many things using symmetrical calculations like perfect squares and cubes so they are memorized automatically in our mind ,not all of us are good at it when it comes to physics or chemistry , one's who r gud at english and some basic knowledge in stuffs related to tht subjects will do great otherwise most of them just memorize all things fot the exam and forgot aftrr the exams.
For those of the students who are weak in maths, i suggest try learning vedic maths. But first for every chapter clear the basic concepts throughly and then move to vedic maths.I improved my maths this way.Now i can do complex calculations and even memorised square root and cube root of numbers from 1 to 20

Aryabhatta, from India, was born in 476 AD invented the decimal system we use today because the roman numerals
was hard to calculate large numbers. He also invented 0 and negative numbers not in the roman numerals like I II III IV V VI ..
He also invented a pre-curser to calculus. The infinite power series.

I don't like mathematics but I took this subject to score well easily...maths not tough because there is many ways to solve a particular question..
I think the questions werent fair, instead kinda manipulative....In Indian schools till 12th grade since we are not allowed to use calculators in exams every kid memorises mathematic tables upto 20 atleast and upto 30 if they are going for STEM careers...also we had to memorise squares till 30 and cubes till 20...so cubes and squares are fairly easy for an Indian student because we have been memorising them for years since we have to because we use them so much in our exams
This is a very interesting explanation

I still remember my pastself memorizing the table till 20 ,was really a hard time.. 🥲🥲
That was just a basic mathematical addition and multiplication. Here in 10th standard class there is whole trignometry scetion and in science stream of 11th and 12th standard class the students are suddenly exposed to integration and differentiation in maths and modern physics. Initially, I found Math dull in college until I got to higher calculus at Univ of Wisconsin. There I was taught by a German Professor, Hr. Schwandt. When he taught differential equations, I was so excited by the beauty of what I had just learned. From there on, I could read some Math theorems like reading a good novel. Math describes this world in a unique language and its the language that's the barrier not what's presented.

It is just that in India we are not exposed to use calculators from a very young age even till our higher educations and we are made to practice heavy amounts of calculations in our early years of education (till class 4 or 5). In Indian education system, Mathematics is given a lot of importance. This however doesn't necessarily mean that every Indian is good at maths. It solely depends on the individual. That being said, compared to other countries we are given a lot more exposure in calculations and mathematics to such a point that sometimes even students pursuing Humanities can choose to study Higher Mathematics (not the one that is taught to science students but quite similar to it). I used to get around 95-100 in Mathematics till class 10th and now, I am pursuing Science Stream because it is my passion (not a burden of expectations put forth by the soceity). Maths is still my favourite subject but I do not consider myself to be excellent in it because what we are taught in schools and coachings is not the whole of Maths. It is such a huge subject with a great depth. It is nearly impossible to be perfect in Maths just like any other subject.
We Indians are good or bad future will decide for us tchau jai hind jai bharat

We solve mathematics , chemistry , physics numerical without calculator it is so simple for Indians naturally 😍😍
