the new generations of people - even though they're the generations of the future - are literally oblivious to anything and everything that we have grown up with. I'm a pretty calm and composed dude by nature, but whenever I engage in discussions with any person 15-20 years younger than me on topics that I have enjoyed and grown up with (football, music, JC, and movies in general) they are absolutely totally utterly disinterested in and/or oblivious to the subjects. Instead, they are glued to the smartphone's screen 24/7 and you can't capture their interest in the slightest if you don't mention facebook, youtube, or the word "app". It's just... it's infuriating, really. So much abnegation in being oblivious to anything that we have grown up with that it's mind boggling. And I'm pretty calm by nature, but my god, if I don't feel like hitting these zombies in the head with something :(
@vv vension I wasn't talking about the forgetting part. Forgetting stuff is normal and useful at times, but I was addressing the full ignorance of my favorite subjects by the younger generations. I am fully aware that each generation of people have their own things that they like and dislike, but when I have been a young kid in the 80s and 90s the craze of those years have been desktop computers in general, and video games in particular. I have grown up with those things being the craze of my generation, and those things have not been understood by older generations just like we don't understand the smartphone craze of younger generations. BUT... even so, despite of the generation gap I have still shown interest - yes, even at that young age - in things that the older generations have been crazy about (pets, nature, and outdoor activities in general, literature, etc). I would genuinely have interest in those things (even today I am a huge sucker for pets and nature) and discuss with them these subjects as they have interested me as much as computers and video games. Today's kids, however.... well, in my entourage anyway, and in the places I frequent, generally speaking... ZERO interest in any of my favorite music, favorite movies, football, and Jackie Chan. It's not that they forget about those things, it's that these topics don't interest them in the slightest, and that's when they have not totally NOT HEARD about my favorite things (AC Milan, Dire Straits, Jackie Chan, Bruce Willis, Van Damme, etc). TOTAL and UTTER OBLIVION to any of these things...
wise words from Sammo: "when I was a kid I used to bully everyone, and so I had no friends. That's why I value friendship. For that reason I don't care when my friends push me around as long as they're friends". Really wise words, practical words too because this is a life lesson. People with no friends will understand and relate to this the most
It’s impressive, but unfortunately because Jackie was only available for a short time for this particular film, it meant that they could not have the long, protracted takes that Jackie would normally have been doing during this period had he had more time.
Had this movie on VHS growing up and idk how many times I watched this and Snake in The Eagle's Shadow or every Bruce Lee flick... These were my equivalent to 'superheroes' even though I was also a comic book freak as a kid... Watching them makes me feel like I'm 10 again and all my loved ones that have passed on were still there, watching with me.... Kung Fu flicks were like Pokemon to me
Who else was impressed by the stuntman that fly backward and hitting the glass window, land on a concrete wall that look like a long trimmed bush, , bounce on it and land on the floor.
I was very impressed, most movies will only show them go out the window but watching the full motion was sastifying and effective, worth it for any stuntman injury
That's old school Hong Kong filming for you. Their budgets were really low so they couldn't afford any SFX or anything. Those stunts are all real and they had to get over any injuries because that was their job. If they're injured they're out of a job. They luckily wore pillows most of the time to cushion their falls. If you look again when he is thrown out the window you can tell he's got pillows because his sweater is bulkier than when he is grabbed at 2:24
@@PANZERFAUST90 Well it is definitely not a dummy but really that fall wouldn't have hurt at all. It's really just right at the end where he falls on the cement. He used the side of his face and his shoulder to land which is very common to do, and makes it look very painful but is very dangerous to do. The only problem with this kind of landing is any mistake in the execution could mean he would break his neck resulting in paralyzation or death. The stuntman probably came out fine but with this kind of fall you can't really tell if it hurt them or if they landed just right.
@@PANZERFAUST90 No it's all real. If you look at what he's wearing in his sweater, they are pillows. The wear pillows to cushion and absorb any hits. Still painful but not nearly as bad as if they weren't wearing any padding.
that dude is as big of a legend as JC, just not as popular. JC is my favorite actor on the entire planet and one of the strangers that I respect the most without ever meeting. but even so, I think he would have not been as popular had Sammo not existed. I have heard many people saying that many of the fight scenes in JC's movies have been fully coreographed by Sammo, and if that's the case.... well, the guy deserves as much appreciation and recognition as JC. Even if he'll never get it, for me he's still a living legend, and one of the most underrated actors and directors that I appreciate immensely
