I loved how this whole scenario played out and I’m very glad it wasn’t just a big boss battle against Palpatine where Anakin goes full on Goku mode and kills the Emperor and gets redeemed. This really felt like a character story and Anakin didn’t get off easy and the scene between him and Obi Wan was peak voice acting. Fantastic job mate.
Yeah, agreed. I don't see Anakin gong there and taking him out single handedly. They've done that in too many fanfics, already. Though I do see all three of them working together against Palpatine. Seems a waste for them to just hide, when they have a 3 to 1 advantage. Yoda just barely lost. With two others, he should have no problem winning.

Obi-Wan had a much deeper connection to Anakin than he did to Ahsoka.
@@ConcordiaJedi true but Anakin was also the only one that refused to abandon her. Between that and the whole "fake my death and pose as the bounty hunter that killed me" sting operation, Anakin has very legitimate reasons to no longer fully trust Obiwan.
@John A Anakin had a history of impulsive behavior and would constantly go behind the Council's back. Trust is a 2 way street. Anakin gave the Council very little reason to trust him with top secret info. Especially since he was so close to Palpatine who was getting involved in Jedi affairs.
@@ConcordiaJedi Oh Anakin and the Council never trusted each other, that was just a given. Mace would have been the first one to lead the charge to boot Anakin because he never liked him. It was never a matter of trust for Anakin versus the Council, it was whether Anakin could trust Obiwan specifically to have his back, even against that Council. And honestly, especially with Sidious whispering in his ear to feed his doubts, the track record wasn't great. Kenobi chose remaining with the Order over both Satine and Siri Tachi. He didn't want Qui-Gon to save Anakin in the first place. The whole "bounty hunter sting" again (which almost pushed Anakin for fall trying to AVENGE Obiwan), Ahsoka's trial, etc. He had every reason to think Obiwan would put the Order first because until the moment he saved Anakin in this AU, that's exactly what Obiwan always did.
The VA for Anakin did such a good job conveying the pain in his voice.

You're missing Ahsoka&Rex looking for Anakin after Order66. Maul might become an ally just to hurt Palpatine. Will the Inquisitor replace Vader as Palpy's new dark lord of the Sith. Yoda could had gone to Ossus instead of Dagobah. The planet's force presence is so messed up due to being hit by a supernova shockwave but survived. There's a lot of force sensitive survivors on the planet that forgot their Jedi training but still light side force users.

However, I do wonder why Sidious didn't factor into this at all. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for not having him make things worse and screw up even a "pseudo-happy" ending, but I'm surprised he wasn't even shown to not have found Anakin on Mustafar.
But either way, Wow! Great job whole way through!!
I had considered adding him into this part, but decided that it didn't really add much and I wanted the focus to be on Anakin and Obi-Wan

Maybe if (just if) you do decide to make a follow up, it might be interesting to see an in-story explanation or flashback for why Palpatine didn't show up to interfere. Like, in addition to his actual part that would be in that part of the story.
A final battle is needed for this story. Set when the twins are adults and trained. A march on Castle Inquizatorious, and a final push on the imperial palace... possibly a huge sacrifice like Starkiller in the first game.

I'm saying Anakin was impulsive, Arrogant, defied the council, and his acts during the war, even when heroic, were cause for concern. And his outburst and bein denied the rank of Mastwr showed he wasn't ready for the role. Add to that, The Council did not want Palpatine involved in Jedi affairs and Anakin was basically turning into Palpatine's surrogate within the Order.

This was so good, I absolutely the bitter sweet ending this had, you could practically feel the tension with how Anakin interacted with Obi-Wan on Polas Masa. I'm seriously hoping you make a part 2.
I feel this could definitely be a multi-part series. A wonderful beginning.
This is probably the best fan fiction ever written. Many fan fictions just plainly describe the stream of actions, devoid emotion or elaborating on a character's motivations - not realizing that a factual account of actions is among the least important things that make a great fan fiction. Most fan fictions don't even contain lines, because their writers lack the voice acting skills to read them aloud. Here the entire story basically just consists of well-acted lines - and it is the only thing that matters. You want to see the characters that you've come to know react in character to this alternate scenario. Nobody wants to see yet another plausible timeline of how Episode 4-6 could play out, unless one first addresses the new character dynamics obviously at play after slaughtering the entire Jedi temple. It is ultimately what gives rise to the choices of characters and fan fictions often make the mistake of just abstracting it away as something not important, describing at a high level in cold and factual manner what happens next. I suppose if this is continued, the focus needs to stay on the crimes Anakin committed, and maybe how Luke reacts to it. Maybe Anakin shuts himself of from the force in exile, vowing to never train Luke and Leia. When the day comes to throw them into adventure, the theme of Luke being a hopeless optimist combined with that he would think highly of his father, combined with Anakin dying before being able to tell him, could probably recreate a similar situation to Empire Strikes back. "Your Father never told you what happend to the Jedi. During the Purge." "The purge?"
If one doesn't center fan fictions around characters and their interactions, it has little reason to exist. This video gets this right to an extent I haven't seen before - writing lines that feel in character and describing actions with the eloquence of a novel. Keep it up!

Honestly this scene here is a great contrast to Anakin talking to Obi-Wan in "What if Yoda went to face Grevious". Although I love seeing this alternate path it still gives me the feels knowing how it could've still been so much better.
That being said I am very excited to see where you take this.
This should've been the real ending to ROTS. If Obi-Wan truly loved Anakin as a brother, then he wouldn't have left him to burn, he would've saved him. It's also a much better redemption arc for Anakin.
Hey Concordia Jedi, if you plan to make What If Obi-Wan saved Anakin on Mustafar? part 2, then that next episode in this what if story would be about how Darth Sideous Finds a new Sith Apprentice to Replace Anakin. I'm thinking this new Sith Apprentice should be Darth Malgus or Galen Marek AKA Starkiller, and I think that part 2 should play out in two ways. 1: Much like it did at the begining of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, but instead of Vader leading the invasion on Kashyyyk, it would be Sideous and the Inquisitors, after Sideous defeats Kento Marek and Discovers Starkiller, he would take him in as his new Sith Apprentice and train him in order to defeat Anakin and rule the Galaxy. 2: One of the Impiral scouts Discovers Darth Malgus frozen in Carbonite and is brought to Sideous where he would free him and Malgus would most likely join Sideous's cause in ruling the Galaxy through the empire and defeat the Jedi, I think that would happen because there is evidence that Sideous would have wanted Malgus as his Sith Apprentice should Vader have failed him.

A powerful tale of redemption. If only the movies would have followed this path. Poignant.
Part two of the story should be, 19 years later a fully trained Luke and Leia along with her father leave the rebellion and destroy the empire.

He should go to kashykk then he can find out about gungi being alive start recruiting jedi survivors quietly and give the bad batch a new mission to look for Jedi and bring them to him maybe even travel with the bad batch and bring cal and cere into the story somehow maybe have obi eventually recruit maul and make a temporary alliance he want’s sidious dead just as bad as them

If you look at it Yoda basically told him to let go of close friends and loved ones in ROTS. As for Obi-Wan when Anakin told him about the nightmares about his mother dying. Obi-Wan basically told him they’re just nightmares and to move on in Attack of the Clones. So when when Anakin was having the same nightmares of Padmé dying in Anakin’s mind if he were to tell Obi-Wan he would say the same thing just to get over it and move on. So when he went to Palpatine, he told Anakin alright we’ll find away to deal with the problem and telling Anakin what he wanted to hear.

I never normally comment on videos but felt compelled to - thoroughly enjoyed this and aside from Padme, the voice acting was brilliant
I couldn't get a hold of my normal Padme/Leia actress so I decided to go with AI.
sw theory did this and had palpatine somehow track them to polis masa and now that I think about it it really doesn't make much sense form him to be able to do that. they have to throw those things on the ship which he didn't do in the original why would that suddenly change if obi-wan rescued him? Also they have light speed so they wouldn't be able to catch them if he spotted them. I don't hate sw theory I just think his take on this was bad. regardless if he took in Matthew Stover detail about Palpatine's ship looming closer to them of not. I like your idea of him still evading the emperor regardless. You should also do one where Obi-wan put him out of his misery and force pushes Anakin in the lava river banks. Again have Obi-wan be able to get away and evade Palpatine which for whatever reason sw theory didn't do idk I think some details he gets are kinda out there and others not so much.
