Hey, Grace and Hiram, the next of kin should obviously be your partner. If you don't trust each other, then we can't call that a marriage. In today's society we should not put our parents as next of kin because after somebody has pass on even your dear parent they abandon your wife and children. My suggestion if don't trust your wife get a lawyer and put your children in you will or as next of kin if that lawyer is trustworthy he will follow up with your when they get right age I think from 18 years old. Your parents count them out when you are no more. God help our marriage.. Please our beloved husband's let your parents know that your wife comes first not just by saying but also through actions.
I think when it comes to giving parents money, you should also consider your wifes' parents too once in a while. About next of kin, as long as you have children the next of kin should your partner period. Incase a husband dies, most of these parents end up kicking away the wife juu ya property.
