Hey Rob, you should do a Corvette buyers guide by price. Like what to look for in the 10k, 15k, 20k, etc... Maybe tell people what mechanical issues to make sure have been done and by what miles? (when to do a timing belt/chain or whatever..) For those of us poor folks who will not be able to get into a C8 until 2035.
Chris Bautista that Doug tabbut doesn't know shit he was going for top notch cars n anybody would try to rip his punk ass off subscribe to car wizard and he'll be doing a buy this not that on vettes soon
Of course rabbit sold a 6 c4 Vette to a guy with one arm. I hope at least he has his right arm. Only Rabbit. Gotta love the man the myth the legend RABBIT.
A salesman on our lot would brag he could sell anybody any car. A husband and wife 65+ years old came in to buy a brand new 84 econo box Datsun. He asks me what car I want him to sell them. I had just finished detailing an 82 Corvette Stingray and I point to the car... an hour and a half later they drove it away !
Well this sounds good. I retired in 17, flew to Fla. and bought an LT4, with 50k miles. Bone stock air box to exhaust tips. Drove it 850 miles home. What a fun car to swap gears in.They were rated at 330, but all of them dyno higher. The 97 was debuting at 345hp ,so they didn't want to take away from the new model. I can tell you they have long legs. Cheers!
The first corvette i ever drove was an 84 with the 4 speed. I could not believe how “rifle bolt” the shifter was. Also how incredibly tight it was in the interior even down to the pedal box. Great cars!
He aint lyin about that traction control my buddy had a 04 z06 i was driving it one day got a little ballzy with it and turned off the traction control and went to down shift to 2nd punched it tires spinning through to 3rd next thing you know the car ended up doing a full 360 and hitting a curb well lucky he was gone on vacation for about 2 weeks in the bamahas well i fixed the damaged parts with new ones and never told him what happend till a year later and he wad laughing about it cause he did the same thing to my 95 cobra when i was working in texas
I was driving a customers 96 Vette in 97. I turned the traction control off and was drifting it around the parking lot of the car wash/detail shop I worked at. I ALMOST put that car in the lobby. Good times!
I just got a White 93 c4 with 77,000 miles on her! I’ve been driving it like crazy the last few days. I have a oil leak but I’m hopefully getting it fixed but it’s not to bad just gotta check the oil every other time you drive it. I really love it. Watching your old videos honestly inspired me to get one
Your bit on the lt1/lt4 engine and its characteristics were spot on. My first car was a 95 trans am and that horsepower rating doesn't seem like much on paper but that was one mean and angry 290...ive had ls1 and ls3 corvettes but they were not nearly as raw and thrilling as that slower tire roasting, rear-end wagging, vibratingly loud lt1
My favorite Corvette we ever had was a white 1993. The line in your corvette shopping video is spot on. The c4 corvette is the last purist sports car corvette. That one had 100,000 miles on it and had all the squeaks and rattles. It was an automatic and if you launched it from a stop and shifted manually, all of the dash lights would come on and then go off. Still by far by favorite car I ever cruised in. I wish I still had it.
I just got a white 93 C4 red interior with 77,000 miles. The roof and dashes rattle like crazy on gravel roads but don’t on pavement lol.Mine is an automatic as well. She leaks oil but runs and drives great. Get you another one one day man!
This video is why I ended up with my 1996 Comp Yellow LT-4 car (With 8500 Miles on the clock). I loved them when I was 18 and they were new and I wanted one in the worst way. But this video sealed it lol. Thanks Rabbit!
Somewhere I have, I believe it's a Motortrend magazine, with the 84 Vette on the cover, with the title "Car Of The Century"! Now that's pretty funny, for anyone who knows Vettes but I manage a Corvette repair, performance, and restoration shop, so that makes it even more hilarious! In the 22yrs I've been working there, we've had three cars catch fire while workin on em and all three were 84s, with their oh so awesome Cease Fire Injection... Go figure!
I appreciate the tips on your ideas about values and what is the next possible thing. Not a Corvette guy but I definitely heard you on traction control. Good to know if it's not your regular playground. Thanks for sharing
I was a young kid as we all were.......i crashed a 73 4 speed into the owner's garage before it was even mine........luckily I didn't hurt the car much.......i did buy the car and my dad fixed the guy's garage door.......Rabbit is right when he says these car's can hurt you.......i learned how to drive a stick in this car........one day I was driving the car around the block.......as I did on Sunday's........because the car was under non op because I couldn't afford the insurance........i popped the clutch in second coming around a corner to show off for a couple friends.......almost sent the car 180 into the curb........probably a good idea I didn't keep the car longer than I did........it probably would've killed me........
It’s crazy to think that back then that was a lot of power, Now adays there’s SUV’s that are making 400hp stock, My 335i is at 500hp possible 700 this summer. Daily driven,
I had a '96 LT4 until oil started leaking. They used silicone instead of gaskets for the distributor, water pump and oil pan that would dry out in about 3 years. $1200 back then to repair. I put that turd up for sale and never looked back. Chevy wouldn't stand behind it.....
@@rustedratchetgarage6788 actually my Stang is a 65 coupe so it's probably not the car I'll have my accident in lol. But I completely forgot about that joke when I posted my comment.
I bought a 1992 c4 conv. That lil traction control button has lead to quite a lot of work, for the body/paint shop side of our Corvette specialty business... Way too many times the boo boo has happened on the way home from one purchasing their first Vette!

Rabbit old buddy a car being from Hawaii is not a selling point, its an island in the middle of the pacific ocean. Rust is a major issue, the salt air is a killer. I had a 66 ford Fairlane there in 1970 and it already had spots where it was rusted bad enough to where you could put your finger threw a hole. I know vettes are fiberglass but, Underneath? the frame & such. Also, the C-4 is the least desirable of all the C,s To me anyway. Digital dash and no horsepower for starters.
I'm not a big fan of corvettes, but so far as I'm concerned, the C4 and up were the ruination of the brand. They look like shit. No cool factor. They could be a damn Datsun.

You need to watch the VinWiki video about Corvette owners. It’s all about how its basically impossible to buy a reasonably priced used Corvette.

'96 LT4 V8 with 330 hp, or a '99-'06 S54 (NA inline 6) with 333hp in the E46 M3? I had no idea the M3 was on par with the C4.
The M3 is really heavy........most European car's are.......the corvette is at least 500lbs lighter.......
