Reminds me of the sweet arrowroot pudding my mom made for me while growing up. So good for digestion!

3:15 This was a very Ina Garten moment :) If you can’t hand grind your own sesame seeds store bought tahini is just fine.

😂😂😂 I JOKE about that all the time. Oh gosh I'm so ashamed!!! -- I remember when I was younger and would watch her and she was like, well if you don't have a whole organic chicken and all these other fancy ingredients and make this whole stock by hand, then (begrudgingly) sure, sure you plebs. Buy the store chicken stock😂. WHAT HAVE I BECOME???!!!

@@EastMeetsKitchen I hesitate to mention Alton Brown’s condemning of “unitaskers” in the kitchen. :)

😬😬😬 oh geez. Guilty. I blame the Japanese. The minimalist zen vibe they give off has to be a lie. There's a bleeping unitasker tool for everything (and yet I want it still)

When I was last in Japan, shojin ryori kept me alive as there weren't many vegan options in 2015 😅

So if you can't get the special starch would corn starch "ruin" it taste or texture wise?

    No salt is needed?

No salt? Must be really bland. I do want to try this. Guess that the condiments would make the flavor. I would think a bit of miso would be good with it.

It's actually quite nice on its own too but yah condiments

In some buddhist temples they use a mix of dashi and water to make these. Otherwise, to some people who are more into 'taste' than 'texture' this gomadofu may seem bland and doesn't worth the efforts.
