I disagree, Drew has been taking shots at Punk for the entirety of the feud. They're in Chicago, he's not supposed to give them everything. If he did it downplays him showing up. It felt more real this way

I don't think he's being overshadowed. I think its similar to HHH/Bryan not overshadowing the WM XXX main event in a way that you have to get through The Rock to get to Reigns. Add the storyline wise Cody took back his main event spot. The Rock going this hard at Cody make sense. Reigns really can sit back being that he is a heel and let Rock do the dirty work and take Cody focus off him. Even with Seth its almost as he has to take a back seat in the tag match because Drew is lurking. I'm even wondering if he will do something in the Night 1 main event. It makes sense so I can give it the benefit of the doubt.

I disagree. This promo was hyped up for Punk. Chicago/Punk.. Yes they included Drew and Seth but the crowd tuned into this segment for Punk. And Punk is not obligated to give these two anything. Drew and Seth are already made men. They can take care of themselves. Punk knows that, Drew knows that, Seth knows that. Nobody in that ring needed to 'go easy' on anybody.
My big thing about the tag team match at Wrestlemania is it is hard for me to see Cody, Roman, or Seth being pinned the night before they are all in big title matches. So the Rock is the only one that makes sense but he is supposed to be the final boss so it would be weird for him to be pinned either. Its going to be so weird
I don’t believe in the narrative that they’re not building the night 2 main event. The whole premise of the tag match is to build the stipulation of the Title match. The Smackdown Promo was meh, but the moment of Cody showing he’s approaching this Mania differently was the takeaway. Roman snapped his fingers and Cody hit that uno reverse card

The Rock being back is very good for business. He is overshadowing Roman right now but I think The Rock just overshadows everyone and causes them to either raise their game (like Cena and Punk did on him) or drown. We saw last Smackdown what the build would be like without The Rock involved. He helps make this whole build more exciting. I think they can still salvage both Roman and Cody through this. As long as Cody goes over at Wrestlemania and Roman eventually goes over Rock next year, it makes both Cody and Roman look better after building Rock as this huge star they got over on
I'd wager the way they're going to play it is that there will be some sort of disagreement between Roman and Rock at WrestleMania, that will end up causing Cody to win the title. This "finishes the story", while protecting Roman at the same time, and sets up Roman vs. Rock down the line.

So Punk basically got most of his lick back in this one promo battle.

I think The Rock does overshadow Roman a bit, but i think that's bound to happen, they need to maximise the hype and you can't match Rock's charisma. I think it would be a bit samesies from last year with Roman-Cody and there is a risk of underwhelming. I could see Randy being there being better charisma wise too and making sense. I think the Seth involvement helps the Drew distraction angle, and it would pay off if there is a Seth & Rock double turn.
The Drew and Punk promo i liked because it felt off the cuff, like with the blood it helps with the 'we're so back vibe'. With both though, I'm hyped for Mania, who knows who turns and shows up.

Honestly to give mania the ending that satisfies the cody rock build and ends this roman story, I think cody needs to stack rock and roman to win the title.
Everything The Rock is right now is what Roman should've been in this run. The Rock is a monster, he messed Cody up more than Brock did.
I think the ending being Rock made people more ready to say “best ending ever” if it was Roman people would still say it but there’d be pushback from more people than we see now.
If Cena and Stone Cold make an appearance, they are 100% going to do a shot of both of them holding Cody’s hand up after he wins. Former faces of the company acknowledging the new face. It writes itself at this point lol.

Of course hes overshadowing Roman. The (2nd) Greatest of all time is back on a weekly basis after a decade away from being a performer. AND hes bringing the best parts of his past characters into this fued. It would literally be next to impossible not to be overshadowed by him.
Also so much is put into the tag match because it helps decide the story for the main event of Night 2. When Daniel Bryan was winning the belts at WM 30 so much of the promos and weekly shows was Bryan vs HHH. Its a deciding factor of both stories.

Here's what I think is going to happen. IF Cody is going to win, it has to be one of the biggest/craziest endings to a match, ever. It also has to come with the biggest pop. Like you said, it needs to be a clean win, but there's still going to be a bunch of shenanigans ringside. With that being said, I feel like the ending is going to be similar to when Mankind won the WWF title. DX at ringside going at it against the Corporation, and Stone Cold's music hits. He comes in, hits The Rock with a chair, and leaves the ring. Stone Cold still may or may not show up. However, I don't think anyone will hit Roman, and he'll go after The Rock instead. The Bloodline vs. the whole damn roster. Roman's going to look out, see that Cody has all this backup, his boys are getting their asses beat, and he realizes he's finally been defeated. Cody hits him with 3 Cross Rhodes and wins the match.
So alternate timeline - Punk vs Seth was happening, who would be Cody’s tag partner??

I still think the Cody Avengers are not touching Roman in the main event. They’ll absolutely destroy the rest of the Bloodline but Cody’s win will be as clean as it can be with all the interference. I would love for Rock to be setting Cody up for the Rock Bottom and then the glass shatters. Yes please!

24:00 I don't think Roman can get to the level of a Rock, Stone Cold, or Hogan. He just isn't around enough and he doesn't command a mic / audience like those others could.
36:00 Here's how I see it going down:
- Night 1: Rock and Roman win. I almost guarantee that it's Roman pinning Cody here.
- Night 2: Bloodline Rules in effect. Rock decides he's going to be the special guest referee. Eventually, a point will happen that SHOULD be a win for Cody, but the Rock either ignores / slow counts it and Roman kicks out. The Bloodline then come in, does their thing absolutely beating Cody down. Others come in and chase Jimmy and Solo out of the stadium. Roman hits Cody with the spear. Rock starts counting; 1, 2, ... and stops. Roman looks over at him and the Rock is just staring him down, hand hovering in the air, refusing to count the 3 count. The Rock and Roman get into a fight for a bit, Cody starts to recover. Eventually Cody grabs Roman, hits him with the Cross Rhodes and scores the pin.
That let's Cody win as clean as he can in the match, ties up a ton of loose ends of the "I'm stepping out of the way at Mania for my confidant. Never mind, I'm gonna do it after all!" stuff that happened. It allows the Rock to go back to being a face as he's just absolutely over with the crowd. It would also make sense story wise that the Rock and Cody have been working together the entire time and Cody was just willing to take a bloody beating to sell that they really were enemies. Lastly, it gives a reason for the Roman v Rock story to go forward. "We are brothers so we'll fight" is not a good story. "You betrayed me!" vs "I told you I was coming for the head of the table!" actually makes sense.
My whacky prediction. Austin comes back for Wrestlemania to support Cody against Rock.
There are only two guys in the history of the business of whom the Rock wont overshadow because they are equals; Austin and Hogan. Everyone else doesn't stand a chance.
The two teams that will make it will be New Catch Republic and Theory & Waller. AoP will cost Street Profits.

I feel like yall forgetting Drew's meant to be the heel so egging him on and getting him to beat him down woulda been a good idea for his development then on top of that drew saying pg brother was kinda stupid (like dude your the heel) why try be a good guy when your the heel of the feud in my opinion drew did the worst part of the promo

i cant believe yall went over stars that get big pops and didnt mention cm punk, the ONLY person post stone cold and rock who can even dream of matching their crowd reactions punk is definitely one of the biggest pop draws in history
Rock is absolutely overshadowing Roman. And it’s a problem because Roman with his legendary title reign feels like the least important factor in the rivalry heading into WM. Even Seth plays a stronger role now with the “can you fully trust Seth” angle. Even if Roman is a part-timer now, and Cody wins the belt at Mania, the end of his reign will be mainly remembered for the Rock.
CM Punk already said he won’t be impartial to be a special guest referee, so we can’t really complain here

Damn, if Punk could special ref, he could begrudgingly count the victory to Drew because Seth is already beat up from the tag match. Then, Priest could come cash in, with Punk still ref, and Punk could just not count for Priest because he wants Drew with the title so he can take it from him at Summerslam.
Cody will win clean in the sense that he wont win because of an advantage given to him by interference or a weapon. He'll win because the people who interfere on his behalf level the playing field so in the end it comes down to just Cody vs Roman
Imagine we get Bloodline rules and near the end of the match the Rock snaps his fingers and solo turns on Romen and gives Roman a spike and Rock gives Roman a Rock bottom to cost him the championship and Solo and Rock walk off.

if you dont want cm punk to get the upper hand on everything then have the other guys actually say some hard hitting stuff. why wouldnt he prove that he is far and away the best on the mic in there? this should be more of a criticism to the other two.
Cody can still win clean even with all those guys coming in, cause from where I see it, it would only be to even the ods and give Cody a fair chance taking out the Bloodline without even touching Roman, making everything come full circle about last years Mania
I wouldn't say Cody and roman's promo was so much underwhelming, but rather what else is there to do? They've had 4 interactions with each other since mania last year so there's not much that could've been said, hell this whole story here is really Cody v Rock and this mania match is just Cody getting his rematch. So the promo wasn't anything special because nun else could've been said about a match and plot we've seen literally one year ago😭😭
The entire storyline would be so boring without The Rock. Cody's promos have been underwhelming, Roman has got completely overshadowed by The Rock, and to this day I don't really get the reason behind Seth's inclusion. The only reason why I am heavily invested in all of this is because of 51 year old Dwayne Johnson. Fans are calling this the best wrestling has been in ages, which might be true, but I am genuinely not too confident that WWE knows what to do once this Mania chapter ends.

My original prediction was that Rock would betray Reigns on night two of WM. But because the Rock has been going so hard, I've started leaning the other way. Reigns drops the titles and blames Rock for it, because he was the one who riled up Rhodes and set a new fire in his belly. If Rock hadn't tried all his BS (stealing the match that Cody earned, slapping him, making him bleed, talking about his parents/wife/dog) then it would have 'just been another match against Cody'.
So, with this in his head, it turns Reigns against Rock. It can happen straight away or after time away, it could turn Reigns face but doesn't have to.
The whole thing of "No one can get as big a pop as the legends" argument is so old. When a lot of wrestling fans fantasy book these old ass dudes coming back and eat it up when/if they do, which is exactly what is happening with people wanting stone cold and cena in the main event and rock's whole reason for coming back instead of booking already established stars but yeah its definitely the wrestlers fault for not getting over 🙄
The rock being the biggest star is fine and honestly I’m enjoying what the rocks doing. If he wants to actually show up and perform unlike Roman then of course he’s gonna be a bigger draw
People want cody to win so bad, but man, if rock would stay a bit. Him with the title would be epic.
I think the day after Mania, Roman & The Rock disappear. I think there is no Cody/Roman for a year unless they want Saudi blood money. I think this is similar to what Vince did which was bring in these stars & I think there’s a drop off. The rock is bigger than any superstar, WWE & wrestling. So, I think that it’s a net negative. This is why Cody should have won last year & not interjecting in the middle of both major titles, imho.
