    Aboru Aboye Abosise,
    Thank you for your messages. Is it true that only a Babalawo can complete initiations? If so, why? Also what all is Iyanifa able to do?

    • @ObafemiO
      @ObafemiO  Рік тому +2

      Agbo ato o. Only babalawo can perform Ifa initiations. Apetebii play a particular role in Ifa initiations. Only Olorisa can perform orisa initiations. I hope this answers your question.

      there are many ways for you to be a useful devotee without being initiated. i would recommend that you read my book, the fundamentals of orisa lifestyle, to get a comprehensive overview of the tradition. you can get it at obafemio.com/publications. likewise, you will benefit from my course, intro to yoruba spirituality. you can enroll at obafemio.com/classes

      forget about being initiated. that is the best way to get scammed. focus on optimizing your natural gifts and talents. establish your devotional practice. then, if you're DESTINED to be initiated, it will come to pass.

    Am i too old to come to Ifa? ill be 60in a few months and i am far away from initiation, im just beginning my journey. Is it too late of me to come to Ifa?

    • @ObafemiO
      @ObafemiO  2 роки тому +2

      Ifa priesthood is unlikely at 60 but devotion is fully available. With the wisdom you have cultivated at this point, you could do well as a devotee who paved the way for younger devotees to become priests.

      …and that’s where I see myself, as a devotee. I’m coming to Ifa with the desire to teach, finish my studies and guide the young.

      yes, that is fine. the chief addresses that in the video as well.

    • @ObafemiO
      @ObafemiO  3 роки тому +5

      this is not a fearful question. it is a wise question. ifa says, when we awaken in the morning, we should teach one another wisdom and not lay the foundation of madness. whatever questions we have, we should discuss with one another. then, if we cannot come to a solution, we should consult ifa... that is the holy odu oturupon wonnifa.
