The fact that it’s possible to time travel into the future is just mind blowing to me. I just want to use time dilation to go into the future and see how advanced earth gets.
Though time travel is possible, traveling into the future would only be an approximation because it only takes the simplest thing to change the entire course of history. Just an opinion, not really a fact I don't think
@@dogsarebeast3453 when we use time dilation, in theory, we can say you can't return back after you've seen the future like in the movies. Since time only moved differently for you than those on earth
It's not possible. In either direction. Time doesn't exist. There's no traveling "through it" as if it's a substance or something. There's no "it" at all.

@@J040PL7 good question, this should be posted to lovers of time travel. In my opinion, (me being science follower and believer, but not physicist) time travel is utter nonsense
I think it's much simpler. It's never going to be a paradox. Time moves at the speed of light. That's why time stops if you travel at the speed of light. Even if you survive the round trip back to kill your grandfather and came back, the timeline you killed your grandfather is moving into its future at the same speed that your timeline you came back to is, and the two will never intercept. Wait 50 years and go back to that time line, you'll see you don't exist there and you had created an alternate timeline. If we ever discover anti graviton, the best we could do is visit either the past or the alternate timelines we have created.
there is NO such thing as a time paradox, or even say paradoxes, we are puny humans which experience time as Relative and a straight line, i garuntee there are higher beings or different "Dimensions" where time is warped, up down, backwards, accessible etc, like the movie Arrival, the aliens who visisted experience time different and can see in the future and past
Time doesn't exist. And time travel is incoherent. That's why you can barely scratch the surface of the idea without running into countless paradoxes and contradictions.

Yes and no. I THINK THAT if you started a time travel in a black hole, as an example, you would be only able to go to the future and go back to the time where you started the time travel. If traveled today, 30th of April and went to 2077, you would be only able to go back to 30th of April of 2021 because that’s the time where everything started.

Why does everyone discussing time travel ignore movement? There are two relevant movements to consider - 1. Nothing stays still or locked in position - planets have orbits, galaxies have orbits etc. 2. Expansion of the universe. These 2 movements mean that if we go back in time, nothing will be in the same place that the traveller started out - by many billions of miles. Time travel will therefore send us somewhere else entirely. The expansion of the universe is extra interesting because it only expands going forward in time - go backwards in time and it shrinks!

What I got from the going back in time is that you cannot change your own past enough so that you do not exist because you would not be able to reach the point of being able to go back in time to begin with. Unless of course you pretty much can hack that and just end your life at that moment if the change meets the point to where you decide to go back in time. Neighbor: "When u get back to Earth, those 5 minutes or so that you were gone.. that time lapsed faster on Earth." Me: "How much faster?" Neighbor: "I don't know, like maybe 5 hours .. perhaps 5 years .. not sure man, but that's how time dilation works. .. time slows down for you as your speed increases." Me: "Shit man.. that kinda pisses me off, because it kinda makes sense.. but it still kinda doesn't, u know?" Neighbor: "Einstein proved it on paper, man. .. It's a thing." Time-travel may not be possible in the manner we expect it. But we must look at technology and not ignore the nature of our physical environment. Perhaps the key is hidden in the latter.
I've said this before, the reason we can't go back in time is because things would have to be vacuumed in reverse and all items that's collected to make you would need to be collected as well as all things around that presents would have to be reversely collected too. When you do try to go back, Its like glue and will be pulled back to its resolve placement in current time, like a dream. Time is sticky, like gravity is magnetic like. To break its glue, you'd have to vacuum all possibilities and draw them in with you like a black hole that pulls light and matter to a singularity point. Then something would have to sort out the absolutions of all items and its placements. Very small matter that share a very similar make-up can just swap placement because it doesn't disrupt the continuem of time/space/logic and principals. Think of the cat in the box. The unknown can't flex its muscle so its free to bend/ relocate in the folds subbing its place with a simple replacement to keep the fabric whole. Its like being in water with a cup and moving that water to a different location in the same body of water with-in the waters same body.. Displacement isn't changed but the water has been moved. So what really changed but your logical knowing you did do it? So what changed in the water was the water but the place taken was by a similar form, so no gaps leaving an no obvious change. Like moving a fish from one tank to another. If the chemistry is perfect the fish only knows its not at the original point. Minus displacement and knowledge etc. To move you; again., all that food/air/water/etc that came to make you would have to be collected and brought in the present at the same time you left to filling your void as you go to the past. But once you're there all that, that made you currently would be missing in your now present. A leaf piece here, a dinosaur eye there, and collection of water and air/ light displacement/ energy, etc would all be gone as you showed up. And in your old present, those same random items of that collective past would be here in some type of you to be. Like a random dinosaurs ey etc or like your shadow but in many associated forms. And the backlash could cause many butterfly effects to be determined however. Can't go anywhere without leaving something behind and no man needs nothing. You could create a mirror image, like a video game but you've multiplied your factors and or doubled your existence. Which is not the same but a simulated past in the a present. Should make perfect sense. You blur out the faster you go forward leaving a trail. Just reverse that idea and that's back time traveling.
If the last has already happened, and you go back in time, the past becomes your future, and if you somehow go back to the future, the future won’t change because it was your past, and the past already happened. You can’t change the future, by time traveling you effectively create alternate realities
I've heard of 2 different theories in regards to time travel. Speed affects time, and gravity affects time. But what if these are both one and the same? Gravity is of course pulling us in a set direction, and everything is constantly moving. We understand speed and gravity as they're defined, but how do we know that the 'speed' has to actually involve moving? Gravity pulls us down to the Earth, but we aren't moving because we're on the ground. What if, to the laws of space/time, the force of us pushing against the Earth is regarded as both speed and gravity? To better explain, imagine being on the verge of being pulled into a black hole. You're right at the sweet spot where the force pulling you in is equal to your exit velocity, keeping you constantly at the same distance from the black hole at all times. You're moving, and also not moving, at the same time. You're being pulled in, but also pushing yourself away, and remaining still. This is probably something that holds no significance to the matter, but I found it interesting to think about. Anyways... The Earth is constantly rotating at an incredible speed, as well as orbiting the sun at an even more immense speed. The sun is also orbiting the black hole at the center of the Milky Way, and the Milky Way (i believe) is also moving throughout space. We're in a constant state of movement, no matter what. Which also makes me wonder, if speed affects time, then what would happen to something that is 100% still in space?
Time itself is only a concept and therefore it can't be traveled through or upon. That's all the understanding that is needed. Time travel is not possible because time does not physically exist. It's simply a man made concept used to measure daily occurrences.
All you have to do to travel to the past is travel from your location toward the source of light faster than the speed of light for some distance, then travel back to you're original location faster than the speed of light, but slower than than you traveled away. The fastest rate of change for matter is the same as the speed of light, the speed that light travels is the speed limit of the universe, which even time can not break.
Well yes but actually no, for an observer outside relative to u, u seem to age very slowly or even not aging at all. But from ur perspective u would seem to observe time go as it is.
The problem arises at the fact that if you are travelling at the speed of light or beyond it, light freezes for you. You cannot see anything around you and you might get stuck in time as you would not know when to decelerate. A solution proposed was to use a computer to decelerate you but the problem now arises is that if you are close to the computer, you warp time itself due to your speed for everything around you, hence rendering your calculations useless. Then there is also the fact that if you want to travel at or higher than the speed of light there are only 2 possible ways: 1. Warp travel which requires the use of reverse bosons(or anti matter) which are impossible to wield in the presence of matter. 2. Accelerate to light speed which is not possible too. As you speed up you require more and more energy and just as you hit the speed of light you need infinite energy. And that is not possible.
Photons do contain infinite energy and if we somehow were to develop technology to wield it, we can only travel as much. To prevent being squashes you must accelerate slowly and as you accelerate time slows(not stops but does slow down) and this decreases the amount of energy let out by a photon. So after a while the energy you get is no more infinite so you cant hit the speed of light.
@@khushbothra4805 what do your by light freezing. Lightspeed is a universal constant and will always be measured at the same speed regardless of your own

lots of what we have learned and what is now everyday common knowledge was once thought to be beyond our capacity. The only way to grow our knowledge as a human race is to continue to strive to understand everything even though that will be a goal never reached.
One Question :- If we time travel into the past or future, where will be end up. Like of I time travel 5 years back I would end up in space as the earth was not in these space coordinates 5 years ago. So we would need to time travel knowing the coordinates of earth in this space that too very precise as I don't want to fall from a height if I end up on earth or near earth orbit. Still there is one complexion, the time travel differently on different planets and even in different regions of space so I have to also synchronize the rate of time, since the universe is so big so there is a possibility that some other planet might have this same rate of time. However it would also mean the fabric of space time is morphed just like earth which also means that we can actually find new planets possibly habitable planets like earth through time travel. Ok, so my time machine consists of two different components :- a space coordinator which measures coordinates in space and a time rate identifier which measures the rate of time. Time travel would also Revolutionise the space travel as if we can identify the the rate of time on different planets we can time travel and get there almost instantly. No fear of time dilation.

Here's my thought on time travel. Let's say I travel 100 years in the past. The spot where I stood will have moved due to the ever expanding universe and how the earth rotates around the sun. So my thinking is I might move 5 ft forward, backward, side to side, up, down. How would that get calculated and where would I stand to be in that spot when I arrive? Or if there's an object where I should end up what happens then? Now do this to 1000 years forward. I might just end up off planet ain't no one got time for that!!!!
Scenarios like this are why it should be obvious to people that time travel is not just impossible, but an entirely incoherent idea. In fact, time itself is a pretty incoherent idea. Try to define, or even just describe time. Bet you can't.
It´s kind of strange to say it like that: we are trapped in the now, like Tyson said. I´d want to argue quite the opposit for clarity. "Now" is a very fluent thing and very much depending on "here" (as I´ll go into a little later, with a simple thought experiment). But also, "now" is relational if it is this moment (or the speed at which we are..) turning past into present. If one thing is traveling faster in time then it is only traveling faster in relation to another thing that can be said to be traveling slower in time and therefore going backwards in time in relation to the other thing. Both are always "time traveling". And this is a very normal state of affairs. From Einsteins general relativity you could argue that this kind of time-digression is the natural state of things for layers in any gravity well (or warped space) worth the name, like different heights on earth. There is quite a few zeptoseconds time digression between your head and toes within your lifetime and we live on quite happily and unencumbered.. It would seem that the "time is an illusion" guy has a VERY, very good point. But in that case.. all bets are of, right? Maybe something like movie timetravel with a push of the button or some sort of stargate will some day be possible? Well, do the math... Because time and space are "one thing" in a very practically important way, that people seem to forget about. Even if instant timetravel were possible, you´d have to take into consideration your "here".. Your position that is rotating around the earth at 0.4km per second, orbiting the sun at 30 km per second, 230km a second for our sun moving around the milkyway probably some other orbits in star-clusters and an estimated 73.3 kilometers per second for the general expansion of the galaxy (also you´d have to come up with a factor for how much the universe has expanded all those travelled distances in that second without falling into Zeno´s "illusion of motion" paradox in a kind of compound interest calculation at planck-times). This means traveling one second back would also mean traveling -at the very least- 340 km in an instant and probably WAY, WAY more.. But 340 km is enough.. There is a very good chance you´d end up 340 km underground or 340 km into outer space (which starts well and good at around 100km up, so you´d better bring a pickaxe AND a space suit) and only a very marginal chance you´d end up somewhere on the surface of earth low enough to survive the fall, but high enough not to be half-stuck in solid rock. The jaggedy circle of different heights on the surface of the earth intersecting the skin of the sphere of all possible positions within a 340km radius from your current position, where you could theoretically survive, means very little even if you would by some miracle manage to reach it. It really would be anybody´s guess at what speed you´d arrive, since you´d literally have to divide by zero to calculate it. Even if you were generous and divide by the plank time you´d arrive at more than 10 to the 50th times the speed of light after traveling only one second back.. From this simple thought experiment It seems math, logic and common sense aren´t on the side of potential timetravelers..
For all we know everyone would have time travel, went back to the past, and have always been part of events. Mabey crazy people on the street are just lost time travelers.
That's all time is, a real measurment of sequences that exist only in our collective minds. So when I say next week everyone knows when that is. Like we measure everything, time is a measurement so that we can coordinate ourselves and organize knowledge relative to the only time that is real, which is "now"
Three humans have traveled forward in time, albeit to a tiny degree. This occurred in 1970, when the crew of Apollo 13 whipped around the moon on a trajectory to head back to Earth as quickly as possible. Examination of the vehicles telemetry showed an aggregate time progression of 300 micro-seconds from Earth-bound humans.
Because we can relate to the past, history and what happened in it, altogether makes it more exciting to actually go back in time, and more entertaining to go forward in time. The future perhaps gives us better living standards but incompatible humans.
here's how I view time if you travel back in time, to the year 1960, you just deleted everything that comes afterward. if you killed your grandfather, you wouldn't be born. but you still exist in the year 1960.
Realistically, what was said in end game is as close to the possible truth there is to time travel. If you traveled back to 1960 and killed your grandfather then it wouldn't kill you because you had to been able to be born to arrive at that point in time. So when you killed your grandfather, it would have been after your grandmother became pregnant with your mother or father. Time works as a web of connected events in an endless stream of possibilities. You cannot stop what has already happened because the energy is forever flowing around us. We cannot control time but we can move with it. Forward or backwards is up to time not us. What is backwards to us could infact be the path time is taking us forward through the events of our own lives.
Time travel is impossible, not in and of itself, but especially for beings like us. We are organic, finite beings who are restricted within space and time. In order to jump from one page of a book to another you must first be outside of the book, encompass it (have access to all of it) and then flip the pages to whichever page you wish to land on. In order to rewind or fast forward through a voice/video recorder you must first "record", or have access to the whole recording (encompass it) for you to be able to do so. The book and the video/voice recorder have a limit. Time is limitless. What makes you think that your toy computers and organic-made machines which have to be maintained and updated regularly, can transport you throughout time (which is infinite) or give you control over it? In order to travel throughout time, you yourself would have to transcend time and space itself, encompass it (or have access to its "entire recording") and then travel to a particular moment. Okay, maybe machines are not capable of such feats, but what about cosmic technology (portals, wormholes etc...)? Again, this depends on your root perceptions of the world that surrounds you. This is where you atheists diverge on the matter, because according to you, there is no superpower hence no fixed fate, thereby leaving you to contemplate and speculate over matters which are eternally beyond your reach. May I remind you that we are small specs in this very large existence, a small fragment of which we refer to as "the observable universe".

If you could travel back in time, to stop a paradox you might also have to travel the equivalent amount through space. If you travelled back 10 years, you would exit the wormhole 10 light years away from where you entered. You couldn't possibly break causality then... could you?
Maybe they did n we have no clue. Maybe the technology of time travel prevents time travels from being allowed to let apother ppl know they r there in whtever time they travel to
Using the clock analogy by saying a clock will tick slower is exactly the type of misinformation about time that confuses things. A ticking clock does not truly represent the passage of time it merely represents our observation of a means by which we measure when we did something, while we're doing something or after it's done. Conceptually our perception of time in this manner means that it can only exist after it has past, because you can't measure it if it is yet to exist. By using a clock analogy people are mislead by picturing the future as the next second/minute/hour on a clock instead of the true nature of the relationship between spacetime and perception. To this end TIME carries 2 distinct definitions 1. the measurement of moments as they pass (Like on a clock or calendar) and 2. the yet to be fully understood theories that intertwine space (the all encompassing elastic soup of dark matter that is the universe) and the oceanic type currents of time that don't necessarily flow in one direction. It is this concept of multidimensional multidirectional time that makes it conceivable as it relates to the space in which or with which it exists. So we are limited currently by our perception of time as we measure it and/or we are living in a splintered branch from a timeline that was created by a change caused by a visitor from the future. It is my position that the instant someone arrives from the future a new branch of that timeline is created. This is caused by the specific frequency of a person's cellular vibration and rhythm conflicting with the same as what already exists or existed. The solution is to create a clone of a person and send the clone back. This is because even a clone will not have the same cellular vibration frequency and bio rhythms as the host from which it was cloned. For now this seems far fetched. I get that. But what if?
I don't know why people think like this but when you're using lightspeed to travel faster than time, it means: the flow of time around you is faster than them. You're aging faster. That doesn't mean you're going to end up in a future timeline. Cause unlike the fiction, the future hasn't happened yet (from your perspective). Similarly if you use two black holes you're effectively slowing down the flow of time around you. Therefore when you come back from it, you'll be nearly at the same age as you went in, but the universe around you would've aged a lot. This scenario actually makes traveling to the future happen, but it's permanent.
Bending a wormhole allows to time pass through the tunnel, but the wormholes are not sensitive to our eyes. If so,can time pass if the wormholes are sensitive to our eyes?
Now I know what to do with the 2 black holes in my backyard.

Yes and no. I THINK THAT if you started a time travel in a black hole, as an example, you would be only able to go to the future and go back to the time where you started the time travel.

In essence I think the question is if you are in the moment and can go back in time you are using the real life Control + z or undo function.

There are 4 ways to do backwards time travel:
1) Going FTL. May be possible if Tachyons end up being real & are able to be harnessed.
2) Being able to utilize the properties that higher dimensions offer.
3) Finding exotic matter that has a negative energy density. With this stuff you can do crazy things. Warp drive, stabilize wormholes, allow something like a probe to fly through the middle of a black hole & back out again without being crushed.

3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
How???
Time-travel may not be possible in the manner we expect it. But we must look at technology and not ignore the nature of our physical environment. Perhaps the key is hidden in the latter.
I'm dead if time travel is not possible
It truly will be.
Please specify the “two clocks”. It is an atomic clock used in GPS, international time distribution services and many more.
If the last has already happened, and you go back in time, the past becomes your future, and if you somehow go back to the future, the future won’t change because it was your past, and the past already happened. You can’t change the future, by time traveling you effectively create alternate realities
You just blew my mind.

Time travel truly an interesting concept. If only we had a better understanding of it.

Really though I have no idea, I just made all that shit up.

So theoretically if one could indefinitely travel at the speed of light one could possibly live forever??
Well yes but actually no, for an observer outside relative to u, u seem to age very slowly or even not aging at all. But from ur perspective u would seem to observe time go as it is.
The problem arises at the fact that if you are travelling at the speed of light or beyond it, light freezes for you. You cannot see anything around you and you might get stuck in time as you would not know when to decelerate.
A solution proposed was to use a computer to decelerate you but the problem now arises is that if you are close to the computer, you warp time itself due to your speed for everything around you, hence rendering your calculations useless.
Then there is also the fact that if you want to travel at or higher than the speed of light there are only 2 possible ways:
Lightspeed is a universal constant and will always be measured at the same speed regardless of your own
@@Rhovanion85 If you are moving at the speed of light, light freezes for you because you move with it. Meaning that it does not hit your retina, meaning that you cannot see.

I want to time travel back to the 80s - 90s
First I wanna go back to the 90s to see my grandparents again.

Time travel is impossible, but you can see the past with meditation techniques which are kept secret and requires hard work
Nah reaLly?
@bbh that’s what I’m saying
Not to mention the motion of the solar system itself through space. It’s some mind boggling shit
Perfectly agree with the last line spoken on this video 09:24 .
sadly i bet if time travel was true the government would probably not tell us it would be madness if everyone can time travel
For all we know everyone would have time travel, went back to the past, and have always been part of events.

what if "Time" is not an illusion but a real measure of sequences....
That's all time is, a real measurment of sequences that exist only in our collective minds. So when I say next week everyone knows when that is. Like we measure everything, time is a measurement so that we can coordinate ourselves and organize knowledge relative to the only time that is real, which is "now"
Measure of entropy
Three humans have traveled forward in time, albeit to a tiny degree. This occurred in 1970, when the crew of Apollo 13 whipped around the moon on a trajectory to head back to Earth as quickly as possible. Examination of the vehicles telemetry showed an aggregate time progression of 300 micro-seconds from Earth-bound humans.
Because we can relate to the past, history and what happened in it, altogether makes it more exciting to actually go back in time, and more entertaining to go forward in time. The future perhaps gives us better living standards but incompatible humans.
If all energy is never destroyed only transferred maybe one day all the signature of atoms could be collected,Identified,And then therefore revisited
I would love to travel back to 2013
Honesty, same
2013 was the year I put braces on my teeth for the first time when I was little. And it's going to be 10 years that I had braces on my teeth.
here's how I view time
if you travel back in time, to the year 1960, you just deleted everything that comes afterward. if you killed your grandfather, you wouldn't be born. but you still exist in the year 1960.
Paradox

Why would it? Memory is a function of nerves getting used to firing a certain way. If those physical changes were undone, couldnt it syand to reason that your whole body would de-age accordingly?
Paradoxes and contradictions like these arise because time travel is an incoherent idea. Like most incoherent ideas, many of the outcomes are equally incoherent.

what if time travellers were messing with the timeline and that's why we have mandela affects
If you could travel back in time, to stop a paradox you might also have to travel the equivalent amount through space. If you travelled back 10 years, you would exit the wormhole 10 light years away from where you entered. You couldn't possibly break causality then... could you?
Guys just remember if time travel was possible somebody would’ve came back in time already someone either from 100 years in the future or 1000
Maybe they did n we have no clue.
To this end TIME carries 2 distinct definitions
1. the measurement of moments as they pass (Like on a clock or calendar) and
2. the yet to be fully understood theories that intertwine space (the all encompassing elastic soup of dark matter that is the universe) and the oceanic type currents of time that don't necessarily flow in one direction.
Time is an illusion unless you think of it in this way. time and space are one in the same they are inseparable
How can we rupture it?
