I am a 65Yr old Pennsylvania man and I just want to thank Lisa Bluder for recruiting quality young ladies with class and making Iowa basketball an interest of mine. Iowa educational institutions are world class and so are the folks from Iowa. I have had the pleasure of working out there a few time in the past. 💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💯

What a coach! I like this lady. You can see how much she taught her players how to be better players and young adults. She has made her mark in life and sports. Hope she has a great retirement and gets to enjoy her son and trips with hubby

What a smart, positive, well-spoken woman, not to mention a great basketball coach. She said clearly that she is done as a coach, which is too bad, as the Fever have an awful coach and Caitlin is suffering under her and Caitlin and the organization could desperately benefit from what Coach Bluder could bring to that team.

For me in 1974 (I think) ...sitting across from Iowa Head Football Coach Bob Comming's secretary outside Coach's office (in the old Field House ) where I had an appointment to hear what I needed to work on (ahhhh, everything apparently) ..... and there was a woman sitting at a small desk against the wall ... big happy smile ...Scottish accent ......stood up and introduced herself as the new AD for women sports (Title IX)....her name was Christine Grant .... the only thing I remember about our conversation was her great passion for field hockey (which I had never heard of...field hockey? ...the sport is huge at Iowa now) ...... so over 50 years later ...to hear a retiring Lisa Bluder (approx. 900 wins later) talk about her career and her two new WNBA rookies - -Cait and Kate .... is just surreal. She retired at the perfect time ..... enjoy your retirement , Lisa.
I hope Coach Bluder will be a help to C.C. if C.C. and the WNBA prove not to be a good match . No fault of Caitlin but her presence is exposing the WNBA's dark side.

She is a class act and super talented coach! I hope thecWNBA brings her in as a consultant or commentator in some capacity in the future. An analyst? Anything. She is so relevant to the game and these new players that have made the league, relevant, period.

You know she is seeing whats going on with Caitlin and this interview was awhile ago I heard, she's not going to get better with the way she's being treated and she knows it, but she can't be honest on camera or else she will blow up on social media and espn and she doesn't want that

Bluder does not have the time to devote to being a WNBA HC. This interview reveals that she has all these plans away from being a coach. Spending time with family and going to Iowa games. She can consult, encourage and otherwise still be a mentor but ya'll can pretty much forget the Fever HC pipe dream.

Kate, Gabby, and Molly never got the credit they deserved. That little push in the back that ended Molly's career quite possibly cost them an NCAA title. Kate Martin will be a starter by next season. She's a defensive terror and a deadly shooter. She's bigger, stronger, tougher, and meaner than Caitlin. She's a big part of those 1144 assists Caitlin racked up at Iowa.
Lisa Bluder is the main reason Caitlin wasn’t prepared for the wnba.

Lisa would turn that program around in a heartbeat, AND I think the Fever are VERY INTERESTED in hiring her, and will pay her BIG BUCKS!!! What a highly intelligent individual!!! But I do not think she wants to coach a "failing" franchise live the Fever, Lisa has won so much, she would rather coach the Las Vegas Aces, a winning program!!!

Lisa makes a good point. The WNBA needs to change the pettiness and lack of professionalism in the WNBA.
Yes, there is hella talent in the WNBA, but the pettiness, jealousy, and ugliness are way over the top over the top.
If the Fever are smart they would hire her already due to basketball and marketing reasons.

Family first, but hopefully Lisa advises the Indiana Fever. Christie's solutions seem inadequate; Phil Handy should be hired to refine Caitlin's game like Hailey Van Lith's (she can afford it). Caitlin has no guidance until Herb Simon gets his act together and initiates sweeping changes to the organization. Until then Caitlin will continue floundering.
She is not floundering. 15.6 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists per game. 90% free throws. Doing well.

@@cortezforeverThat was three dimensions actually. They need a better coach with a more Caitlin-centric offense and 3 or 4 better players. But that is obvious. And trading for talent is tough because the Fever don't have much to offer. They should trade Caitlin for a minimum three players, which means it has to be a very good team to spare three for one.
TRANSLATION: CC and Kate Martin got drafted and Gabby Marshall graduated, the team is going to suck in all likelihood so imma retire before i get fired.
Coach, you would make a great impact as a coach's mentor. Every coach could stand to learn how to create relationships with players like you did. All the best to you in retirement!
