Did Mozart reference this?
It's almost as if this sonata pokes a little fun at the Germans. But Scarlatti wouldn't do that, would he.
I don't see this would, considering it's likely a late sonata of his and therefore he would have already been living in Iberia for quite some time. And this shares a lot in common with the rest of his Iberian inspired corpus. But what do I know
@@vitaminluke5597 He just seemed to be playing around a little with some fugue, chromatic, and counterpoint material; and started out with a melody (I think) from Bach.
First 5 notes reminds me of one of beethoven sonatas?
The theme is very similar to that of Mozart's Theme & variations movement in his 11th piano sonata
