Welcome to the Arise Cake Creations family. I'm so happy that you stopped by❤️ With practise, veining and wiring sugar flowers does get easier. Hopefully you will find a method that is comfortable for you🥰🤗
Your welcome❤️ The veining board does take some getting used. The sandwich method is great that the wire is trapped between the gumpaste with no problems. Thank you for sharing your preference🥰🤗
Thank you for showing these. I actually bought the veining board and had no clue how to actually use it properly. Now I'm gonna try all of your methods to see which one works best for me.
Hi Tracy, thank you, your welcome❤️ Here are a few tips for getting started with the veining board: 1. Place a small anti-slip mat under the board, this will stop it from dancing around when you roll the gumpaste. 2. Lightly rub a very small of vegetable shortening over the vein line and surrounding area of the board you are going to use. This helps keep the gumpaste in paste while you are rolling it. 3. It is very tempting to try to roll out lots of petals & leaves at once. However, I would recommend rolling the gumpaste over 1- 2 veining channels at a time rather than trying to use all 5 (or how many you have on your veining board). You will achieve a much more even roll of gumpaste doing a smaller number at a time. I hope this helps. I would love to know how you get on and which method works for you🤗🥰
@@AriseCakeCreations great ideas! Never thought about putting shortening on the board. I agree with you on only doing 1 at a time. I'm new at this and way too slow to do any more than that at one time. 😁
Hey, hello Susann!!! Great to hear from you❤️ Thank you for the lovely welcome back🎉 Glad you found this tutorial helpful, I'm so happy to share. Just seen your email, I will reply to you soon. Take care🥰🤗
Who’s better than you? NO ONE! I WAS having so much trouble with my leaves, and now I’m not thanks to you. This may be a weird request but when you are cutting wire can you say how long in needs to be and maybe give an idea of how much paste is good to use. Like the size of a golf ball or 6 grams. I seem to never have the right size and I’m counting the squares on your mat when you lay something down to see if I have enough. Thanks again!
I'm glad that my tutorial has helped you with your leaves. The length of your wire, is dependent upon how you will display your flowers or leaves in the end i.e. For a floral bouquet, you may want to keep the wire longer, if it is for flowers to be pushed into flower picks on a cake, then you could make the wire shorter. The general rule of thumb is it is better to have the wire slightly longer than you need, you can always cut it down if needed. I normally cut my wire down to lengths of half or three quarter. Regarding the size of gumpaste, it is again dependent on the size of the cutter you will use i.e. make sure that the gumpaste you roll out, will be big enough for the size of cutter you will use. This comes with practice, you will get used to judging it by eye. If you are adding gumpaste to the wire, any excess gumpaste can be pinched off. I hope this helps🌸🤗
