5:17 suspenders were verrry popular in “alt” indie/twee fashion during this time! I was 18 in 2010 for reference, and in various alt scenes and fashions at the time. So if you listened to Panic in the 2006-2010’s, liked the movie Juno, listened to Tegan and Sara, drank bad coffee at overpriced shops and saw shows with keyboards at said shops on Friday night, thrifted, pretended to play the harmonica/banjo/or ever popular ukulele, and wore thick rim glasses, you get it… you may have also worn suspenders, usually to hold up a skirt for some reason? Or polka dot skinny jeans. Usually with a Peter Pan collar shirt. Usually with maroon tights and flats. Very cute aesthetic actually and I liked it, but I was more into the metal/screamo/giant stretched ears scene during this time and unfortunately pretended I hated that aesthetic because I had to be super tough and hate everything so my super cool metal head friends wouldn’t perceive me as fake. 😐😑

Prevalent in my school, because any popular girl who wasn’t a Hollister beach girlie (even though we lived in the desert lol) was into twee. And for some reason all of the popular guys were wither crab core or Micheal Cera adjacent? Wild times.

I still have the black blazer!! And I will not let it go anytime soon. There were black jeggings that coordinated with it that I wore through. I have not found pants like that since and I am lost. Haha. Jaja.
