That is actually a design goal that stretches back to the original Monster Hunter. The developers wanted to make it clear that you _weren't_ fighting traditional enemies and bosses, but rather natural wildlife just going about its business. If its any consolation, you don't _have_ to kill the monsters (save for a few exceptions during the tutorial and the end-game) -- Capturing them is just as viable, if a little more costly.
Oh I don't doubt they can wreak havoc. It's like watching dangerous wildlife that gets too close to the towns. They're still too cute looking to just ruin their day like that.
TheChildofAuraReborn you could try Monster Hunter stories on 3ds, in that game you can tame the monsters as well as slay them. Though it has a more cartoony art style than the core games.
Can't wait for Generations Ultimate! I'm glad World brought a lot of new players, even if the sad negative of it are idiotic console wars. Play what you want, I personally enjoy the old formula a bit more, and it being for now on Switch has nothing to do with anything, but it seems like mentioning any preferences these days is a death sentence.
I learned that they did a collaboration with CDPR where Geralt himself comes to Astera and asks if you'd like to slay a monster with him. I haven't gotten to that part yet, but that sounds fun.
Man, the MH community has gotten so toxic over the past months. I understand why some are upset, cause it really shows their love and passion for these games. At the same time, there are people who ignore the flaws and say its a perfect experience, and their not wrong either. And with the "console wars" between Ps4/Xbox MH, and Nintendo MHs. Really doesnt help this fandom... Before all this arguing over, "Whats the best MH", or "MHW sux MHGU is better" (or other way around) the community was a nice helpful bunch. Willing to play and hang with others, making new friends, and helping them if needed or not. Now people seem to cant just chill and play their game for fun. (This doesnt apply to everyone) I just felt like rambling. Its a mess, but its how I feel in particular. Sorry for the long cheesy paragraph. If anyone even reads it.
Monster Huntress more people create more of a mess. I feel like more players equals more people and it just takes a couple of them to be loud and angry and it feels like millions are screaming. I never remember so many people complaining when 3 Ultimate, 4 ultimate and generation came out.
Sylas Grayson im not accusing names here. And pointimg them out doesnt help either, it just sparks more conflicts that people dont need. Its as simple as ignoring them and moving on. And yes i am replying to this, but this will be the only time. Megabakufun2 i know MHW is less community focused, but i was talking more of the community as a whole. MHW has nothing on the community, its the people.. its their decision if they want to communicate with others.
you got every monster right other then jagras. loved the video. this game is easily one of my favorite games of all time and i have about 500 hours in it and i have already beat everything in it but i still enjoy playing it.
Thats a really big statement. Ps4 has too many incredible titles . Best monster hunting game , yeah , it invented it so obviously . Best game in 2018 ? Yeah i really like it and hope it gets the game award (even tho it probably wont) but the best ps4 game EVER ? Nah , close but no
Finally Monster Hunter getting the big fanbase outside of Japan that it deserves! Still remember the good old days of Monster Hunter Freedom Unite! Anyone else?
My first Monster Hunter game was Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii--nunchuk and everything. I really enjoyed it and put a ton of hours into that game. I bought Monster Hunter World for my best friend (as I didn't own a PS4), and I ended up playing it more than he did. It's such a HUGE step forward for the series. I really loved no having loading zones. I can't wait until I save up enough money for Monster Hunter World on PC. Sure I COULD afford it now, but I have bills and such that come first. Maybe after a few more paychecks.
I was so happy to hear the monster Hunter World devs state exactly the thing I find lacking in open world games. "They focus on size rather than content" and chose to make use of everything in the environment!
MHW is certainly the best to jump into. It's quite the grind when it comes to getting certain equipment and weapons you have in mind. Not to mention playing on your own can take you longer, but if you signal for help, or even better, having friends that can help you in game, you'll have a blast.
3U was made for the 3DS and 3 was made for the PSP. They've had a few console ports but they've worn their portable DNA. This is the first time where they designed the game around only modern consoles and not portables. Even with GenU coming to switch, you can still feel, from having to load every area, to the graphics dating back to the PSP, that the series had been held back soemwhat by it
DYKG Extra: SBF member Patrick Boivin was critical on monster hunter's portable placement before world. Often stating that if it was on console it would feel much much better play compared to the PSP or 3Ds odd but manageable control schemes
@@maxpower5867 Ok I get what you're saying, but that's not how it's pronounced in game, doesn't matter that it sounds similar to how it's pronounced in a language, we're not talking about words we're talking about a "Name". Like Data says to Doctor Pulaski when she keeps saying his name wrong, he replies: "One is my name; the other is not"
Since the every monster name has a cultural and grammatical origin I think it would be correct to follow that origin But who cares, they're just some running meat to hunt and transform into armory and weapons
I have no idea, I never liked them either. I can only assume that, according to the ones wanting the change, it breathes new life into the game if quests are only temporary... Probably... Then again, a common complaint about previous entries in the series was how nonsensical it was that quests used to cycle every round, that it only wasted time. My best guess is that for normies that breathe in air instead of MonHun, the limited time events give them "a sense of urgency" fuelling their motivation to boot up the console and play MonHun again, since they could miss out on certain collab-based gear that may not come again soon.
Have a best soundtrack ✔️ Have good graphic✔️ Monster can fight each other✔️ Ez to learn gameplay✔️ But this game miss one important thing No iconic animation after consume the consumable item❌❌❌❌
Definitely a contender for game of the year! Lots of excellent games this year too so this is gonna be tough to judge. Whoever gets that title though, MHW is an excellent game which deserves the highest praises.
Omar Vargas I respectfully disagree. Sadly the structure of the game manages to kill most of my joy. Being stuck with 7 monsters 3 of which are just punching bags simply because all is now tied to the story isn't my idea of a hunting game. It's also not challenging enough so far. Heck in older games I suck at gunning. In World? Not a single hunt took more than 15-16 minutes and I barely even carted, all with Bowgun at hand. Feels... Wrong.
StealthMaster86 I completely agree with you I play the game solo a lot and sure would like to be able to pause it when something is knocking at my door or my dog is threatening to throw up on something. Nope I just got to scream and run in the game to try and work back to Camp so I can go do something for 15 seconds without dying because the game decided not to have a pause function somebody said you can suspend the application and it will do the same thing but there's no button to do that on Playstation you have to go and open up another app like the store or UA-cam I think, I've never done it
Been gaming for over 20 years... MHW is my favorite game I’ve ever played. Totally new to the series and hooked. Only issues I have are with the endgame, the grind gets really ridiculous. But I didn’t hit that until after 80 hrs in, so I can’t complain on value. Hope they get Iceborne to PC this year!!
As beautiful and smooth world is, MH4U still takes the cake as the best in terms of overall content. I hated the trickled down content of World and the addition of timed events and optional dlcs. I just want to play solo and do everything in my own pace and dont worry about timed events or being charged for cosmetics.
Towerbooks3192 charged for cosmetic? Oh the emotes. You can solo everything man.i did it easelly. 50 minutes is a lot. Plus if you just need to gather you can go on expedition.
Kefka Palazzo I just hate how the game is structured. The trickled down content and whatnot. Ain't gonna diss any of the new kids going in it but I guess an old hunter like me just prefers the classic structure. I really tried to like world but I just cant. Soloing isnt an issue for me I guess. I managed to get through MHFU G-rank and beat Ukanlos so I am no stranger to difficulty.
Towerbooks3192 4U is probably one of my favorites in the series, I liked generations for doing something different but going back to 4U just feels like the perfect balance between old and new lol if monster hunter world had more content like 4U people would probably still barley be getting to G rank
Ah yes the horrid camera controls and akward control scheme not fit for a 3ds. Say what you will about world but its never going to have as much monsters or overall content as 4u or generations because there main focus wasn't monsters. It was the beautiful and rich environment that makes world feel like a.. well a world instead of a bunch of zones split up through loading screens.
I really hate these ''dumbed down'' comments from the elitist MH fans. MHW is using the power of Next gen consoles thus many archaic design made for the lack of power thanks to hardware have been corrected. Just because the community made a meme of each issue such as unfair hitbox or grew to tolerate them doesn't mean they were ok.
I'm an old player of the series, and while I feel they did make it easier in some areas, they made up for it by making other areas of the game more difficult, so that new players don't call it dark souls and so that old players don't call it too easy
The thing I like the most about monster Hunter vets is how easy they say the game is and still get bodied by tempered kirin at hr49,coz kirin didn't exist till world eh?🤔 I fought this,I fought that, and after all that u still gotta cart on an easy game? Behemoth is a God send and a reality check to all those "vets" that keeps on saying about how hard previous games are and still cart.. Yeah I get it,mistakes are sometimes made..we're only human, but please, don't try and say how it's watered down for casuals when you're so hardcore but still cart on a game for casuals..
Lemme guess, apex rajang, etc etc this game is easy, dies on behemoth?🤔 Sure..its easy..😅 Or maybe, just maybe~you got used to the better QOL and it feels easier die to the things u could do now,at least we don't need to mark a monster anymore,or standing still for potions,it's the little things that makes it seem easier,oh..what bout that radial menu.. Those may make it seem easier, but you gotta admit,it's things I didn't know I wanted on a mh game.. It like all other monster hunter game, get to know the monster and everything is easy, that's why people die alot on behemoth's release but got so much better after a couple days.. You just got conditioned to the game,it ain't "easy" or no vets should ever faint in world after successfully defeating apex monsters..
sure you don't..coz hiding a loadscreen away to heal is harder..maybe you're just not used to being able to move while using potions.. somehow learning a monster's movement and attacks aint part of the reason the game seems easier..sure..arch teo carts the first day it was released and the solo runs the 2nd day..what about those solo behemoth runs?why was there no solo runs right off the bat? im expecting acrh kushala carts too, even though kushala has been in previous game, and people uploading ther solos and TA a little after its release.. in all monster hunter games it always has, always will be,learn the movements, attack patterns, and kick new monster's ass..always has, always will be..it's just a matter of learning the monster..if it was easy, there will be no lesrning curve to whatever the devs throw at you,be it arch tempered monsters or behemoth..

Oh I don't doubt they can wreak havoc. It's like watching dangerous wildlife that gets too close to the towns.
They're still too cute looking to just ruin their day like that.
@Ice Bear
Actually in World you're studying it and then releasing it to study some more.
TheChildofAuraReborn you could try Monster Hunter stories on 3ds, in that game you can tame the monsters as well as slay them. Though it has a more cartoony art style than the core games.
fight the bat for 5 minutes and you will want it dead cause it will annoy you
Monster hunter world *Including Dante from the devil may cry series*
The Lich King in Monster Hunter?!?!
I need new pants
right at the ending card, i straight up thought he was gonna say there was something about shrek in MHW XD
Ah yes, the large Jorgrus, my favorite monster
When you hunt monsters, what is your companion?
A Child with a gun
Kratos and boi or hunter and katboi?
Great JARGAS? I think you mean JAGRAS.
DCGR10G thank you I thought the same thing
Can't wait for Generations Ultimate! I'm glad World brought a lot of new players, even if the sad negative of it are idiotic console wars. Play what you want, I personally enjoy the old formula a bit more, and it being for now on Switch has nothing to do with anything, but it seems like mentioning any preferences these days is a death sentence.
I agree with this so much.
GenU is so far gone from the "old formula"
Sylas Grayson not that far as World though
I loved reading comments like "monster hunter belongs on playstation" and then tell them them sony is the reason monster hunter went to the wii.
i would wish people would be more critical about world tbh
I learned that they did a collaboration with CDPR where Geralt himself comes to Astera and asks if you'd like to slay a monster with him.
I haven't gotten to that part yet, but that sounds fun.
That was waaaay cooler than all the behemoth thing
Im glad mh came out of its mobile phase. Monster hunter looks incredible on next gen.
Unidentifed Flying Object It's going to swoop right back in though.
Yeah but I miss portability so I play XX more than World
“Lootboxes and microtransactions were ruled out completely.”
Thank GOD!!!
I don't think he pronounced a single name correctly.
great 'jargas'. 'lagy acrus' 'alloy' 'square EN ix'
Luck is Me "Nerj itgante" "Legg ee ana" and isn't pukei pukei supposed to be pronounced "puke ay puke ay"?
There are multiple ways to say a monster's name, but Jargas tho
Lagiacrus is actually pronounced as he said, but I've always said Luh-gee-a-cris
@@lucineazure4614 lol the MH language and Japanese language prounce it as Ner-gee-gan-te
I will say it’s been a while since I seen “10” damage 😂😂
I see it a lot, but that's because I use triple-shot Pierce 2 on LBG. So it's 10 damage 60 times.
Why does everyone have such difficulty pronouncing something as simple as "Jagras"?
Bass Player Taylor You should've heard people try to pronounce Tigrex, Lagiacrus, or Ceadeus lol
He’s the only person I’ve ever heard mispronounce Jagras tho
I was waiting for this video eagerly. *Sound the Hunting Horn!*
7:45 "first monster hunter to be released on consoles since 2009".........yep i remember playing monster hunter 3 ultimate on my wiiu in 2009
crazyBloodmonkey or any version of Frontier on Xbox and ps4
I’m pretty sure they were taking about tri. 3U was remastered for the Wiiu. (Originally for the 3DS) sooooo, 3U doesn’t count.
Haha if i could get a handle on the swimming id play more 3u on 3ds. I know its got a cult following... Same with the psp games.
Can’t wait to watch my favorite UA-camr Pro Jared!
“It’s wings were designed like a plane”
Valstrax:Am I a joke to you?
The Sonic Explorer Valstrax was a Jet Plane.
This one was probably a biplane or something
Leonopteryx, and Banshee: Are We a Joke to You?
I haven't played any of the Monster Hunter games, but I've got mad respect for Ryozo Tsujimoto.
(This doesnt apply to everyone)
I just felt like rambling.
MHW is less community focused
Thank people like Megabakufun2 for being toxic pretentious fucks.
MHW has nothing on the community, its the people.. its their decision if they want to communicate with others.
i go in a room in MHG i get greeted but in MHW when i say hi the other 15 say nothing. That is sad.
BIRD UP!
TIME TO DELIVER A PIZZA-BALL
It's time for Snail Down, the best television show on television!
🐌⬇️
DUN DUN DUN!
Are you lonely? Yes, I’m lonely.
I haven't gotten a chance to play World yet. I hope I pronounced all the names right!!
Furst you made a video about world without having played it?
Erm...ok.
Well you got pretty much everything right except for Jagras. Enjoy the game when you get a chance to play it!
Loved your video! Always great to see more work from you.
you got every monster right other then jagras. loved the video. this game is easily one of my favorite games of all time and i have about 500 hours in it and i have already beat everything in it but i still enjoy playing it.
I mean he just narrates it, he doesn't write the script
I'm really sad that Lagiacrus never made it in. One of my favorite monsters for sure.
Probably one of the best games in 2018 and the best PS4 game ever.
Lol! its not even the best monster RPG game! (that being Dragons Dogma)
Artie Knight YT have you played bloodborne?
lol
Thats a really big statement. Ps4 has too many incredible titles . Best monster hunting game , yeah , it invented it so obviously . Best game in 2018 ? Yeah i really like it and hope it gets the game award (even tho it probably wont) but the best ps4 game EVER ? Nah , close but no
God of War? Spiderman? The Last of Us part 2?
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate came out on the Wii U in 2012 and Monster Hunter Frontier G started on PC and Wii U in 2013.
Monster Hunter 3 u was a port of the 3ds game which was in turn an updated version of 3 and he stated first by that team not first PC monster hunter.
"Great Jargas." Yup, this is a DYKG video alright.
His vision created a fantastic game, and a vast improvement in the series.
"Hey partner!"
Thinking of it as an accordion flower makes me appreciate the Pukei Pukei a lot more. Interesting video.
Little did he know ProJared had a dark side to him.......
Turns out the true darkness was cancel culture on the internet.
I was so happy to hear the monster Hunter World devs state exactly the thing I find lacking in open world games. "They focus on size rather than content" and chose to make use of everything in the environment!
No mention of the recent SMASH BROS ULTIMATE cameo appearance nor the Marvel vs Capcom Infinite appearance ??
Those are MH4U specific cameos, not MHW so it does make sense to leave them out
2:21 His immensniss in the flesh!
Or in the cardboard...
Always heard about this series, and want to give it a try sometime, seems pretty awesome.
No One it is.
You won't regret it :)
Monster Hunter World is a great place to start!
don't
MHW is certainly the best to jump into. It's quite the grind when it comes to getting certain equipment and weapons you have in mind. Not to mention playing on your own can take you longer, but if you signal for help, or even better, having friends that can help you in game, you'll have a blast.
I was hoping that GajinHunter would be able to do one of these at some point, ah well.
The great wHAT. Did this dude say jargas
I've been marathoning this game so hard on PC since I didn't want to buy a PS4. Great series, big fan!
Great Jargas v Great Jagras
Grudge match
Blizzard/Wow collab would be sick. Imagine all the weapon Ideas they could take from Wow.
First to be released on home console since '09? 3U came out on WiiU in 2011!
3U was made for the 3DS and 3 was made for the PSP. They've had a few console ports but they've worn their portable DNA. This is the first time where they designed the game around only modern consoles and not portables. Even with GenU coming to switch, you can still feel, from having to load every area, to the graphics dating back to the PSP, that the series had been held back soemwhat by it
MasterIckolas the Psp game was Portable Third, a very different game from 3U
Monster Hunter Tri for the Nintendo Wii was released in 2009.
its DUMB to save monster hunter?
Shadow Man fuck has it been that long already.
DYKG Extra: SBF member Patrick Boivin was critical on monster hunter's portable placement before world. Often stating that if it was on console it would feel much much better play compared to the PSP or 3Ds odd but manageable control schemes
This game is SICK AF!
It’s only been out for 8 months? Why do I feel so nostalgic for the game already?! I wanna play again
Hate to be *that* guy but...
These pronunciations of monsters really hurt
He only really mispronounced Jagras, and Nergigante
The nergigante pronunciation can be forgiven But Jesus Christ the Jagras one was baaaaaad
bro, it hurts so much, and the damage was SO HIGH, That it killed all the Elder dragons that ever appeared.
*Rapid music plays suddenly*
BAGELSNOOSE HAS APPEARED
I was dying laughing when he said ProJared little did he know Jared had a dark side lmao 😂
Fuck that guy
Me too
Yeah... weird how that worked out, hm?
I love how alive the world is.
DID YOU KNOW how to pronounce Jagras and Nergigante correctly?
Actually Nergigante's pronounce is correct since it comes from two italian terms aka "Nero" and "Gigante"
Which we can translate as Black Giant
@@maxpower5867 Ok I get what you're saying, but that's not how it's pronounced in game, doesn't matter that it sounds similar to how it's pronounced in a language, we're not talking about words we're talking about a "Name".
Like Data says to Doctor Pulaski when she keeps saying his name wrong, he replies: "One is my name; the other is not"
Since the every monster name has a cultural and grammatical origin I think it would be correct to follow that origin
But who cares, they're just some running meat to hunt and transform into armory and weapons
@@maxpower5867 fail. The way the game pronounces it is how its pronounced, really no debating that.
I've played this game since Freedom Unite and I am so happy that more people have gotten into it
ProJared was a gamer.
Aww... no Lagiacrus in World? If it was in there, I'd have bought it instantly.
7:49 Wait, “limited time events” were a requested fan thing?
Why?!?!
Can I mention that even in the first level, it took me 3 hours to explore it and I'm STILL finding new stuff.
Have a best soundtrack ✔️
Have good graphic✔️
Monster can fight each other✔️
Ez to learn gameplay✔️
But this game miss one important thing
No iconic animation after consume the consumable item❌❌❌❌
Cats cooking animation make up for it?
@RagingThunder that was the point, the game is to easy now because they removed that
@@alwest4472 not count, because i need when in hunt, to make more challenging, because mhw is the easiest MH series i ever play
@@andreasricky10 it was a joke jesus
Oh my god, Lagi looks beautiful, i'm sad he was cut. hope he comes back later on, a fave monster for sure.
Did you seriously say Jargas instead of Jagras at 6:30? Wtf?
And you did it again just a few seconds later!
Roxy Hawthorne dude relax
i'm really glad that the development team took the time to really make sure they got it right on release, instead of just rushing it out for sales
Definitely a contender for game of the year! Lots of excellent games this year too so this is gonna be tough to judge. Whoever gets that title though, MHW is an excellent game which deserves the highest praises.
lol yeah that 10/10 story
Capcom added a big serpent in MH4U in a 3DS but can't afford the animation of Lagiacrus who was my childhood monster from MH3U ;w;
Best game of Monster Hunter
Omar Vargas I respect your opinion but as a veteran I disagree
Tronerfull as a veterant? Wow lol.
Well as a "veterant" i too dont agree with you 😁.
Omar Vargas I prefer 4U and GenU.
I respect your opinion and as a veteran I agree
Omar Vargas I respectfully disagree. Sadly the structure of the game manages to kill most of my joy. Being stuck with 7 monsters 3 of which are just punching bags simply because all is now tied to the story isn't my idea of a hunting game. It's also not challenging enough so far. Heck in older games I suck at gunning. In World? Not a single hunt took more than 15-16 minutes and I barely even carted, all with Bowgun at hand. Feels... Wrong.
Watching this video makes me love the monster hunter world devs more then I already did.
I LOVE this game but I really wish that if you were playing solo, you can pause the game. That is the only draw back of the game.
StealthMaster86 I completely agree with you I play the game solo a lot and sure would like to be able to pause it when something is knocking at my door or my dog is threatening to throw up on something. Nope I just got to scream and run in the game to try and work back to Camp so I can go do something for 15 seconds without dying because the game decided not to have a pause function somebody said you can suspend the application and it will do the same thing but there's no button to do that on Playstation you have to go and open up another app like the store or UA-cam I think, I've never done it
Set your PS4 to rest mode. It'll pause the game if you're solo.
Nah, love that you can't pause Dark Souls and Monster Hunter. Makes it more intense!
7:46 I highly doubt fans requested limited time events lol, everyone I know wishes that the events were permanent like on the 3DS games
I bought my ps4 just to play this. It was worth it.
El Farto Supremo same hahahaha I brought PS4 pro
Been gaming for over 20 years... MHW is my favorite game I’ve ever played. Totally new to the series and hooked. Only issues I have are with the endgame, the grind gets really ridiculous. But I didn’t hit that until after 80 hrs in, so I can’t complain on value. Hope they get Iceborne to PC this year!!
Jag-ras
2:34, now THAT is a sense of "pride and accomplishment".
Yeah I really hope the sequel will be able to find a better balance between this and the older games like 4U.
All I see is a LoL trailer which shows that you just need to draw stickmen with Egoraptor faces and you're good enough to make commercials for Riot.
Cooperate with Blizzard for a Lich King skin.
ALL I WANT IS A BERSERK COOPERATION WITH THE BERSERKER ARMOR AND THE DRAGONSLAYER FOR A GS!
Oof projared
I got it on PC the moment it came out and already have a lot of hours poured in
The thing I like the most about monster Hunter vets is how easy they say the game is and still get bodied by tempered kirin at hr49,coz kirin didn't exist till world eh?🤔
I fought this,I fought that, and after all that u still gotta cart on an easy game?
Behemoth is a God send and a reality check to all those "vets" that keeps on saying about how hard previous games are and still cart..
Yeah I get it,mistakes are sometimes made..we're only human, but please, don't try and say how it's watered down for casuals when you're so hardcore but still cart on a game for casuals..
Nat Kampuacute This game is easily the easiest Monster Hunter in the series.
Lemme guess, apex rajang, etc etc this game is easy, dies on behemoth?🤔
Sure..its easy..😅
Or maybe, just maybe~you got used to the better QOL and it feels easier die to the things u could do now,at least we don't need to mark a monster anymore,or standing still for potions,it's the little things that makes it seem easier,oh..what bout that radial menu..
Just FYI, being killed by arguably the hardest monster in the game isn't exactly a good point of comparison.
Nat Kampuacute I didn't like the potion while walking feature....
sure you don't..coz hiding a loadscreen away to heal is harder..maybe you're just not used to being able to move while using potions..
somehow learning a monster's movement and attacks aint part of the reason the game seems easier..sure..arch teo carts the first day it was released and the solo runs the 2nd day..what about those solo behemoth runs?why was there no solo runs right off the bat?
im expecting acrh kushala carts too, even though kushala has been in previous game, and people uploading ther solos and TA a little after its release..
in all monster hunter games it always has, always will be,learn the movements, attack patterns, and kick new monster's ass..always has, always will be..it's just a matter of learning the monster..if it was easy, there will be no lesrning curve to whatever the devs throw at you,be it arch tempered monsters or behemoth..
Did you know that getting gold crowns for your hunting log is a pain in the butt? Man, I love this game like crazy. The platinum trophy though...
