“The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.
Don’t rejoice when your enemies fall;
don’t be happy when they stumble.
For the Lord will be displeased with you
and will turn his anger away from them.
Don’t fret because of evildoers;
don’t envy the wicked.”
Proverbs 24: 16-19 NLT - Навчання та стиль
Please, do not follow any of the advice in this video. I have been operating an X-Tool diode laser for a year and a half. Doing this in a garage with the doors and windows open and fans is NOT CLOSE to being adequate. I would NEVER put styrene in a laser unless it was extremely well ventilated. Even then, it's not a good idea. You MUST have an enclosure vented to the outside. The enclosure should also be fire retardant. In the time I've operated mine I only had ONE case of fire. If this is a recurring problem, something else is wrong. The light emitted will blind you, it will destroy your camera.
Also: NEVER PUT MATERIAL IN THE LASER YOU ARE UNSURE OF. ANYTHING CONTAINING PVC WILL EMIT TOXIC CHLORINE GAS THAT WILL KILLL YOU AND ALSO ERRODE THE ALUMINUM FRAME OF THE LASER.
I am going to pin your comment because of the comment about PVC because yes that is a big No No because of the gas. I will say that I did ask about my ventilation with several experts and they did say that using the goggles and having my 2 car garage door open next to the cutter with a fan blowing the fumes out was totally fine as long as I wasn't hovering over the machine. The Phecda does have a really solid filtered exhaust system that pulls fumes to it rather than pushing them like some other machines. With all of that being said. I am considering purchasing an enclosure mainly for the eye protection, but also the containment of smoke. I am also considering an enclosure for my 3D printers because of all the VOCs they can put out. I do really appreciate your comment because it brings up valid concerns and things that people should consider when purchasing a laser engraver.
I would really like to see a full shield over the whole thing, the fact that you can actually see the laser from what looks like a relatively high angle is quite scary. I know you said wear eye protection, but that is an accident waiting to happen. Keep an eye out for your camera when doing this videos too, looks like a nice way to burn a spot in your sensor.
People have been giving xTool noise from the beginning for making unsafe machines, and rightfully so in my opinion. Now that xTool has been gradually cleaning up their act it looks like Elegoo is going to have the same safety growing pains.
I mean the solution is to buy a proper sealed machine.
If you want more safety, buy a better machine. If you don't, buy the cheap Chinese machine.
I see nothing wrong with the machine offered. I only see people who think the company is somehow responsible for their own purchasing decisions.
@@monarchco Another solution is to simply have that shield, or the legs, be in some way adjustable so that the shield is at the same level as your workspace. Nothing as radical as having a properly sealed machine needed then.
And since you brought up the idea of "cheap Chinese machine" definitely would want to make sure that shield is actually blocking the wavelengths of that laser light. It's a bit difficult to tell in the video, you can see light through it, but that very well might just be the burning of the material.
And this has absolutely nothing to do with purchasing decisions, there is an absolute minimum level of safety that needs to be provided for consumer tools.
@@Mike__B that tells me you're an idiot who has never used a laser before
I can't wait to see your custom structures!
Oh, and folgers breakfast blend, black
Thats a nice little entry level laser..
Very nice demonstration, and nice product. While I don't have the funds for such a piece, it is interesting to see how this works in modeling and what can be done. Technology has opened many doors and allowed for more personal and creative capability. Great to see what you can do with such a product.
I like it but I’m still on the fence. Leaning more toward something with an enclosure
Does elegoo make a bigger one that would do double modules?
I have the exact same laser and am glad to see this. I plan to do buildings also, and might try making t-trak modules as well.
Ok letting you know I am in Curacao watching this while on a cruise… yes this is a priority…
Cool video!
lol love the laser glasses! Great video
Looks very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Nice, thanks, interesting look at the kit with some useful tips. So, the roller... could that be used to engrave panel lines, brickwork and the like on cylindrical structures like silos, fuel/water tanks, lighthouses etc?
great thing but i think i will wait till i have the money for the one from creality.
I am currently making a layout for a Kato Shinkansen train, and I wanted to find a new method for making mountains. Would paper mâché work?
