Truly a fantastic all-round city car that is great for sports and motorsports enthusiasts as well. I love the Golf and every iteration of it

Very informative video. Appreciate the effort you put in. A face cam whilst you talk would be great! Looking forward to the next GTD upload.

The Passat was the first front wheel drive VW. It beat the Golf by one year. And the Scirocco was launched 6 months before the Golf, believe it or not.
The Golf was originally going to be called the Gulf, to fit in with Passat and Scirocco (wind related), but Golf sounded better. And the idea of tartan seats in a Golf GTI came from the home of Golf, Scotland.
Great video. It’s such a shame VW can no longer claim to build reliable cars. They don’t build ‘em like they used to! The MK 7/7.5 was peak Golf. I wouldn’t touch a MK8. Unnecessary tech and quality control gone out the window.
I seem to remember reading in Auto Express they are continuing the Golf, but as an EV.
Not for me, I have no interest in EVs, from any manufacturer. Characterless, soulless, truly awful things.
