Music have changed after 50 years but still Simon and Garfunkel get the credit no matter the quantity of covers arise.
I used to play this for my dad and when he passed away I played it at his funeral so powerful everytime I hear it it puts me right into that moment again

I'm sorry, but disturbed's version of sounds of silence has to be the best version and cover version of all time. So much raw emotion through the whole song, every verse seems to go up an octave which heightens the dramatic value to the song and feels like it draws you into an emotional roller coaster ride with the sweetest of endings. Absolute raw power in his voice actually surprised me as to how soft and sweet he starts this song and gradually build up until its just sheer raw vocals that make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up 😢 absolutely superb ❤❤❤

As a kid listening to this song it always touched me and was always a favorite from Simon and Garfunkel.
Disturbed put a whole other layer on the song, listening as an adult, the power of just how important the words were back then, and apply to now.
Will lose my ENTIRE mind if they play this on upcoming tour as it will be my first experience seeing them live.

My son lost his son (my grandson), who passed away at seventeen due to the inability to get help for autism during covid. He went to a concert by Disturbed. They had a big screen accompaniment that was showing images of suicide during this song. It really disturbed him. Now, when I hear the song, I think of my grandson 😮💨

I didn’t actually like it originally but she played it to me a few times and I did start to really like it. I loved that we could play it for her when she was dying, she actually really calmed down and after hearing that song and eventually passed relatively peacefully.
