@@goatmen7996 I do not know of any EZCap style USB capture device with built-in TBC.

Appreciate the vid! That is surprising that you have stereo inputs but it seems to sum them in mono. Makes me think I might capture with only one track plugged in to avoid noise.

Hello, why did you use an S-video cable? I am having issues with my digitnow video capture device (no video, funny weird audio) do i need to use an s-video cable?? Can you please tell me what type?
I have Easycap. Same software as you have shown. Video shakes most of the time. Needs tracking by VCR/VHS video player every few minutes. Any solution?
If anyone has a problem with downloading the software off of the CD, If you have the adapter plugged in, It will work with your camera application on your computer, If you have a camera on your computer flip the camera the other way and it will recognize it, you also need to go into your volume input settings and select "Microphone" that will give it direct audio from your computer, and you can just press record and get your footage.
Can video be saved to an .mp4 file? The instructions that came with the BR117 are not very informative.Thanks.

Hi - Hoping I can get some help here please. I have connected the device (DIGITNOW BR117) via composite leads/scart adapter to my VHS player however the video does not show up on the software "honestech VHS to DVD"
Composite leads are connected to the adapter on one end which feeds directly to my laptop (Windows 11) via USB. The other end of the composite leads are connected to the scart adapter which feeds in to my VHS player.
When I open the software which has installed successfully, only the sound plays when I play the video from the player, there is no video shown within the software.
When I proceed to record, the output is in black and white regardless of selecting NTSC or PAL. I have used the same composite cable and scart adapter and connected it to my TV and it works fine.
I have not used the S-Video cable yet as this was not provided however when looking at the options it appears the input source cannot be changed due it being greyed out and locked to composite.
Any suggestions or help will be highly appreciated.

your vhs player seems like it needs cleaned
Do I press install Adobe reader to download the drivers and then press install VHS to DVD to install this capture software

I checked the DigitNow website, but I could not find the Video Grabber software available for download. You could try contacting DigitNow support. Alternately, you could use an external optical drive to install the CD. You can find one of these for as little as $16 on Amazon. Personally, I would just use different software. There is nothing special about the Video Grabber 2.0 software that comes with this device. I would suggest using OBS or even the Windows Camera app to capture footage with this device.
I did not receive any instruction booklet or installation disk! No software at all!

Just bought this, any idea why my Laptop doesnt register the USB ? Nothing pops up at all, tried all different USB ports, all my other USBs work fine on this laptop, ive updated everything.... Still nothing !???

When i capture movie with handycam through EASYCAP to my pc (usb shape common easycap) then quality are perfect but when i capture from VCR so found colorfull strips or sometime black n white recording..
Note:
I was conect vcr directly to home LCD TV
so vcr run vhs tape exactly
I guess that may i face ths problem due to old model vcr ..?

Sometimes old VCRs have trouble with the chrome signal. It can also be an issue with the tape. Do you know somebody with a VCR you can borrow to see if it plays the tape better?

I think easyCap is crap.
I've bought alot of cheap devices but it lags and get heat up and more often its give black and white video on pc.
But when I play My Vcr on Tv it's colorful and runs completely fine....

I just got this capture device today for my birthday. I was getting a preview of what the VCR was playing at first but now I’m not. Any ideas?? I am using the software that came with the capture device.
To troubleshoot the capture device, you can hook up a different video source that you know works like a DVD player, game system ,etc. To troubleshoot your VCR, you can hook it up directly to a TV set. To troubleshoot the software, you can use Windows Camera App or OBS Studio. If this device is faulty, I would ask the person who gifted it to you if it can be returned.
@@ThriftyAV I think it must just be the software because when I record from a VHS and locate the actual file that I recorded it plays perfectly. I just am not getting a preview in the preview window.

The video capture device was easier to use.
Can this be use to convert tapes to MP3?
A video signal must be fed into this device for it to work. Also, it mixes down the left and right audio channel to mono.

It is a "not ideal". You COULD feed a video signal from some other device like a DVD player with your tape audio, create a MP4 file, then strip the MP3 audio from the MP4, but this is a lot of hoops to jump through and you would end up with a MONO (not stereo) audio file when you are done.

Unfortunately, I cannot help with Mac. I would contact Digitnow Tech support for help.
As a Mac owner, I can tell you this won't work. It has to be Mac compatible. this isn't.

The software on these things are forever being updated due the PC/Mac updates. This renders the software obsolete and customer service for these devices is next to useless; they do not update software due to cost. Instead they offer a newer version for new cost. Roxio are shocking, keep well away from them. my advice is to get a stand alone device that does a great job and doesn't need software. More expensive, but it will never need updated software ..... that you cant get.

That's horrible quality. I am willing to bet there's a significant quality loos here, even vhs doesn't look that poor. if it did, no one could have ever sold a camera
