This is a great alternative to spending hundreds or thousands of hard-earned dollars on expensive model trains, and the trains still look and run great too, a philosophy which I've embraced for building my LEGO trains. 🚂
Thanks so much! Now with the multicolor printing - the end results are more than good enough for my older eyes! Just the couplers cost nearly 10 euro per set delivered to Netherlands... Piko, Fleischmann and Trix make great locos!
Amazing traincars ! I am interested in printing those tank cars but am unsure on how to add the couplers and wheels/trucks to the tank car. Can you make a video on doing that and include links to buying the wheels/trucks so i know that when I print it I will be able to add the wheels and couplers and run it on my layout. Thanks!
Thanks so very much! I use the same couplers for all the cars - Micro-Trains Medium Shank Couplers. They also can be uncoupled with a magnet for much more realistic actions. There are two sized pins that come with the couplers. I stick it on the end of a pen or my multimeter prong and sort of jiggle wiggle them into place. I can make a close up video of the process. Here is the link for their website www.micro-trains.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=63_113&product_id=421 I've also bought them here in the EU from a great shop I've gotten engines from as well: aat-net.de/product/bulk-pack-medium-couplers-2/
@@handlaidtracksand3dprinted922 Thanks, in this discription of the item "N Scale Roller Bearing w/ med extn couplers 10pr (1033-10)" does the 10 pr relate to how many you get in a pack ? since personally $80 seems like a lot for one complete truck.
@@gavinlaing4870 Yes it has 10 pair per pack. There are 20 pieces total - for 10 train cars per pack (2 per car). So about $8 per car. Was less than half that in the beginning of Covid when I started this layout... They are considered the best couplers and Kato and Atlas are now compatible as MT becomes the new standard. MIcro-Trains seems to run 25% or higher sales from time to time as well, I bought some for 25% off this summer.
