Googong Dam NSW Murray Cod 'goodoo'

Googong Dam in NSW is a metropolitan water supply dam for the city of Canberra. Carefully managed recreation activities and access times ensure the water body provides both a recreation amenity and clean drinking water supply. Swimming is not permitted, but canoeing, sailing and non combustion engine water craft can be used. The New government stocks the water body with Australian native fish to enhance the quality of recreational fishing. The Murray cod (c. 80cm) in the video was captured on a spinnerbait. The fish was kept in the water and not netted or handled (personal choice) to ensure its good welfare.
