Wijnaldum role is a good comparison because at times Wiji was cowardly too & he didn't show for the ball/never looked to make a brave progressive pass and seemed to be more of a help each team mate out rather than have specialised tasks that he had to perform with little margin for error. Mount is similar, I'd say quite a few players fall into that bracked, you can't afford to have too many of those- Bentancur, Willock, Macallister, Tolliso etc, they never get singled out for a bad performance because them failing isn't as clear to the eye as a specialist failing.
Mount has better pass and body position/off the ball movements than Gini though, Gini was a beast in tracking back, counterpressing situations and scored many goals but from crosses or low cross passes (something mount doesn't do). As for MacAllister he is better at dribbling than the other 2 and he just sometimes plays too safely still good nonetheless. haven't seen any midfield 3 from the Prem dribbling as much as Alexis does.
Wijnaldum played reserved at liverpool because that was the role Klopp wanted from him, whenever he played with the netherlands he went forward more and took more risks. liverpool’s system doesn’t require goal scoring or creativity form the CMs. We rely on forwards for scoring and fullbacks for assists.

People keep saying he's best as an 8 but I'm not so sure tbh. Doesn't really have the positional discipline to play deeper in the midfield and goes chasing after the ball too much. Also, his passing in the buildup phase leaves much to be desired. He's an interesting case to be sure. Anyways, what is your next video after this? Mount is 10/10 if you cherry pick his highlights and ignore everything else. He's always been a consistent 6/10. His best attribute is his work rate, but I'd not expect big performances every week
Feel like the video misses Mount’s greatest attribute - which there appears to be very little data available, but clubs do have data and algorithms to quantify this - and that’s his off ball movement and appreciation of space. It’s something Roberto Firmino was probably the best in the league at as a forward and I do believe Mount is one of the best in the league at it as a midfielder. I’ve said for about 12 months now he should be used like Valverde at Madrid and I genuinely believe he’s Henderson’s ideal replacement at Liverpool, who for years was ‘misbranded’ as a 6 when he was really an old school right midfielder. I think Mount is similar in that he’s neither a 6 nor a 10, but doesn’t really fit the traditional profile of an 8 in the league. I can see him thriving in Liverpool’s system in the role Klopp has been asking Harvey Elliott and now Henderson to occupy, which is a bit of a ‘free role wide 8/10’ where he leads the press and attacks space in overloads and transitions. Liverpool have never really used the classic playmaking 10 role, but Lijnders in his book often refers to Henderson as ‘our 10’, with the free role being used more in defensive situations and in off ball runs and movement. These types of players are essential to system football.
We cover his movement via the crossing section and also the goal scoring section where we talk about his timing of runs and inside to outside movement to get into crossing positions. Agree with your post thiughh

He might not be staggering to watch when he’s on the ball, he might not have the highest bracket of technical ability, but he is good, his attitude excellent and his versatility should be vital to Klopp’s often underrated ability to tweak things throughout the season.

Me too, I disagree with Pythagoras on Mount having vision. There are FAR more examples of Mount having a great pass forward and instead he'll choose a pass that will increase the time to get to goal. I understand not every pass needs to be a forward pass, but there are instances where the best pass is forward and he chooses another.
Well we did say in his possession section he’s a bit of a backwards passing merchant who fails to progress the game when it is on. Paradoxically also a good killer passer when he does decide to use it
@@PythagorasinBoots yea I can agree with that, you did mention that he sort of passes the buck/ responsibility to progress the game. He's a little inconsistent when actually playing the pass. It's odd because he doesn't have phases in a game that other players might. He'll be great for a few games, making good passes, runs etc. (unfortunately these periods don't last long), but then he'll have games where his pass execution is awful. But with time, he may get to a point where he can string together many games of good passing execution but that's difficult to say.

We as well need Mason Mount, his a good business footballer, I pray the deal gets confirmed just soon🎉🙏🎆 Then still on Greenwood, Let him be allowed to start playing matches... This is really too much. We're really missing this young talented player. I need Erik ten Hag to see his performance in matches, then he will know his being missing out on a player for long now. That young talent needs to compete with Anthony in that attacking left position. I bet the coach it's gonna be a superb competition for the both player's... There will be great result from both this time. 💗💗💗💗💗
I don't think Mount will suit with Liverpool Yeah he's good at pressing & crossing, but liverpool need a Mezzala who can cover the back when the fullback overlap & has a great workrate like Gini I think the ideal replacement for Gini is Barella, not Mount
Chelsea fan here and I think he would absolutely thrive at Liverpool, I'll be happy if we get Man U to pay 70-80 million but it would be the wrong move for United and for Mount.

He was diabolical last season and this season he improved a lot, so did McTominy, so Yes, I can be certain Mount will become better with EtH as his coach.
What do you think of him at Utd? And if they still play a 4-2-3-1, do you think Bruno would become the deeper player next to Casemiro?
Very good analysis. However, we tend to forget he is only 24. I'm sure he will improve under Eric Ten Hag at Manchester United.
I beg to differ on the goalscoring point. Mount actually has more goals than Lampard and Gerrard respectively had for Chelsea and Liverpool at the same point in their careers
Yeah he has better goal contributions than Lampard did when they were both at the same age
Really good video, i agree on most points and you backed them up with stats but his vision.. it is not good st all. His tunnel vision hinders all our other attackers
same tunel vision found kai in ucl final.
@@careerjohnoy3623 Literally a wide open pass. Unless you want to call Kai a goalscorer cause he also broke the deadlock in a UCL final?
@@careerjohnoy3623 move on mate its been 2 years ffs
great analysis as always. Please make one on nicolo Barella. Would love to see that one and I am sure others will tooo.
Great suggestion!
+1
Please do Joao Neves next want to see if he’s a good fit for United
Very interesting regarding the mention about him not wanting to be the star player. Profound
You might need to revisit this analysis. With more emphasis on how Intelligent Alexis is. That was a huge miss
He's just like Gavi. Casuals think they're overrated but these two are more technically gifted than people think.
I get what you’re saying but gavi is miles better
@@MansOT- I'm a Barcelona fan and I don't agree with you.
They're different profiles and in some areas, Gavi is better and in some, Mount is better.
Overall, Mount is more experienced atm but I think Gavi has a higher ceiling
@@lator1941 lol
Very detailed, worth the effort ✅✅✅
Please do Manuel Ugarte at Sporting next
Excited to see what he brings to United
Excited? He's no different from Sancho
As a Man Utd supporter, I really enjoyed that video
according to the DM united are to bid 55m for him, this could be a ploy to get Rice too, who is his best friend
I always think that Mount is a super talented player just that he doesn't want to be a standout star for his team just like a debruyne I don't know maybe it's because of his low confidence level that he can be the main star midfielder for his team. I think he just needs to be spending more time in the attack than always coming to defense. He needs to believe that he can be that star player for the team I mean that he can carry the team. Cus if it's for the abilities he's got it in bountiful.
I can’t see him developing that mindset at Chelsea as you’re always looking to bring in big stars on big money - even KDB felt overwhelmed in that sense at the Bridge.
Under Klopp he may have a very good opportunity this is JK Specialist
@@PythagorasinBoots please make a video on martin odegard
Excellent video and great statistical presentation, looks like he's on his way to UTD,
Appreciate it Raymond
Here We Go!
He can play that anchor role to connect defence and attack in that man utd team
He'd be a good addition to the United squad and under ten Hag he'd vastly improve
Ten Hag would improve him Ten fold......look at Spider...He is different class now
Good video, Could you please do one on Manuel Ugarte next
He's going to join Liverpool or Newcastle, most obvious transfer from a mile away.

@@Kingoio222 yeah just seen that, decent signing tbf.
Please do make a video on Diogo Costa the Porto/ Portuguese goal keeper 🙏

Love the channel bro.
Keep up the good work.
Great job as always 👍🏻
he'd be excellent for united. similar to eriksen in the 8 who has the energy to press. he's a champions league winner and team player of good character.
Eriksen was a playmaker Mount is more a AM. If we signed him id expect Bruno to drop little bit deeper.
He is just like de jong, an all rounder thats niche and hard to place inside a team. But unlike de jong he is a more of a phase 2-3 player. To be honest, im excited to see him play in man u as a 8 besides casemiro and bruno. It will be interesting to see how mobile that team will be.
He’s nothing like de Jong
looool you smoking crack clearly
Not even similar a little bit
This comparison is wide off the mark. He's not like De Jong at all.
This will tell you why Eth want him… will be great addition
He’s a good player and I hope it works for us 😊
This entire video is just about how great de bruyne is 🤣
He's different gravy tbf
For you to be regarded as great, you must be compared to the very best.
Are you planning making Edson Alvarez video? Would he be good enough for Chelsea?
Thoughts on his transfer to manchester united? how do you think he’d fit under ten hags side?
He will shine anywhere he goes. Chelsea will regret letting him ho and treating him with contempt.
Great breakdown 🤝
Get mount, unlock antony and Fernandes... no wonder he is top of the list for summer
Mason Mount. 24 yrs old.

Wow! You changed the thumbnail.
he can be van de beek or berghuis when ten hag coach ajax
Van de Beek is already at United. This is a waste of a lot of money.
I don't know if you can do one on Luke Shaw... he's revitalized his career again
And Dalot will be interesting
Man is good at counter attacking football
Did I spot Bellingham in the Liverpool line up? Did you pick Mount for Liverpool only if they signed Jude?
I call him a world class utility midfielder. I’ve said the same thing as about camavinga.
Except Camavinga is miles better than him already and has a much higher ceiling
hes like a hybrid to prowse (plus with more accurate set pieces)
I dont know, as a chelsea fan he’s never been good enough on the ball, tends to make poor decisions in the final third and can’t dribble well consistently. Maybe it’s just me being cynical but if i take away emotion from his great fun under lampard and the ucl campaign, he’s just not the worth the contract he wanted
MM @ManUtd with their X’analysis coaching setup, and a progressive manager in ETH would bring him out of his shell, and become the standout player, that the England manager, saw in MM…
Absolutely don't see Ten hag plans here
Good stuff, I’d be curious to see him at Liverpool but I wish we hadn’t fumbled Jude 😔
Liverpool were never in for him it was all sports media and fans stirring the rumour mill, I mean could you honestly see klopp spending 120m plus on one player...? when you need at least 4
Im highly skeptical of mounts intelligence. Everytime i see him hes not looking at where hes going/passing
@@aaro96live Agree with all that, hence I think he slightly falls below world class bracket.
May be there are more than 10 players, who are better than mount with less price tag just scout it.
Would love to see a Vid about Sofyan Amrabat next. Always hear his name around a move to a big club this summer
Mason Mount is not extremely good at 1 thing he is very good at many things. Its sad to see how he always gets bad rep but he was Chelsea's player of the season for 2 seasons where there was very good performers in the team. Hope he stays at Chelsea the man bleeds blue.
Mount would have been perfect for Liverpool
Mount should find this form at United when the season starts. He’s one to watch but would need broad shoulders to carry the weight of that United 7 shirt.
Now please do one on Debruyne
He deserves more of a legends video at end of career
Would Mount fit into Ten Hag system?
Now that he joined utd and what do u think midfield three of bruno Casemiro and mount?
We waiting for that odegard vid 🙏
BRO CAN YOU PLEASE DO AN ANALYSIS VIDEO OF TIJJANI REIJNDERS
if lampards gonna stick with 433 formation, play mount in place of kova
kova, enzo and mount would still be a good mid 3. Kante, Enzo and Mount too, but I think he might want more minutes and leave after sucking the bench all games during potter's time
@@mariadanielalavia8877 the second option is a lot better than the first one
I'd play mount as RHS interior in a box midfield personally
He’d be good in front of an inverted Trent and next to Salah, overlapping with him.
We as well need Mason Mount, his a good business footballer, I pray the deal gets confirmed just soon🎉🙏🎆
Then still on Greenwood, Let him be allowed to start playing matches... 💗💗💗💗💗
Gerald and Lampard always score more as they're spot kick taker
Been a follower for a long time was wondering if you would do one on Kaoru Mitoma

How would he fit with his new team mufc
What's his best position?
Can you do one of Reece james and Ben Chilwell
Bet you didn't think we'd pay £60m for him.
I don't think Mount will suit with Liverpool
Yeah he's good at pressing & crossing, but liverpool need a Mezzala who can cover the back when the fullback overlap & has a great workrate like Gini
I think the ideal replacement for Gini is Barella, not Mount
Fair but couldn't mason play as a mezalla he is dencet at crosses when he is confident and paradoxly has good vision but doesn't utilize it enough
@@MaestroMarcelo7 can he cover the position left by our overlapping fullbacks? I don't think so
Think wd b a good option fo arsenal.replaces xhaka as a left sided no 8.more like a creative support for odegaard.
Chelsea fan here and I think he would absolutely thrive at Liverpool, I'll be happy if we get Man U to pay 70-80 million but it would be the wrong move for United and for Mount.
please do amadou onana or lois openda
Can you please do a video on ceballos
Better analysis than Lampard!
Please Maddison tactical analysis
I don't think mount would fix the problem in man utd midfield, I more of a number 8 and would be a perfect back up for Bruno.
Eriksen was a huge problem v Citeh in the final. If he had Mount's leg he'd have been able to compete in duels rather than be too slow to even contest.
@@PythagorasinBootsMount Ain't a number 8, you said it yourself, The doesn't have that ability to take the game by the scruff of the neck from a Num 8
