- Another BIG Train On Cincinnati Eastern Railroad CCET. Railroad Switching At The Grain Siding In Winchester, Ohio. Includes Train Passing Peebles & Mount Zion. Train Starts In Sardinia & Runs To The Near End Of Active Track. Great View Of Train Passing Railroad Crossing On Main Street, Peebles. Short Line Railroad Action At Its Finest!
I finally got to film another long train on the Peavine Line. Norfolk Southern leases the line to CCET. I went to Sardinia in the morning and caught the train heading eastbound. It had stopped here the night before. This video includes both sides of train. I got so much footage that I will have to make another video of the train. This train has cars for Winchester Ag, McCoy Lumber, Hanson quarry and storage cars for the east end.
The railroad switching shows the train setting off 6 cars for Winchester Ag and moving the first car on the train to the rear of the train. The locomotives are an EMD SD40-2 and an EMD GP15-1. The train starts out with 42 cars which is very long for this line. After it spots the 6 at Winchester it continues on with 36 cars. After I filmed the train passing Peebles I went to Piketon, Ohio to film some Norfolk Southern trains on that line. I also tried to get some CSX action at Greggs Hill but struck out there. On my way home the train was finishing up some switching in Peebles and shut down for the night.
Filmed Tuesday, November 14, 2023 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

Good Morning Brian and all the railfans..
Morning!
Good Morning
Great movie buddy your diesels in US are awsome. In England we still have plenty of steam on special charters all privately owned locomotives. The one I filmed Saturday was only 15 mins drive away.Another tomorrow Wed . l have over 250 films on my you tube video channel give it a go and spread the news. All the best Brian
Solid catches as usual. Anyone else caught the surprise passing of the Monarch Butterfly at around 31:42 mark? We see them multiple times in the summer here in NC and they're always a pleasant sight!
Those old EMDS sure do earn their keep JT.💪🏼
Can't get enough of the EMD sound!!!
Looks like they are utilizing that old line the best that they can.
Hello Steve!
Just discovering your old videos from way back! Really enjoy watching! Grew up two blocks from the ICG tracks still remember going with my grandpa to see the last steam engined train go by!
Will be 69 years old tomorrow!
A great train and some great locations. Thanks for keeping up with CCE.
This is the first time I saw CCET pulling more than just the rock cars and gondolas.
Good morning to you Brian, and for all trainspotters of the USA, like 150.
Hello there! Its a great fall day
@@JawTooth nice
Love the CET locos JT. Beautiful spots at crossings , wouldn't it be great to jump on first train lowloader & go for a train ride! Fab first train . Stunning countryside JT even in November. Great seeing the farmers busy in the fields too. ❤😊
Wow! Awesome freight trains! Thanks so much Brian for sharing!
LOVE ME SOME EMD's!!! Those two locomotives are my favorites!! Along with that particular spot you video from. Fantastic train action with getting to watch them do the switch. Also great to hear the radio chatter. Thanks for all you do to bring this wonderful world of trains to us JT!!! Until next time!!

It's really enjoyable when you give us the consist and train tasking to accompany your top notch video compositions. Long train for a a short line. 🏅 Thanks J.T.!
My pleasure!

Nice train. Before switching it had 42 cars, afterward it had 36.

Rear of the conductor car looks like it's been through a salty winter already.

Enjoy the CE railroad fantastic video thanx again!!! BTW keep up the gr8 work...
Thank you very much!
Cool CCET train JT! 😊😊😊❤❤
I heard that short lines are now hauling about 29% of railroad freight nowadays. Loved the video
Interesting. I didn't know that
A good sized train to keep those rails shiny. The SD40 tip toed onto the siding just about as far as it should go and the time was right to shuffle the tie car so when they run around the train at the Quarry it's positioned for easy drop off on the way back. If all those gravel cars come back at once a doubling of the Hill will be guaranteed. Since your last visit it looks like they stashed an entire ethanol train on that siding. Todays oddball freight car is the covered hopper LANX which was for Lansing Grain Company which was sold several years ago to The Andersons who has most of the other leased cars today (AEX) finish it off with the TTXX work in progress flat cars and it was a great autumn day. If we see Chessie with the tractor tilling the field you'll never have to work again
Yes on the great Locomotives...nice video
That was a working man’s train!
Nice catch JT..Looks like it's getting cold.. Keep that bacon warm in that pen...I love Bacon!!!
Thanks 👍
CET has quite the color scheme. one busy railroad.

JT, this was a really interesting video. As always, you delivered. I try to catch your vids when I can. Thanks for the trains!
Those diesels do sound good.
New housing is on the way to Dorsey Road - that would be my guess. After 26 years of hauling concrete in Columbus, Ohio, that construction area shows all the signs of either housing or commercial construction. The "ditch" you pointed out is actually a retention pond, that will contain/hold the water runoff from asphalt paving/driveways. With the park area and apartments all ready near there, that would be my guess. Of course, it is very close to the Appalachian Highway. Maybe check the county auditors website and see if that property has changed hands lately. AND, great short line switching as always. Thanks, Charlie in Central Ohio
Sooo goood the train 👍👍👍
Chessie is such a great looking doggy! Thanks, Jaw Tooth
Excellent JT!
Thanks!

Hey just keep 'em comin'!
U R top notch with a lotta' competition trying to side into your nitch!
Hey ...but a little less of that spot at that crossing in Hamilton.
Can you go to a different spot along that line (maybe around the curve?
It's a good spot... but gettin' kinda' old! (Ls)
Nice Video
Wow! Great catch, Brian, thank you.
Thanks for watching!
This is such a welcome change from the ubiquitous Appliances pulling endless strings of tank cars or auto racks at Crescent Springs. Thanks.
I get bored from auto racks. I look for mixed freights
An old Pillsbury hopper in the consist. CP still has a few floating around out here with SOO reporting marks. At least it's still hauling grain yet and not fertilizer. Bonus was the ex-Southern/AEX patched hopper behind the gondola at the front of the train too.
Some really pretty scenery, beautiful farmland.. great video. Loved going to PA when i was a kid, looking at all the rolling hills and farmland. Thank you for the video Brian stay well roll on
Thanks 👍
Great video awesome catches
Thank you very much!
Great job jaw . To bad that someone grab the. .W. post that was Cool . 👍🏻😎Robin out

Youll have to teach Chessie how to drive that mower!!!! LOL WF
Those Dorsey Road properties sold in February and April of 2023.Charlie in Central Ohio
Son-you did good! What a lovely day for train action. 💯🔥👍🏼
Winchester Ag track is a whole lot better than a video I watched the other day when they had reactivated the line and the track spread apart and and they parked it.
Lol, that is an ancient video that I did right after I started the channel.
Another great video today. Always interesting to watch. See you on the next, Brian. 😊
Great video 👍
Thanks 👍
More cool switching from the CCET with those sweet EMDs. Great work JT.👍🏼🚂
Thanks 👍
@@JawTooth you’re welcome JT.👍🏼
I enjoyed watching this video of the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad train moving east on the line that they lease from Norfolk Southern, Jaw Tooth! I liked your captures of the train at the various road crossings. I found the switching at Winchester, Ohio fascinating to watch. After the train left Winchester with the gondola for McCoy Lumber in Peebles, Ohio, I thought that the train would stop at the McCoy Lumber siding on the way east. However, the train passed the McCoy Lumber siding and kept going to Plum Run, Ohio. I am looking forward to your second video on this train and the Norfolk Southern trains at Piketon, Ohio. Will we see the switching moves at Peebles, Ohio that you mentioned in your description of this video?
The switch at Peebles faces the train so they have to switch McCoy lumber on the return trip. I went to Piketon to get some Norfolk Southern trains instead of waiting for them to return to Peebles. On my way back from Piketon at about 5:15pm they were just finishing up switching McCoy Lumber. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@JawTooth after they coupled the gondola for McCoy Lumber, I was thinking that they could cut the SD40-2 off the train and drop the SD40-2 in the McCoy Lumber siding. Then they could pull the rest of the train east of the McCoy Lumber siding and bring the SD40-2 out of the siding to take the gondola off the train. The SD40-2 could then shove the gondola into the McCoy Lumber siding, uncouple the gondola with the SD40-2 staying on siding. Then GP15-1 would shove the rest of the train to a point west of the switch to the McCoy siding. The SD40-2 would come out of the siding and then couple to the GP15-1 to continue the run to Plum Run, Ohio to the Hansen Quarry. Then, when they passed the McCoy Lumber siding, I concluded that they would run the engines around the train at Plum Run and take the gondola and any loaded rock cars back to Peebles, Ohio to drop off the gondola for McCoy Lumber. You said that you saw them finishing up at McCoy Lumber when you arrived back at Peebles, Ohio.
Great video! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! 👍
Many of those cars sound like they need a majot overhaul of the shocks and wheel axel bearings.
@kevinfranck6520 good morning, how are you doing.
Great video as always. Like the switching and the local CCET trains. ❤️
Thank you very much!
What a great video. A lot of chasing and waiting. Switching is fun to watch. Thanks JT. no DPU 😢
I enjoyed that video👍👍
Thanks 👍
Enjoyed the “local action “. Used to drive/ride 32 east to Athens (back in the day).
Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Good morning!
People who deal with lawns for a living say you should chop up the leaves with your mower to feed the lawn.
🚂👌🇮🇳👌🚂
Nice Video!
Thank you very much!
Well done 👏
Thank you 😁
Good video
Thanks
Good video Jawtooth
Thanks!
Another awesome video from Jaw Tooth. Have a nice day 😊🌈
I hate to see the old barns disappear! Luckily some people are keeping up the maintenance, but there won't be many left for the next generation. 😐
The one they tore down was a really nice one. I wanted to put a picture of it in this video but couldn't find one. My old barn needs some work also but it is difficult to find someone to do the work. I tried to get the Amish to and they weren't interested .
@@JawTooth The #1 thing is to keep the roof from leaking. That will buy time - but can be expensive!
Sounds like a few of theose cars need bearing grease!
Hey jaw tooth watching trains switching customers is fun. I wonder why conductor doesn't ride engine. It's only rail line I see that he never rides engine. Have a great railroad day 🚂🙋♀️
Good question! At the end of the day when they shut the train down they have a car there to ride back to the office. I think it saves them from having to walk a lot also.
Easier to drive instead of walking to the end of a train and back. 🤷🏼♂️
'Just sit on the porch and swing, sit on the porch and swing' .... and watch the trains switching !!! hope it's not a dry county though ....
No, it's not dry. thanks for watching!
Thanks Jaw Tooth respect bro
Thanks for watching my videos!
Good morning chessie.
Woof woof!
Wonder why the old CPLs are still standing after all these years?
And a norther great video! You are always saying " Live action! ". HHHmmm... Is it "live" or is it "Memorex"? For those whom do not know, "Memorex" was a quality cassette tape from back in the 80's. I just dated my self didn't I?
Cool video. Just wondering how the rock is unloaded from the gons. Liked it much, thanks JT!
Gostei boa tarde🐱🐶🌅
Thanks for watching!
wow, that's a major regrading project there... took milage money to do that i'm sure.
hello jaw & it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks jaw friends randy
Hello Randy, thanks for watching my video!
I like train videos on UA-cam
Jawtooth spy alright 👍
Big sister and a twin
A been wondering how much of the rail lines are still the original lines from when they first laid the first rails when they built the railroads n how much of it has changed 🤔🤔🤔
