So that time, the Big 3 companies (SM, YG and JYP) were ruling kpop and had much praises in media and entertainment industries while Bighit didn't get much exposure since company backgrounds are what mattered for success. BTS had large sales and awards and were already competing with powerful groups in those Big 3 companies in their rookie years so the media decided to burry BTS' achievements so it will seem the Big 3 is still in the lead. So basically BTS stood their ground, lowered their pride, even when they face mistreatments and disrespectful moments, they still gave their 100% efforts for the fans and because they love music and performing. Since BTS broke the rule of Big 3 who are the only ones allowed to win Grand Prices in Award shows in 2016, it brought alot of attention, positive and negative. BTS haters, also the Big 3 stans, knew BTS was a threat and threw shits at them to bring them down, but what happened? BTS' success grew bigger and bigger until they already surpassed the Big 3 in terms of impact, numbers, sales. Until now, BTS keeps growing and growing until they are no longer in that Kpop bubble. The hosts later admitted to treating bts worse on purpose and that they wouldn't do that now that bts are so big, but they never apologised. It wasn't exactly a comedy show but the hosts are known to throw jabs at visiting artists. The thing was that they did a lot worse to bts than any other artist who has visited, usually it's just off handed jokes and stuff, but with bts the entire show was just "let's sh*t on these 7 boys".
Doni and Coni have been always this disrespectful under the guise of comedy and banter, they mocked the legendary INFINITE and still some groups say no ill-well of this duo and INFINITE consider them as "friends". I'm just glad they didn't hit BTS like they did with other groups, especially girl groups.
If people who criticize Army for "coming for" people who are disrespectful toward BTS knew this history they would understand WHY Army is so protective of BTS.
The boys couldn’t be disrespectful towards these hosts, as in Korea, you can’t be disrespectful to older people or higher in position etc. than you. It’s just a cultural difference. Showing respect is a huugee thing there. If they had said something they would had been cancelled completely by the Korean public and citizens. I don’t think they would support their music if they had committed such “offence”. Yeah that particular episode of the show at minute 7:30 is infuriating. The so-called jokes the hosts made and the edits of the show all seemed to be made to belittle the boys and make them look stupid and lacking talent, most probably because of them not being part of the Big Three. I don't know how some found the jokes normal, because even in the Korean culture, which is more tolerant to jokes than we are, they were actually not. And that rapper B-Free who called them girls for wearing make up is hated by all ARMY around the world. But you know what they say, KARMA is a b****. They are still being ignored by the media, a music industry expert said one of the reason mainstream media don’t like them is because their success came without the help of mainstream media so the media ppl felt threatened and got their ego bruised. I watched bts debuted back in 2013, I was not a fan of them that time (I was more into exo), but I did witness them being looked down by lots of ppl. Now it still breaks my heart thinking of it. When they first got the grand prize on MAMA, I remember reading one article by a music critic calling them cheaters and unqualified artists, saying that they were not qualified for any big award. I'm glad eventually they have proved those who have doubted them wrong. Yes they proved me wrong, and I will be their side till the end.

I will never understand hate towards sincere, good people. It’s amazing that they were able to remain as good people. Not even the stuff that are public, but past stories about the members we find out later from other people who used to know them, encountered them, or worked with them have sweet and heartwarming experiences with them. Even dating back their trainee days. Usually for celebs these days, we find out more if-y stuff about them.

I'm a newer ARMY myself and I didn't know most of the stuff that was mentioned in this video. However did I know about the whole B Free incident and as a RM Bias I was furious. But after watching this it really shows me how poorly they all were treated and still are being treated by the whole music industry. Then again, It also shows me how calm and rational they all were and are when dealing with hate. Any of them could have lashed out because of a harsh statement at any time but instead they all stayed professional and respectful under pressure. It really is inspiring to see how they handle each hateful and disrespectful situation even though they don't deserve any of it. I think I can speak for all ARMY when I say. All of ARMY will stand with BTS forever and face every obstacle side by side because together we are truly bulletproof.

They are BTSpop and ARMY's will continue to say this until the media get it. We will not allow them to be associated with the industry that tried everything to tear them down. BTS are South Korean artists now (the way we explain it is, you wouldn't call Beyonce, Michael Jackson or Ariana Grande R&B and Pop, so why would you call BTS kpop? They are their own people). Some international news publications have adapted this when writing their articles, but k-media and kpoppies still call them "kpop". We're still working to stop this from happening, but it's a long process.
This is the reason why I can never really trust anyone else apart from ARMYs and BTS, especially other fandoms (even though many of them claim that they aren't anti BTS, they'd be at our throats the moment something happens and blame us for literally breathing)
The point about SM is a really good one. BTS didn't become big because of kpop rather despite of it. SM made the label toxic and bts have to fight to this day against the toxic stereotypes the big three are responsible for.

When i watch this all i remember how many similar instance were was and it makes my heart burn. There is also so many Korean culture context missing that makes all this so much worse than it sounds in western culture terms. There is so much hate around BTS and ARMY for years that even ARMY is basically choking on it. When BTS were powerless they were exploited and abused and called nobodies. When they gone higher than anyone before them in k-pop industry they still are bashed. This time for being too successful that it makes everyone else insecure. And yes ARMY is defensive. Super defensive, cause we always had to be on defense from the start, so even now when we grown into powerhouse on our own, we still cant relax. We still in defense mode, cause we never were treated fairly. And as much as k-pop fans like to lie to themselves and others that it is ARMY who acts entitled and showing off and because of that are not liked. Facts are ARMY is just not trusting and defensive cause they never gave us any reasons to trust them. ARMY and k-pop fans history is full of disrespect, vicious attacks, propaganda company against ARMY and BTS, constant backstabbing after we gave new leaf it a try. I do have to disagree with something here. This video does not have BTS's mindset. You'll see that BTS is very thankful to each and every interview that took them seriously to every opportunity they have to connect with journalists and news shows and other shows that share them with their audience. They have said many times to the journalists and interviewers thank you for sharing us with your audience for. For connecting us with our army and the world. they do acknowledge that they have been mistreated at times maybe much more than some others but they do not take for granted the times when they were given a chance when they were given a moment and when people gave their time and their platform to highlight BTS. They also understand how ratings and the business works and so they have handled those who rejected them at first but now accept them with grace and understanding. They don't hold it against them and they don't want army to hold against them but to continue to persevere and spread positivity. BTS would be the last ones who want you to hold a grudge or spread anger and cancel culture. They believe that it is through kindness love and hard work that they can overcome their haters. Just like in their mic drop music video they have a mentality of not proving their haters wrong or dissing their haters or making their haters pay. They're mentality is they're going to win them over and make them fans. And if they're just people who love to hate they will say goodbye and not not let them have the power to bring them down. One of the best things too about big hit is how seriously they've taken slander and campaigns to spread malicious and evil gossip about BTS. They've sued thousands of people who have made it their mission to destroy BTS through lies and slander. And those people have learned that in Korea, That's against the law and you will pay. They don't settle either they never settle with these people they always make them pay according to the law.

I would like to point out that in large part, the problem is the company and not the idols in it. Even the leader of the group Twice Jihyo said that BTS opened doors to western culture. Bts also has several friends from these big companies. Bts is also a great inspiration for new Kpop groups and these groups have BTS as a goal

Jimin's problems with dieting and body image which he has openly talked about himself. all the times when antis made hashtags or petitions trying to kick out one member of bts or just ruin bts as a whole. the time when Jhope held a live alone and everybody asked to see other members until he just gave the phone to Jimin and left (he didn't go on Vlive alone for about a year afterwards i think). their incidents with saesangs (crazy fans) doing horrible things like chasing them down and stalking them which clearly made them very uncomfortable and scared. Yoongi going through all the years with his injured shoulder which he luckily now got a surgery for so i hope its gonna get better. all of them being maliciously cyberbullied. recently Jimin was the target of harassment on twitter (some toxic armys had said something horrible about another group which angered toxic fans in the other fandom and led them to hating on Jimin for some reason) thousands and thousands of tweets about Jimin being a slut and whore, joking about him having an eating disorder and not eating enough, making up rape and pedophile scenarios, and just generally dragging him through the mud for no reason. the time when V announced that his grandmother had died at a performance and antis started saying he did it for attention and that he deserved it. there are so many more that i just cant think of now but it really hurts me to think of what they have had to go through and how they still put on great performances for armys.
The most painful for me is when a young Jungkook was disrespected by a tv show called Flower Crew. How badly he was hurt and humiliated. How he begged the Army not to vote for him so they won't be mad at him. How they didn't say sorry but they just justify their actions. Hey, so, I just wanna preface this by saying I’m an ARMY who ults BTS and I genuinely lament the fact that BTS faced and continues to face so many obstacles to their well-deserved success. I’m not denying that they were horribly mistreated and didn’t deserve any of the immense pushback they received. That being said, though, what K-pop labels and companies do is not a reflection on the character or merit of the artists under those companies. EXO was mentioned a lot in this video and, while it is true that they had a privileged background and SM did a lot of dirtywork to promote them, the members of EXO are extremely dedicated, talented, and deserving people. Remember, as many resources are available to you once you become a trainee, it’s not easy to get into a Big 3 company. These groups and idols are not villains. Don’t let these videos fool you into thinking other idol groups aren’t talented, good people doing amazing things, too. Subconsciously, I fell for this trap when I first got into K-pop. I thought that BTS were the only group that was “good” in this corrupt industry and refused to look into groups from Big 3 companies, especially EXO, because in my mind they were villains. This, however, is not the case and I think we need to remember that it is possible to separate the behaviors of a company from the artists under that company. It is possible to have these discussions without antagonizing genuinely good, talented people.
I understood what you are saying. I do respect the other groups for their hard work. It’s nothing personal against them it’s just that I personally truly don’t like Kpop in general. This decision came after many many hours trying to listen to the other groups. Their sound just don’t appeal to me. I discovered BTS first which made me explore Kpop and was sadly disappointed thinking other groups would be similar, they are not. To me they all everyone one of them sounds exactly the same. Cookie cutter productions formulated just not my cup of tea. However TXT and Mamamoo to me have their own sound and I do like them a lot. The other groups in my opinion reminds me of high school glee clubs. I’m glad that do have fans. I’m not one but I respect them. Believe me this Army tried but failed so I’m what one would call a BTSpopper. I love them and only BTS. I don’t like when people try to compare other groups to them or try say BTS sounds like some other artist, they don’t they sound like BTS and the beauty of it all they owe no one for their success. Since BTS broke the rule of Big 3 who are the only ones allowed to win Grand Prices in Award shows in 2016, it brought alot of attention, positive and negative. BTS haters, also the Big 3 stans, knew BTS was a threat and threw shits at them to bring them down, but what happened? BTS' success grew bigger and bigger until they already surpassed the Big 3 in terms of impact, numbers, sales. Until now, BTS keeps growing and growing until they are no longer in that Kpop bubble. The hosts later admitted to treating bts worse on purpose and that they wouldn't do that now that bts are so big, but they never apologised.
It wasn't exactly a comedy show but the hosts are known to throw jabs at visiting artists. The thing was that they did a lot worse to bts than any other artist who has visited, usually it's just off handed jokes and stuff, but with bts the entire show was just "let's sh*t on these 7 boys".
Doni and Coni have been always this disrespectful under the guise of comedy and banter, they mocked the legendary INFINITE and still some groups say no ill-well of this duo and INFINITE consider them as "friends".
I'm just glad they didn't hit BTS like they did with other groups, especially girl groups.
If people who criticize Army for "coming for" people who are disrespectful toward BTS knew this history they would understand WHY Army is so protective of BTS.
The boys couldn’t be disrespectful towards these hosts, as in Korea, you can’t be disrespectful to older people or higher in position etc. than you. It’s just a cultural difference. Showing respect is a huugee thing there. If they had said something they would had been cancelled completely by the Korean public and citizens. Yeah that particular episode of the show at minute 7:30 is infuriating. The so-called jokes the hosts made and the edits of the show all seemed to be made to belittle the boys and make them look stupid and lacking talent, most probably because of them not being part of the Big Three. I don't know how some found the jokes normal, because even in the Korean culture, which is more tolerant to jokes than we are, they were actually not. And that rapper B-Free who called them girls for wearing make up is hated by all ARMY around the world. But you know what they say, KARMA is a b****. I watched bts debuted back in 2013, I was not a fan of them that time (I was more into exo), but I did witness them being looked down by lots of ppl. Now it still breaks my heart thinking of it. When they first got the grand prize on MAMA, I remember reading one article by a music critic calling them cheaters and unqualified artists, saying that they were not qualified for any big award. I'm glad eventually they have proved those who have doubted them wrong. Yes they proved me wrong, and I will be their side till the end.

I will never understand hate towards sincere, good people. It’s amazing that they were able to remain as good people. Not even the stuff that are public, but past stories about the members we find out later from other people who used to know them, encountered them, or worked with them have sweet and heartwarming experiences with them. Even dating back their trainee days. Usually for celebs these days, we find out more if-y stuff about them.

People will never understand the love Army’s have for BTS unless they know what they went through.

I'm a newer ARMY myself and I didn't know most of the stuff that was mentioned in this video. However did I know about the whole B Free incident and as a RM Bias I was furious. But after watching this it really shows me how poorly they all were treated and still are being treated by the whole music industry. Then again, It also shows me how calm and rational they all were and are when dealing with hate. Any of them could have lashed out because of a harsh statement at any time but instead they all stayed professional and respectful under pressure. It really is inspiring to see how they handle each hateful and disrespectful situation even though they don't deserve any of it.
I think I can speak for all ARMY when I say. All of ARMY will stand with BTS forever and face every obstacle side by side because together we are truly bulletproof.

When i watch this all i remember how many similar instance were was and it makes my heart burn. There is also so many Korean culture context missing that makes all this so much worse than it sounds in western culture terms.
There is so much hate around BTS and ARMY for years that even ARMY is basically choking on it. When BTS were powerless they were exploited and abused and called nobodies. When they gone higher than anyone before them in k-pop industry they still are bashed. This time for being too successful that it makes everyone else insecure.
And yes ARMY is defensive. Super defensive, cause we always had to be on defense from the start, so even now when we grown into powerhouse on our own, we still cant relax. We still in defense mode, cause we never were treated fairly. And as much as k-pop fans like to lie to themselves and others that it is ARMY who acts entitled and showing off and because of that are not liked. I do have to disagree with something here. This video does not have BTS's mindset. You'll see that BTS is very thankful to each and every interview that took them seriously to every opportunity they have to connect with journalists and news shows and other shows that share them with their audience. They have said many times to the journalists and interviewers thank you for sharing us with your audience for. For connecting us with our army and the world. they do acknowledge that they have been mistreated at times maybe much more than some others but they do not take for granted the times when they were given a chance when they were given a moment and when people gave their time and their platform to highlight BTS. They also understand how ratings and the business works and so they have handled those who rejected them at first but now accept them with grace and understanding. They don't hold it against them and they don't want army to hold against them but to continue to persevere and spread positivity. BTS would be the last ones who want you to hold a grudge or spread anger and cancel culture. They believe that it is through kindness love and hard work that they can overcome their haters. Just like in their mic drop music video they have a mentality of not proving their haters wrong or dissing their haters or making their haters pay. They're mentality is they're going to win them over and make them fans. And if they're just people who love to hate they will say goodbye and not not let them have the power to bring them down. One of the best things too about big hit is how seriously they've taken slander and campaigns to spread malicious and evil gossip about BTS. They've sued thousands of people who have made it their mission to destroy BTS through lies and slander. And those people have learned that in Korea, That's against the law and you will pay. They don't settle either they never settle with these people they always make them pay according to the law.

the time when Jhope held a live alone and everybody asked to see other members until he just gave the phone to Jimin and left (he didn't go on Vlive alone for about a year afterwards i think).
their incidents with saesangs (crazy fans) doing horrible things like chasing them down and stalking them which clearly made them very uncomfortable and scared.
Yoongi going through all the years with his injured shoulder which he luckily now got a surgery for so i hope its gonna get better.
all of them being maliciously cyberbullied. recently Jimin was the target of harassment on twitter (some toxic armys had said something horrible about another group which angered toxic fans in the other fandom and led them to hating on Jimin for some reason) thousands and thousands of tweets about Jimin being a slut and whore, joking about him having an eating disorder and not eating enough, making up rape and pedophile scenarios, and just generally dragging him through the mud for no reason.
the time when V announced that his grandmother had died at a performance and antis started saying he did it for attention and that he deserved it.
there are so many more that i just cant think of now but it really hurts me to think of what they have had to go through and how they still put on great performances for armys.
The most painful for me is when a young Jungkook was disrespected by a tv show called Flower Crew. How badly he was hurt and humiliated. How he begged the Army not to vote for him so they won't be mad at him. How they didn't say sorry but they just justify their actions. Hey, so, I just wanna preface this by saying I’m an ARMY who ults BTS and I genuinely lament the fact that BTS faced and continues to face so many obstacles to their well-deserved success. I’m not denying that they were horribly mistreated and didn’t deserve any of the immense pushback they received.
That being said, though, what K-pop labels and companies do is not a reflection on the character or merit of the artists under those companies. EXO was mentioned a lot in this video and, while it is true that they had a privileged background and SM did a lot of dirtywork to promote them, the members of EXO are extremely dedicated, talented, and deserving people. Remember, as many resources are available to you once you become a trainee, it’s not easy to get into a Big 3 company. These groups and idols are not villains. Don’t let these videos fool you into thinking other idol groups aren’t talented, good people doing amazing things, too.
Subconsciously, I fell for this trap when I first got into K-pop. I thought that BTS were the only group that was “good” in this corrupt industry and refused to look into groups from Big 3 companies, especially EXO, because in my mind they were villains. This, however, is not the case and I think we need to remember that it is possible to separate the behaviors of a company from the artists under that company. It is possible to have these discussions without antagonizing genuinely good, talented people.
I understood what you are saying. I do respect the other groups for their hard work. It’s nothing personal against them it’s just that I personally truly don’t like Kpop in general. This decision came after many many hours trying to listen to the other groups. Their sound just don’t appeal to me. I discovered BTS first which made me explore Kpop and was sadly disappointed thinking other groups would be similar, they are not. To me they all everyone one of them sounds exactly the same. Cookie cutter productions formulated just not my cup of tea. However TXT and Mamamoo to me have their own sound and I do like them a lot. The other groups in my opinion reminds me of high school glee clubs. I’m glad that do have fans. I’m not one but I respect them. Believe me this Army tried but failed so I’m what one would call a BTSpopper. I love them and only BTS. I don’t like when people try to compare other groups to them or try say BTS sounds like some other artist, they don’t they sound like BTS and the beauty of it all they owe no one for their success.
