Nancy! I just came across your excellent video and review on The Believer’s Bible Commentary and I ordered this on Monday from Amazon for around $23. It is my very first commentary. Thanks for doing this! It is more thorough than other reviews I have looked at. I look forward to getting it. May you continue to be blessed 😇! 😎
Thanks for your review. Amazon can have it to my house in two days. Then my wife will have it in about two minutes. I may have to order two. Thanks for helping me spend my hard-earned money. LOL. Good review.
I bought it for $23 on Amazon. It was described as a “very good copy”. I am extremely pleased with it! It is a Great bible commentary! Your review was excellent! Stay blessed!😎😇😍😊💗💕🌷🌹🌺🌸💚💛🩵💜🩷❤️🧡✝️
I was just looking at eSword’s available resources to buy and it looks like they have the 1st edition. Good to know it's still a good one. Thanks for watching and sharing ♥️
It's a good commentary but I do not know all the books of the Bible in order and it does not tell what book of the Bible and what the chapter starts on.
The table of contents gives the order of the books, but the New Testament table of contents isn't in the beginning of the commentary, but at the beginning of the New Testament commentary. You could put a tab at those table of contents for easy reference. It does show what book your in using side-tab gray boxes. But you're right in that it's hard to find the chapter breaks in the commentary. The chapter & verse are just in bold and there's no chapter headlines. I've gotten used to it, but it took me a while. Thanks for watching.
Just wondering since I saw somewhere online that William Macdonald is calvanist whether this commentary is bias towards that view or does it also present other views or no views at all. Just wanna know since im curious how they tackle Romans and Ephesians depending on how it they handle those issues.
Hi! Thanks for watching and asking this question. I'm not an expert on calvanist because I'm not one. But from what I understand, I don't see any evidence that he's a calvanist. He states in an article on Ephesians in his commentary that no where does the Bible say that God chooses men to be lost. He also states that the Bible DOES teach that you can know if somebody is ”elect” (or saved) by THEIR response to the gospel. Those who hear and believe are elect. Also I found this excerpt from another book he wrote pushing against a doctrine that makes the elect a ”mystery” that God has withheld true insight from us. It's a little hard to or me to understand all of it and I will say The Believers Commentary is much easier to understand. But some of it is very clear. He says there's no place for Christ in a doctrine that says God elects someone to damnation if they have placed their faith in Christ. If I understand calvanist correctly...it does not seem William Macdonald is a calvanist. Of course that's just an excerpt so I don't know what the rest of the book says. However The Believers Commentary pushes against calvanism as it pertains to election. I hope this answers your question. Here's the excerpt I mentioned: theremonstrant.blogspot.com/2015/04/william-g-macdonald-on-calvinisms.html?m=1
Also here's a tip. Download an app called Life Bible. It. will let you preview The Believers Bible commentary for free for 3 days. Go to Eph 1:4 in the commentary ( you'll have to scroll down a bit). You will see a blue colored bubble that says ”Divine Election”. Click on that and it will open the complete article I referenced. It's an interesting read 😊
It's definitely not a "high-end" book but is more targeted I think towards the average Christian who doesn't spend a lot of money on resources like this. That's my thought on it anyway. But I honestly haven't really noticed or been bothered by the ghosting. It's a very thick book and thicker pages would make it even thicker. But I get that some people want higher quality. Thanks for watching and commenting!

I have the moody bible commentary
Would not buy it due to the ghosting, and how thin the paper is.
