I used to literally hear this game in my sleep, when I was in the Navy, we had this game on the ship and it was right outside my berthing area, so I could always hear the demo playing. I was also in charge of the games on the ship, so of course I always gave myself free credits!
Back in the day when we were so poor we had foodstamps but back then they gave out paper food stamps and I would steal the dollar ones from my mom and go buy a 25 cent pack of gum and get 3 quarters back and pump them into this, double dragon, and street fighter.
Short list of wrestlers & associates from your youth that have passed. Randy Savage, British Bull Dog, Big Boss Man, Kona Crush, Mr Perfect, Rick Rude, Bam Bam, The original Doink, Elizabeth, Sherri, Bad News Brown, Eathquake, Paul Bearer, Giant Gonzalez, Luna Vachon, Owen heart, Hawk, The Sheik, Yokozuna, Gorilla Monsoon, Brian Pillman.
ahh the memories.. This game had a hold on me, back in the days where every mall and 7-11 had an arcade. This game used to get me everytime I spent many quarters on this puppy.
7 Eleven, back in the early 1990's, my late aunt Marliyn Sherman; after taking me to the Cunningham Pool complex in my hometown of Vallejo, Ca I would play this game (My favorite arcade at the time) constantly it seemed like, ahhh yah heartwarming good memories.
16 years ago my dad bought this from someone for $150 and needless to say this game is still bad ass. I wasnt born yet when the game came out but 29 years later here we are. It cant be replacated
The announcer was fucking rad in this game. I love the way he calls the match. Best announcer of all wrestling video games. Period. Gorilla Press. Ultimate Spear. Ultimate Splash. 1-2-3 R.I.P.
all time the best wwf arcade game and probably one of the better simpler wwf games in their history ..... takes me back id always spend money on that game
I used to spend a lot of lunch money at the local video store in high school to play this game with friends during off campus lunch break. We'd all put in and just play and talk shit to one another. Great times back then.
I remember I used to LOVE going to Vegas with the family just because I was able to spend the entire day at the arcade and play games like this. Ahhhh to be a kid in the 90's again.
A true classic this one. The gameplay was quick and moves were more fluid than that of other similar games like it.The only dissapointment was in tag tournament mode you couldn't choose Animal and Hawk "Legion of Doom" as a tag team, even after beating them twice. However I too agree best wrestling game all time.
I downloaded some of these guys which weren't on WWE 2K14, and had a battle royal with them, on a downloaded WrestleFest arena. Pretty Nostalgic. R.I.P. Mr. Perfect, Big Boss Man, Earthquake, Road Warrior Hawk, and Crush. Bossman, Warrior, Earthquake, Demolitian, and Jake Roberts need to be in the Hall of Fame.
Hogan & The Road Warriors back then those 3 and of course Ultimate warrior were the only reason I watched Wrestling. I’m a huge Hall & Nash fan but to this day imo Road Warriors are the greatest tag team of all time. Getting to play as them in this game was insane to me lol
Not sure if this released after the Hart Foundation split and Bret started his singles career, but I would've loved had him and Anvil been included in WrestleFest along with probably Macho Man Randy Savage and British Bulldog. A 16-man roster on this would've made this game 10x more epic.
I always wished they didn't have demolition and instead put in Bret Hart and Randy Savage. That would have made this probably the best selection of wrestlers in a wrestling game ever.
Neil A yeah why the hell didn't they have "Macho Man? He was more "over" than any of those other superstars with the two exceptions of "Hulk Hogan" & ' "Warrior" after all.
I remember going to the arcade and running straight to this game. I have it as an emulator but for some reason it doesn't feel the same to me playing on a desktop. It's still my favorite wrestling game of all time mainly because my team Demolition is in it.
LOVED this game! I fondly (well, now) remember being eliminated in the Royal Rumble mode in a matter of seconds, left to wonder WTF just happened...? Thanks for sharing!
They need to revise this with some extra guys like Rick Rude, Randy Savage, Hart Foundation, etc from that time. Then just add some more matches and enhance gameplay. I would get it for sure
Sgt. Slaughter's Cobra Clutch in this game should've been the same as Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Dream, then it would've been the one that we knew of.
Those mode descriptions are hilariously Engrish. "Choose 1 wrestler and beat wrestlers one after another come to fight with. Get them out of the ring of get fall and be a champion."
@DVAcme I could NEVER understand what the fuck they were saying, Thanks for clearing that up!! I always thought it was down to the noise of all the other arcade games!!
Hogan and the Ultimate Warrior in the early 90's.... wow.... when these two got together either as a team or across the ring from each other there was always this crazy electricity. Not the best two technical wrestlers. But damn could these guys pack a stadium.
I could've owned the arcade with all the quarters and tokens I put into that game. Man, that's the business right there!!! Nowdays these video game companies wanna make isht difficult!!! Wanna make sure the virtual half-naked chick look realistic enough, instead of focusing on more funfactor. No wonder the games NOW are more easier to beat than yesteryear's games. Very refreshing to see that game again. Now why the hell they didn't put it on SNES or Genesis??
R.I.P CURT HENNING AKA MR PERFECT R.I.P MICHAEL JAMES HEGSTRAND AKA HAWK R.I.P RAY TRAYLOR AKA BIG BOSS MAN R.I.PJOHN TENTA AKA EARTHQUAKE R.I.P BRIAN ADAMS AKA CRUSH !!!!!!!
i ran out of quarters and died, some guy comes along and says, mind if I play? I said yeah, he put in quarters, and i went and told my dad he told the guy to let me play, I ended up playing on that guys money lol
I've beat this game. My tag team I came up with was the Big Boss Man and Jake the Snake Roberts. Ending of each match would be the Boss Man Slam and then have Jake finish them off with the ddt
I used to literally hear this game in my sleep, when I was in the Navy, we had this game on the ship and it was right outside my berthing area, so I could always hear the demo playing. I was also in charge of the games on the ship, so of course I always gave myself free credits!
Always fascinated me how those carriers were basically floating cities. Thanks for your service.
Was you an SH? SK?
My eyes are literally tearing up watching this. I can remember going to the co-op arcades as a kid and playing this game for hours. Loved this game
I felt it too all hall of famers on this game
Back in the day when we were so poor we had foodstamps but back then they gave out paper food stamps and I would steal the dollar ones from my mom and go buy a 25 cent pack of gum and get 3 quarters back and pump them into this, double dragon, and street fighter.
My all time favorite arcade game! It's the only wrestling game that I can remember that has Demolition..
I think this is the only video game that has smash in it
Short list of wrestlers & associates from your youth that have passed.
Randy Savage, British Bull Dog, Big Boss Man, Kona Crush, Mr Perfect, Rick Rude, Bam Bam, The original Doink, Elizabeth, Sherri, Bad News Brown, Eathquake, Paul Bearer, Giant Gonzalez, Luna Vachon, Owen heart, Hawk, The Sheik, Yokozuna, Gorilla Monsoon, Brian Pillman.
I live next to a college back in the days and they had a small arcade with this game in it and me and my cousin always went over there to play as kids
I remember this at the Odeon Brighton along with The Simpsons arcade game.
Street Fighter was at the swimming pool restaurant.
that demo music get's me so PUMPED!!
I hear you! That intro music is epic!
ahh the memories.. This game had a hold on me, back in the days where every mall and 7-11 had an arcade. This game used to get me everytime I spent many quarters on this puppy.

So cool
Back in the day when you could say the word "wrestling" in Vince's program.
Dang, RIP to half the roster
what a great INTRO!!!
WWF Wrestlefest is the best wrestling game ever made in my opinion. To me it just captures the essence of the WWF.
Just for clarity:
Animal: Listen up! We snack on danger, dine on death!
Hawk: You'll fail like every gerbil face stinks we've faced! Hyaaa!
Out of all the guys on this game, 5 have passed away, 4 are in the WWE Hall of Fame, and 3 of them haven't been seen in wrestling in years!
In my opinion this is the best wrestling game ever. A lot more fun than the ones out now.
Good old days...
THE BEST ARCADE EVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not holding my breath or anything but it would be a dream come true to see this game on Xbox live's Game Room.
I miss fun games like this but I am impressed by WWE games graphics now.
kinda makes you look back when hulkamania was running wild in '91.
Can't wait for this to come out tomorrow. Good memories of WWF/E... Unlike today.
wow this game takes me back, late 1989 and early 1990 going to the video shops and chip shops to play this!
Bossman, Warrior, Earthquake, Demolitian, and Jake Roberts need to be in the Hall of Fame.
warroir and jake went in this year
Only half the roster is still alive. This was my childhood at Chinatown Fair
They used to have this inside the movie theatre at my local mall I was addicted to this shit best wrestling game ever
Hogan & The Road Warriors back then those 3 and of course Ultimate warrior were the only reason I watched Wrestling. I’m a huge Hall & Nash fan but to this day imo Road Warriors are the greatest tag team of all time. Getting to play as them in this game was insane to me lol
WWF Wrestlefest was the best arcare game EVER.
Love playing as Hulk Hogan and The Ultimate Warrior
I just saw Animal not to long ago near his home in Lake Minnetonka here in Minnesota. His kid is playing for the St.Louis Rams
Half of the rosters in this game are already gone.
Ultimate Warrior,
Mr Perfect,
Hawk,
Animal,
Big Boss Man,
Earthquake,
As well as Mean Gean.
RIP.
I missed more class playing this game back in high school than any other..including MK
Wow. The "Winners Don't Use Drugs" PSA in a wrestling game?
Irony at its finest, especially in the early 90's.
This game is more fun then the current games out. Considering it's age, clearly graphics dont mean anything. The fun factor is what counts.
Fed this machine a high-silver coin diet as a Kid!!!!!
Not sure if this released after the Hart Foundation split and Bret started his singles career, but I would've loved had him and Anvil been included in WrestleFest along with probably Macho Man Randy Savage and British Bulldog. A 16-man roster on this would've made this game 10x more epic.
this game and street fighter 2 had the longest lines when i was a kid.
I always wished they didn't have demolition and instead put in Bret Hart and Randy Savage. That would have made this probably the best selection of wrestlers in a wrestling game ever.
+Neil A If you look at the stickers on the cabinet, you'll find a Bushwackers sticker. Can you imagine what they would have been like in the game?
Neil A yeah why the hell didn't they have "Macho Man? He was more "over" than any of those other superstars with the two exceptions of "Hulk Hogan" & ' "Warrior" after all.
best gaming music!!! This and Ninja Turtles water level!
my childhood right here
All time favorite growing up, would play this ardcade while my mother did groceries,
I remember going to the arcade and running straight to this game. I have it as an emulator but for some reason it doesn't feel the same to me playing on a desktop. It's still my favorite wrestling game of all time mainly because my team Demolition is in it.
The best 2D WWF game hands down!
I spent hrs playing this as a kid.
So sad to see so many of that roster has unfortunately passed away.
out of this lot only hogan, slaughter, smash, dibiase and roberts are alive now :/ this got me into the WWF back in the 90's great game of it's time
jazza2009uk You forgot Animal.
man i hope 2k sports can make they're 1st wwe game as fun as this one was
30th Anniversary of WWE WrestleFest (1991-2021)
LOVED this game! I fondly (well, now) remember being eliminated in the Royal Rumble mode in a matter of seconds, left to wonder WTF just happened...? Thanks for sharing!
I wish they would re-release this game on modern gaming systems maybe even add wrestlers.
They need to revise this with some extra guys like Rick Rude, Randy Savage, Hart Foundation, etc from that time. Then just add some more matches and enhance gameplay. I would get it for sure
Damn I can't even begin to tell you how many hours were logged and money spent at the arcade due to this game. True classic.
I'm pretty sure they did, it's by LJN. I've played it on the mega drive. It's called WWF Super WrestleMania
Mr Perfect, Big Boss Man & Earthquake RIP
Animal: Hahaha! We Snack On Danger! Dine On Death!
We'll Bury Every Gerbil Faced Geek We Face! Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh!
Sgt. Slaughter's Cobra Clutch in this game should've been the same as Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Dream, then it would've been the one that we knew of.
@SLjimbolian at the time this came out he was retired by the warrior at wrestlemania 7, I still wished they put him in.
A+ for humor, good sir!
Love it when they hit the mat. It sounds like a shotgun!!
CLASSIC!!!!! I loved this game.
Those mode descriptions are hilariously Engrish. "Choose 1 wrestler and beat wrestlers one after another come to fight with. Get them out of the ring of get fall and be a champion."
Classic..Mr.Perfect all day
this game was sick
@echo036 no. Thing was that console-wise, Acclaim had the WWF franchise (this even includes the Laughing Joking Numbnuts and their Rainbow of Death)
Add Ultimate Warrior to the list of the fallen. RIP to all.
RIP Ultimate Warrior.
Legion of doom is my favorite wrestlers.
@DVAcme I could NEVER understand what the fuck they were saying, Thanks for clearing that up!! I always thought it was down to the noise of all the other arcade games!!
67th St and 11 ave Luncheonette Brooklyn NY. Yeeaaaaaah.
they should come out with this game will all the current WWE Roster.
Always had to use Hogan and Warrior or Roberts and Perfect. Once LOD hit the Doomsday Device on you, it was game over.
If that's indeed true, then that warrants a purchase from me, and I don't even play the SvR games anymore. Thanks for the info!
5 out of the 12 guys in this game are now deceased. :-(
loved this game...DEFO SHOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE ON XBOX LIVE CLASSICS DOWNLOADS!!!
RIP mean gene 😢
Song=Awesome
Almost every character in the game is now deceased except for Hogan and couple others.

R.I.P CURT HENNING AKA MR PERFECT R.I.P MICHAEL JAMES HEGSTRAND AKA HAWK R.I.P RAY TRAYLOR AKA BIG BOSS MAN R.I.PJOHN TENTA AKA EARTHQUAKE R.I.P BRIAN ADAMS AKA CRUSH !!!!!!!
The best arcade game of all-time. Only rivaled by The Simpsons arcade game.
I was like 9 or 10 when this came out
Oh, to be six again.
The best game EVER!!!!!!!!!!
i ran out of quarters and died, some guy comes along and says, mind if I play? I said yeah, he put in quarters, and i went and told my dad he told the guy to let me play, I ended up playing on that guys money lol
Surprised Macho Man wasn't in this.

7 out of the 12 man roster has now passed away. RIP to all these legends.
@@KoTM25681 don't forget Demolition Crush that I forgot. Sorry about that.
SHOUTOUT TO YOU FOR POSTING THE UPDATED LIST OF WWF/WWE LEGENDS WE HAVE LOST!!
I had to go with my team of Mr Perfect and the Ultimate Warrior.
WWE'S MAKING A NEW 1 LOOK IT UP
at least this game had better commentary than the wwe games do now lol
@tekken278 THQ is remaking this game but for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch only. Hopefully, they'll announce an Xbox Live and PSN release soon.
I've beat this game. My tag team I came up with was the Big Boss Man and Jake the Snake Roberts. Ending of each match would be the Boss Man Slam and then have Jake finish them off with the ddt
I love this Game
Why WWE never have this out for NES or N64 ,or Super 64
used to play this at my IHOP... Hulk hogannnnnn
