The aria the Diva sings is "Il Dulce Suono," from an Italian opera called Lucia di Lammermoor, and it's known as the "Mad Scene."
The opera has sort of a Romeo and Juliet thing going on. Lucia is in love with Edgardo, but her family hates him. They marry in secret, but before they can consummate the marriage, he has to leave for France, but he promises to come back.
While he's gone, her brother lies to her, saying Edgardo abandoned her and is unfaithful, and the rest of her family pressures/forces her into a political marriage with a guy named Arturo.
On the day of her wedding to Arturo, she is distraught but convinced Edgardo is gone forever. Right after the ceremony, though, he returns, as he promised, but he's shown the new marriage certificate. He freaks and publicly denounces Lucia for being unfaithful. Then he and Lucia's brother get into a duel to the death.
Meanwhile, Lucia goes stark, raving mad and murders Arturo in their bridal bed.
In the "Mad Scene" she sings, in her blood-covered wedding gown, in front of the wedding party. She's hallucinating and oblivious to what she's done.
"The sweet sound, hits me, his voice!
Ah, that voice into my heart decends!
    Edgardo, I surrender to you
A chill creeps into my breast!
    trembles every fiber!
    falters my foot!
Near the fountain next to me sit a while!
Alas! arises a tremendous phantom and separates us!
Here let us take refuge, by the foot of the alter.
    Strewn is it with roses!
A harmony celestial, do you not hear?
    Ah, the marrige hymn plays!
The ceremony for us draws near! Happiness!
Oh, joy that one feels and does not speak of!
    The incense burns!
Brilliant the sacred torches, shining all around!
    Here is the minister!
    Give me your right hand!
    Oh, joyous day!
At last, I am your, at last you are mine,
to me you have been given by God.
    Every pleasure is more grateful,
(it is) to me, with you, more sweet
    From peaceful heaven a smile
    life to us will be."

Fun fact about this film, the maker of the movie, Luc Besson, first conceived of the idea for Fifth Element when he was a teenager in high school and spent the following 15-20+ years bringing it to life. He was almost 40 when the movie released in 1997.

@@mathewkelly9968She’s actually a solid actress, turned in solid performances in Return To The Blue Lagoon and Dazed And Confused. The Messenger and A Perfect Getaway were also well done. She gets slagged for her work in the Resident Evil movies because they were extremely formulaic, but that was largely due to how successful they were, the Saw movies fell into the same trap.

The character Ruby Rhod is played by Comedian and Actor Chris Tucker…
who later portrayed Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour Films with Jackie Chan.
Originally, Opera was sung in Italian, until Mozart started writing Opera in German. Caused quite a stir at the Time too.

"how she can read?" I think maybe... the writer intended that the extra DNA was encoding for much more than a blank slate human. Perhaps it included information that was then recreated in her mind (when they reformed her off her DNA). If I'm wrong there is probably some commentary somewhere by the writer saying what the story is behind it.

This movie failed in the theaters, it was a bomb. Mostly because it was advertised as some sort of Star Wars like epic rather than an absolute silly and fun Scifi adventure. It grew a huge cult following from rentals. Girls to this day still show up to Halloween parties in the wide Leeloo costume. The actress for Leeloo was a super model, and went on to star as the main character in the Resident Evil franchise of films. Milla Jovovich, Ukrainian mother, Serbian father.

Its just that its not very familiar to th english speaking world thats why a lot of people think its unique .. its in a "new wave" style which I cant easily explain, but absurdity hyper-complexity moral ambiguity and surrealism are big themes its doing. Its a whole thing maybe google it if youre very interested .. main artist who uses this style is maybe Mobius, a french comic artist very influential.

14:27 wile the idea of creating a body with machines is theoretically possible, you can’t make something from nothing and even if we can create a whole body, it’s possible that body may never have a soul. It may either be basically a meat puppet, or an abomination with only ability to imitate human emotions and all that but not understand it or replicate it perfectly. I can only imagine the type of psychopath someone that can imitate empathy but never truly understand it would be.
