I'm from South Florida, but our family loves to stay at Siesta Key in Sarasota, with the kids because it's very family friendly place and the beaches are beautiful!. We have pretty beaches here in Miami & Ft. Lauderdale areas, but they are more gear to tourists, Siesta Key if a very laid back area, so I can see why your parents love the place.

Not sure if you remember Hurricane Andrew, when it hit South Florida we had pure devastation for quite a while. Do to that my brother's employer sent him to Sarasota to work in their office (the office in Miami was destroyed), he worked there for 6 months and came home on the weekends, we would take advantage of his apartment right on the beach during the weekends he was back home, and that's how we came to LOVE Sarasota. If you decide to visit reach out to me and I can provide a few places you should definitely visit or stay at.😊

To one of my favorite couple I must say that Your travel blog really do just to the continent especially exposing the natural beauty of Kenya for too long we as members of the African diaspora has seen the impoverish and malnourished children who have no food and the iconic flys on the children faces, no malls and market with all the organic food so shout out to all the You Tuber channel who are letting us brother and sister in the diaspora are eager to visit the continent and move back home and contribute and showcase the African continent to us as a people. I am also a fair-skinned Caucasian woman. I lived in Hawaii for 8 years, & needed to protect my skin from the intense tropical sun. # IT WILL GET YOU!! I used 75% & 100% SPF Sunscreen & found out that it wasn't enough to protect my skin. I needed to cover my bare skin with sleeves or a loose scarf & wear a sun hat with a wide brim to protect my face, throat, & neck. After Leaving Hawaii and returning to Oregon, USA mainland....I can see evidence of SUN DAMAGED Skin; regardless of my efforts to avoid it. However, I hate to think what would have happened if I hadn't taken the protective measures that I did. SUN GLASSES are Important, too.
I love Nanyuki and Meru towns I was working in Isiolo sometimes around 2021 and I ensured I visited the two towns and at least spend a night or two before heading to Isiolo and you have just reminded me of cedar mall a very nice place to be please also check put Sanden mall in Meru

Coconut oil is better for the environment as suntan lotions is one of the substances that’s destroying the plants and reefs in the ocean. I think you should also wear a hat to protect your face. I try to wear my hat as much as possible. Get some aloe and apply it to your face. This is your life now so protecting your skin is extremely important.
I am sure your parents enjoy Sarasota. I live a little way from there. There is a wonderful Mennonite community there who have great markets and bakeries that I travel to often. Their baked goods are delicious!
Use Shea butter it's supposed to be good for your skin and hair protect your skin protector of the sun to keep from burning which is very bad for your fair complexion! Blessings!

Sweetie if you can’t find sunscreen lotion just get used to applying Coconut oil on your skin. It’s even better than the lotions.
