This is my second video. Put more detail into it hope it helps and enjoy. Watch me grow and get better at editing my videos. Still need a computer and editor as I'm doing this through my phone so please bare with me. Subscribe for more 👍
I wanted to share this with anyone else who is trying to diagnose the problem. If you press the panic button on your fob and the horn starts blasting then for sure it's the clock spring that needs replacing.
Great tip! I was thinking I'd definitely want to run some leads directly to the horns first to rule out horn failure, but you just saved me time. Hadn't thought about the panic button.
Time to order a clock spring...
Thank you for this video! You're the only person that did one of these that shows you need to pull off the back plate of the old clock spring and put it on ther other one. I went thru the whole process and thought that I had the wrong part so I reassembled and went to search for correct part. Then I found this video and smacked myself in the head and went back out and got it fixed. Thank you again sir! -2013 Tacoma 4cyl Automatic.
Shawn Davis did you have cruise control? Thanks
Had a new alarm installed after two cat thefts last year thought my prob was the alarm was worried bout passing inspection , this video just showed me exactly whats happening thank you and God bless
Battery unhooked the entire time so everybody knows !!!!! just i case i missed him saying it.
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. THIS TOTALLY DID THE TRICK FOR MY TRUCK.
This video was amazing and absolutely helped me fix my horn on my tundra. Good job bro much love to ya.
Just did mine. Many thanks appreciate the video.
Thank you for the video! This was perfect to resolve the issue I was having!
Gracias, ya lo cambié y fue fácil.
Something I learned and did not want to learn is if it gets out of line mint and mine did not have the orange thing in it so I had to turn it all the way and make sure it had three and a half turns one way and 3 1/2 turns the other way or if I would have put it back together the way it was I would have had two turns one way and four turns the other and it would have broke the cable. On the very bottom at the clock there is an arrow line it up with that Arrow if you spin it all the way until it stops do it three times from that point and stop it and then it turn it the other way it should go three and a half one way and 3 and 1/2 the other way. If it doesn't have the orange thing in it.
Thanks!!! Ride is honking again!
Awesome video dude
Matthew Koerner thanks hope it helped you. Help my channel grow dont forget to sub 😁.
Great video!! Thanks --- Question on a 2005 Tundra looks similar, my horn stopped working and my airbag light came on. Diagnostic computer said one of the connectors was bad.. do you think changing the clock spring will solve both the airbag connection issue and the horn?

Great tutorial sg OC! I have issues with my Tacoma horn as well. Question: does it work on a similar way for a 2012/2013 Tacoma access cab, 4x2, 2.7-L, 4-Cylinder, 5-speed manual transmission? Can you show it please?
Charlie C yes it is the same way. Thanks for the comment. Let me know what you've done so far
Great video can you please do a air bag removal video
What about the airbag how did you disconnected without discharging.
Good work
Great video! Thank you very much.
How did you remove cover... you skipped that step, do we have to worry about airbag?
It's best to disconnect the battery before starting to work on the steering wheel system. What cover exactly ?
Oh I figured out what your talking about. It's in the reassemble part towards the end
Skip to 20:38
Would the clock spring affect the cruise control? Or just the horn?
Excellent
Hi bro from Cameroon
Good Job man !!
Will this be the same on a 2014 toyota tundra 1794 model?
Awesome video. One question, did you have to disconnect the battery while you were replacing the part?
I recommend you disconnect the battery. Both ground and positive cables. I have done this a few times already so I did not. So yes disconnect it for your safety🤘
Outstanding, can you telling me the cost of parts and labor for you installing that please? It will give me an idea of how much for an install. Thankyou your video was very detailed!
use a sharpie, mark the steering shaft too the wheel splines.
How did you remove the cover shown at 8:07??
I have horn working only if my sterling is to the right position is that mining same part need to be replaced
I have a sequoia the horn works when parked (for inspection.. lol). At highway speed the steering wheel honking area diminishes. Could be out of balance tires?
Great video!
Thanks appreciate it. Many more videos to come around 👍
I replaced my clock spring and the horn worked for one month and now its gone again, Do you have any idea why it may have failed so quickly again?
My OCD won't allow me to guess at putting the wheel back on by eye. Any way to mark it so it goes on exactly the way it came off?
Hi dear, I have the same model 2008 Tundra. The horn wears out, and every time I change a part, it wears out in a week or so. Are there reasons!! Is there a correct way to install? Can you help me bro, thank you
Did this truck have cruise control? Thanks
Good video
Dang foo... Your toolbox is organized as fuck 0:38
Makes it easy to find the right tool when you need it. Not like me, I can waste 30 minutes looking for a tool sometimes.
Question: this part controls the horn AND cruise control? Need to know. Please.
Does the 2011 Toyota Tundra have a relay? Besides the fuse
I have a 2012 toyota tundra and horn, cruise control, off road bottom are not working also airbag light is on do think that might be because of the clock spring ??
So does the Airbag light need to be reset after this task is completed? If so is that a dealer issue or can it be done yourself
Hi, nice video, question for you. WHen my steering wheel is straight hornk doesnt work, but if I turn it to the right or left it works. what can it be?
Will be this part in the video
nevermind im minute 8:00 from your video you said about angles, so that mean that i need to change it
Hi sorry to bother you man, my 2011 rav4 horn doesn't work when the steering wheel is straight. But if it is in angle either the right or left it works. Should I replace the clock spring? Or it is something else.
My horn doesn’t work even when I turn the wheel to test it at every degree... Should I assume it’s the clock spring? I made sure the fuse is good which it is...
chefender77 same problem with mine
Did you replace the clock and did it solve the problem ?
That special tools you used at 3:15 necessary or can the steering wheel be removed without it and access the clockspring?
I referred to ua-cam.com/video/VblczY9PzMc/v-deo.html (around 7:10) and this covers your question.
What do you guys charge to do a horn on a 2012 Toyota Tundra
Hello I have same problem but also me radio control dont works and the cruise control dont work too, I can fixed just replace this part or I need change something else
That would be something else
It could be the switches themselves or a fuse or something in the wiring.
My horn worked and just died on me mid use. Could it be the same issue, being the clock spring
Where do i find the click spring for the horn?
I have a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, my fuses are good, my horn works, I try turning my steering wheel and press the horn but nothing neither way I turn the steering wheel the horn still doesn’t go off, what do you think it could be?
Thanks in advance!
Hey. So if I read correctly you said it works but when you turn the steering wheel it does not ?
If everything else checks ok you most likely have a bad clock spring. Let me know what you find out or if you end up replacing it.
Where is the horn relay located?
2014 Tundra. Horn wont beeb if steering Right or driving straight. Only beebs if steering left.
how much does the clock spring cost ?
My car Toyota Corolla 2005 has code p1811 l replaced the clock spring I raised the code but still the light is on and still shows the same code ..any suggestions on what to do next thanks
Double check make sure the connections are good. If not you probably have a wiring issue
Look like that's a faulty pressure control solenoid.
@@irockablobeye6525 l fixed it l was using the wrong part or it was defected thank you for your videos it saved me a lot and money ...
Is it the same for 2006 Tundra?
Should be similar
I have a 2012 tundra and the horn/cruise and steering controls don’t work would that part you installed be the problem ?
casey williams have you checked all your fuses ? And try turning the steering wheel and press the horn every degree you turn, if it works on some spots then yes replace the part i replaced if it doesn't there will be other issues. You might have to disassemble the steering wheel and switches if you dont find other causes
casey williams a problem with the cruise control can also be from other parts like wheel speed sensors , ect
I’ll try that and yes fuses are good thanks man
casey williams yea let me know what happens
Do you know why my 4hi and 4low is blinking?
You completely left off the part about removing air bag!🤕
Only thing I don't like is no blue loctite or proper torque of steering wheel nut
my horn doesn't work, and the fuse is good !! Do you know how much this will run me to fix?
Christina Haddadin anywhere from $300-$500 depending on price of parts needed. You try turning your steering wheel and pressing the horn
Yes, if the steering wheel is turned it works, but not when the wheel is straight
Christina Haddadin then yes it most likely is this same problem. If nothing is loose when its opened replacing this part that I showed in the video should fix your problem.
Whats a job like this normally cost? I was quoted $620?
Doesn't sound too bad. The part itself is around 200-300 at the dealer. Can't remember the exact price. But they should be charging about 2 hours or so in labor. Around$ 80-$120 an hour sounds ok. Just try to find the price in your area for parts. Then you can see how much they charging you labor
They go off the books in labor. I don't know the exact time on the books
@@irockablobeye6525 Thanks a ton this really helps. Great video by the way really shows how labor intensive it can be!
There's a fuse puller in the box. Lol. To the right. It's white
you did not remove the battery cable
Clock Spring
U said test it out.and honk didint work.
Looks like at the end the horn didn’t work!
Minute 21.33
I’m not sure but if it does work then you are a professional thank you for sharing!
