Hello. I am enjoying your channel. I have a question. I would really appreciate if you could reply when you have some time. Section A went really well for me up until the last question. I had got 12 points until the last question. As I read it I thought this is easy peasy but then realised based it was not as easy. I dont understand your answer because when I calculate 3 hours x 80 it gives me 240 pounds but she paid £140 only. I did (and I know it's wrong as well but are you able to explain to me why I am not able to get this right pls): 50+30= 80 so I assumed the hourly rate was 80 pounds. so 80 goes into 140 one time so I have one hour then 60 is 3/4 of 80 so 1 hour and 3/4 was my answer but I check it on the calculator is was correct 80 x 1.75 = 140 pounds. looking forward to your reply. many thanks.
I think the problem is applying order of operation rules (BIDMAS). You need to do x before +. The £50 is fixed and doesn't change with the number of hours. So, for 1 hour it would cold 50+30=80, 2 hours would be 50+60=110, 3 hours 50+90=140, 4 hours 50+120=170...
Can you do the pass paper I’d 2023
I'm working up to those, still got some more for 2022 to do first.
Thanks but they don’t let us to use calculator 😮
Not in the non-calculator section, which is at the start, but you can in the second section, which is three quarters of the overall marks.
@@SimonHTT I am recently starting studying again and I found very helpful solving the problems. Do you have more explanation of shapes and measurements? Or any link to I can check
@@ashly479 I don't think I have any specific videos for those. You can probably find something useful on a site like Maths Genie. You might need to look under the foundation GCSE section.
@@SimonHTT thanks 🙏
