@ohmproduct Yep, with S&H being off the former. I was fortunate enough to catch them during the OoaK tour, in a club that held 200-300 max. Absolute monsters, all of them, but Berlin still sticks out in my mind as being special. Still have 3 or 4 vinyls collecting dust somewhere... OoaK is simply a must-have for anyone that's a fan of Fusion.
Actually the band was called 'Bruford' who recorded 4 albums. It was the lineup with Allan as seen here that recorded 2 albums and it's 'Feels Good to Me' not 'Feel So Good to Me'.
Probably the best guitar player, the best bass player, the best drummer (and who is to say there's anyore better at playing keyboard than Dave Stewart?) in one go.... Disclaimer: I know there is not necessarily such thing as "the best player" but you get the drift...
Who would have thought Jeff and Allan were such sexy young lads? Simply brilliant. Is is just me or is the old black jazz bass the best tone Jeff has ever had? I think it slipped substantially with humbucking puckups. Ditto for Allan - his "fat strat" Charvels (which he basically invented) was also his best tone ever.
Hats off to Chriskkboongg. Subscribe every line. Personally, I think that both groups created a powerful chemistry and a great bunch of albums in their own right. Maybe some confusion comes in consideration of the fact that John Wetton co-wrote the song Beelzebub but never played it, as far as I know, with or without UK, a typical case of "song migration". I still wonder how it may have sounded.
@Steven4466 You are incorrect on three accounts. 1. This group is Bruford, which Bruford formed after leaving U.K. 2. Wetton didn't sack Holdsworth. Allan left along with Bruford. 3. Wetton is not overrrated. He is underrated.
In the Dead of Night is awesome. AH's solo was referred to by Bruford as 2 minutes of the most blissful liquid guitar you're ever likely to hear (something like that) Actually, it's like 3 minutes... lol
I'll agree with you that Berlin is probably a better bass player then Wetton, but don't underestimate the talent of John. He's an excellent bass player & his voice was darn haunting at times. Robert Fripp wouldn't have played with him if he wasn't any good. Berlin is something else though
@Steven4466 No worries you didn't offend me I'm too old for that Besides I believe that somehow I'm related to ducks, no to (as my grand, granddad Darwin used to say) monkeys as everybody else So all the insults either intended or not affect me as water affects my cousins the ducks I wrote and uploaded here "Inspired By UK" it's a good tune, give it a listen As for Allan I pity him actually I read and saw a couple interviews with him It seems he is never satisfied with his playing and his sound
This affair misrepresenting the new Bruford Band as a new UK is news to me. In hindsight it is so obvious that John Wetton & Eddie Jobson are UK as evidenced by their 2nd & 3rd lps. Doesn't sound like an honest mistake.
Jeff is better as far as technique is concerned but Wetton's playing sounds like a stalking ogre, heavy, purposeful, uncluttered and exactly what's needed. Just listen to "In the Dead of Night" it's basically a repeated root note in an odd time and it's awesome to hear AH solo over something like that. Just right
I think Annette Peacock is a bit too eccentric. She speaks more than she does sing. I don't really think it fits with the music. I'd rather just enjoy the music. Just my preference.
Just WOW so tight
Allen's fingers just flowing barely moving so tight with the drums
Peace ✌️ n serenity
Such extraordinary musicians! 1979 and still going
Absolute supergroup. I'm a huge fan and have followed the careers of: Bruford, Holdsworth & Berlin.
I could listen to this music all day long. It never gets old.
i just cant get enough of allans playing with this band
Sounded great the first time I heard it in the 1970s and it is still amazing today.
these time signatures are insane
Bill Bruford the anchor of this ship.

@ohmproduct This band name is even shorter than one might suppose. It appears on the cover as "Bruford."
Jeff Berlin BTM: Before The Moustache
I wish I knew who was playing when...Bruford versus Bozzio...

bassist sounds very close to Chris Squire's style. In fact, this reminds me of "Fish out of Water".
@Steven4466 Stephen Speaks The Truth. Greatest Band Ever.
0:35 Zach Braff on bass! lol
Actually, this group was just called Bruford, not UK or Bill Bruford Band.
Rock goes to college
Um, Percy Jones anyone? Tony Levin? Stanley Clark? There are some GREAT bassists out there........

well my friend I respect and admire Jeff Berlin but is my point of view don't you think
@Steven4466 The way I heard it, for those in the know Jimi Hendrix happens to be the greatest guitarist of all time
TosiekDegutis
We know that! Allen is one of the greatest as well, may he R.I.P.
