It's not all about performance. The most important thing is to have fun. And that's where Tamiya delivers 🙂 great review and run 👍

Thank you! I completely agree! This hobby isn’t much if you’re not having fun, and I have yet to run a Tamiya kit that wasn’t fun.

Love the name of the channel, my wife introduced me to Trigun a few years ago. If you're liking the fun factor of the Grasshopper, I recommend a Lunchbox or Midnight pumpkin. They have the same gearbox as the Grasshopper on the cw01 chassis which is made for wheelies.

Thank you! You’re the only person who has caught the reference, or at least said anything about the name so far! I’ll be building another Tamiya kit around April and the Lunchbox is definitely a contender. I’ll probably run a poll or something to help decide what to build when we get a little closer. That’s neat that the Lunchbox/Midnight Pumpkin run the same gearbox as the Grasshopper - I didn’t know that. Thanks for watching!

Great video, I’m planning to get my first Tamiya kit to build myself sometime soon and I’m tossing around getting a grasshopper but not 100% sure yet. The candy green edition looks great!

Thank you! The Grasshopper is a solid choice but whatever you wind up getting will be fun I’m positive of that. I really can’t wait to build another one!

@@Bash_TheStampede I’m torn because Tamiya offers a lot of great kits but feel my first one should be a Hornet or Grasshopper

I completely understand that feeling. I spent way too much time looking at all of the different kits online myself. The Grasshopper is super affordable in candy green but the Hornet is higher performing! They’re both fun though. I hope you enjoy whichever you get!

You got my sub. I like people that like Tamiya RC. I own 2 of these candy green Tamiya Grasshopper. I reckon in a car as simple and light as this the fastest motor i would use is probably a sport tuned Tamiya or around 20-21 turn , nothing faster. I tried a 12 turn core rc motor in my Tamiya Hornet and it was too much. The poor little hornet just couldnt stay rubberside down. I returned the standard silver can Tamiya motir and it was so much more nicer to drive. I run a 2 s lipo nxe battery shorty pack. Maybe because the Battery is so light the car wasnt handling as a NiMH / ni cad battery from the old days were a lot heavier. 👍👌

Thank you for the sub! I tend to like Tamiya people a little more than others myself haha. Yeah I could imagine it doesn’t take too much motor to make a maniac out of the grass hopper. Maybe I’ll pick up a sport tuned. I do plan on doing some mild mods to my grasshopper. Stay tuned if you like Tamiya stuff, I just built a Clod that I’m going to make a video on and I’m going to build at least 3 more kits this year. I may even run a poll for suggestions. Thanks again for subscribing and watching the video!

Nice video!, I just upgraded/downgrade my GH2 from a silvercan 540 to a 380 Sport Tuned motor using a Traxxas 10t pinion. It's a great balance between power, efficiency, and weight

Thank you! Very cool about the Sport Tuned 380. I may look into that at some point because my GH could use a little more go!
