Happy Saturday! In this video I wanted to give you some simple tips and tricks on how you can use reference pictures and turn it into your painting without copying it 1:1! I really hope you find it helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions!
I never thought of using photoshop to combine reference photos together, so clever. Also i really get stuck on the details of the entire picture, thank you for your suggestions. I adore your videos and appreciate them so very much.
Dear Mako, I like to paint tiny european houses, really cute and cozy looking with chimneys and pointy rooftops . I live in Pakistan, we dont have those kind of houses. And I always have to use another artist's painting as reference. Also I find trouble with where to paint the shadows with watercolors. Please do make a future video on a tiny house tutorial
I just recently started out with watercolors, so I'm still really bad, but your videos are why I wanted to try this magical looking medium! As for the reference pictures, I am a photographer, so I just usually paint loosely based on my own photos! Keep up with the BEST watercolor content on youtube!
@@Makoccino no worries! Your channel has provided me with HOURS of amazing content and knowledge, the least I can do is leave a nice comment thanking you hahaha ❤️❤️
What a beautiful piece! Nowadays, I get so busy with school and my schedule that I even forget I have hobbies, and other things to do! Yesterday, I tried to get back into watercolor, but it seems like I just can't. I'll try again later, this video inspired me, thanks !!! ❤️
Why you're always making me satisfying. You're so creative. Way to go mako. When I grow old, I will give you a oscar for the best artist . Love you mako xoxo
Very nice, you make it look easy and inviting! I learned some good tips observing your watercolor techniques. Great job, thanks for posting this video!
Idkw people give thumbs down to these types of videos i mean whats wrong in this video This video is great and it only tries to teach us so why people hate it ukw if you can't support, than stop demotivating too .... Thank you
Thank you! I wouldn't recommend using "normal paper" for watercolor painting because the foundation of watercolor painting is good paper! You won't get the same results, the paper will break and the colors will look pale :/
Excellent video Mako. Very soothing and full of quality content. Information shared in video was really good. Sky in painting was my favorite part of the painting. It looked very natural and real. I love the subjects section for videos. Love the sunset/sunrise drawings made by you so hopefully we can see more of them in upcoming videos. Eagerly waiting for the next video. Keep up the excellent work Mako :D
Thanks that was indeed helpful, I am impressed by the outcome too. Having fun and experimenting is important to enjoy painting and growing as an artist. And maybe you'll surprise yourself with a nice piece.
Hi Great tips!!! Can you tell me where I can buy this metal ruler with handle from? I checked it under your description but no information. Thanks very much.
Thank you for these amazing videos! Could you make one about mixing skin colors one day? Ive seen some tips online but the way you explain stuff is much easier to understand ~
Thank u for the tips! I for sure will check their pages! I love the expressiveness of this painting...lose and and expressive!!! Can we sell our work if we use a royalty free image(that part was kinda unclear to me😅)?
Thank you for sharing these websites. Just doing a casual browse and I have a few great quality pictures I want to paint. I was wondering what is the best varnish to use for watercolour paintings?
I don't usually use any varnish for my watercolor paintings, but there is a varnish spray by the brand schmincke that you can use to seal the painting!
Do you know who Anja is? She’s also an Art UA-camr, who’s currently in Germany as an exchange student, and it would be amazing if you two collaborated. I would love to see you two work together and create something. I freaked out on just imagining seeing you two together! Please please please make it happen. You two are such great inspirations to me and you might even end up making a really good friend.
Hello Mako, This was a great video on references. I find it difficult to find a source of reference for portrait painting. In all sites it mentions a model release might be needed. I only plan to include the painting in my portfolio. Please suggest a site with reference photos of high quality possibly, just for portfolio use..

Oh my God you are so talented
Aww thanks!
what type of brushes i can use regarding acrylic paintings?? can i use simple watercolor brushes
I would use synthetic watercolor brush for acrylic. Watercolor brushes are usually a lot softer and it's harder to move acrylic paint with them
@@Makoccino thank you😍😍
Your the best
Plzz do an art with glass colours
Plzz do a studio setup of your's
Love you Mako.... #makoficationsquad
