- Former first lady Laura Bush will appear with the first lady of Namibia at a panel discussion Monday in New York. They have traveled together as part of the First Ladies' Initiative at the George W. Bush Institute, which urges leaders' spouses to use their status to improve education and health care for women and girls. Mrs. Bush joins us in Studio 57 for an interview you'll see only on "CBS This Morning."

I think Laura Bush is a great First Lady. Eleanor Roosevelt, Betty Ford, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, Jackie Kennedy all played a part in humanizing the Executive Branch and having grace and dignity that often flies above the Fray.

Laura Bush is terrific. There was something I could admire about every First Lady until Mrs. Orange. I’ll admit she dressed well but when you have money that’s not exactly a hard challenge. Melania contributed absolutely nothing to the role.

education system didn't get any better while she was first lady, and when she was asked what was her biggest achievement (as a first lady) her answer starts with "I never thought about it..." Oh really????
She does not have to work, her husband works already. He supports the family financially.
I do think she was trying to redirect the conversation back to the international first ladies project. That's what she came to discuss; she had the published report with her. When she mentioned it at the end of the interview when they were out of time, she sounds annoyed. Not sure I blame her.

When you are married to a politician, especially when you are a first lady. You will immediately act like a politician. Most of these first lady are very intelligent people as well. You don't want to mess with them.
