However, no one told the artist this, so they made a track anyways. This song was never supposed to even exist, as the section where this would've played was never supposed to exist.
In the fight you can actually hear the cowbells! It's a very short part though and I think it's before the 3rd phase kicks in (I am referring to the music track as you can reach phase 3 before you can hear the bells in the game)
I think hopping on planets and asteroids flung at you would be a start and to travel to the next area, they use rock to summon a rocket to break through the security walls. But we know for sure Mayday has a skill to summon a rocket used to attack enemies.

alternate reality where the satelite worked and djss became the new head of NSR, reversing the order in which you play the game. Tatiana pushes you to overthrow NSR to exact revenge, causing her to be the "training boss". Eve, while being loyal to Tatiana, is more loyal to NSR itself, causing her to be the first real boss, followed by 1010/Neon J, reduced to a lowly group of militant androids (and cyborg). Yinu, while being a child, had enough talent to reamin where she is, the middle boss, acting is still mostly irrelevant, with no ties to other chraters and no plans for the future other than playing. SAYU was made DJSS' second in command, as she is a digital being, allowing her to act as the "big brother" (technically sister), as she can permeate the technology in Vinyl City, spying on all activities. And finally, DJ Subatomic Supernova himself. When he sent his music into the far reaches of the universe, he (adlibbing here) made contact with an alien race which grated him materials and energy to rise to power in Vinyl City, and possibly, the world? 0_o
Actually according to the devs they never planned an approach for him, he was always intended to be a tutorial boss. The guy who composed the music to it was never informed on it and the devs decided to just leave it in.
If he had a stage I would imagine it having moving walkways and video screens everywhere with mobiles of other solar systems hanging above. Everything looking like an Observatory at first, but the deeper you go, the dimmer the lights get and the place looks more like a club than an observatory as the mobiles glow like they are under blacklights. The objects that move you through the security locks/walls would be wormholes.
Hearing this compared to NSR Approach Megamix is like being hit by a ghost truck multiple times. I anticipate specific parts, start vibing, then just stop in place going 'hey, where'd that one part go?'
He should've had a simple approach. Only a few of those rhythm stompers. But it would be a more dungeon type of approach, like a puzzle. Take this: The approach only has 4 checkpoints as this is the starter boss. It is a simple puzzle dungeon where you have to mix and match certain objects to the beat of the song. Checkpoint 1: Turn on strobe lights to the bass beat that starts at 0:14. Transform the light to speed up the flash, and attack the light to slow it down. You activate a switch near the grind rail to lock in your answer. Get the flash offbeat and 2 stompers will spawn. Getting the flash right unlocks the rail. Checkpoint 2: Fix the height of the lights to the tones of the cowbell at 0:58 (a 4-tone ring). Transform the main switch to loosen the lights, making them bob up and down going offscreen. There are smaller switches at each pole, Transform to stop that row, and attack the switch to make it move again. You can also stop and restart all rows by attacking the main switch. There is a 5th switch for the grind rail, and you transform it when you locked in your notes. If you get the tune wrong, 3 stompers will spawn. Getting the tune right unlocks the rail. Checkpoint 3: Move planets around to bring the pulse of electric sound heard at 2:13 and 2:17 to the grind rail and give it energy. You are greeted with some stompers in a solar system setting. You must hit the planets into a combination that will bring a sound wave to the center of the orbit for the grind rail. 1 stomper will respawn near one of the planets every so often, and be careful as their stomps can change the combination by moving the planets. The grind rail is unlocked if your combination connects the outer pulse to the central conductor. Checkpoint 4: Dodge the shockwaves synced to the synthesized tune that starts at 3:09 until you can destroy the source of the waves. Very simple, run up the long ramp to defeat the enemy creating the shockwaves at the summit to unlock the doors to the club. There are occasional stompers on the ascent that follow the electric sound of Checkpoint 3 so just be careful. The hijack gate unlocks when you defeat the shockwave source at the top of the ramp. EDIT: The DJ also tends to brag about himself being smart. So his approach being puzzle-based would be accurate to his character.
Honestly I kinda dig what they did more. This is a good song, and I am glad its released, but like the straight approach to the fight kinda set the tone of just bustin in and beating the bosses really good.
