College is not a requirement especially if the student didn't get a scholarship. Why should taxpayers be forced to pay for the years these kids spent in college getting their gender studies degree and being brainwashed by liberal lunatics? Just like everything else in the world, if you borrow money, YOU have to pay it back. The only thing that will raise inflation even more is the government continuing to spend ridiculous amounts of money.

*Its also why I didn't tolerate liberal teachers in High School or college. I have the honor of having retired one such liberal AP History teacher who taught 12th grade AP Hist. She had terrorized students for over 2 decades. I made it my goal early in the year to get rid of her & I did. She retired one week after graduation. She wanted total control over her students. She even wrote her own rules which contradicted the handbook i signed the first day of the first semester & this is what I used to wage war on that woman for the next 5 months and she went to other teachers, she went to the Principal, she went to the President of the Board of Ed. even. She wanted to get me suspended. Nothing she did succeeded & every Monday morning while all the students broke their necks to get to her homeroom 10 mins before the actual bell rang for homeroom I stood outside of her door and waited by myself until the bell rang. She even tried locking the door but because technically the homeroom didn't ring until 7:58 am she wasn't allowed to. She was told she had to keep her door un-locked. And at **7:58** when the homeroom bell rang I went to my seat. She even tried the 'Oh, well lets make sure everyone knows how SPECIAL you are' approach which the Principal pointed out to her was absurd because I was actually just following the rules of the handbook everyone signed the first day. So, I wasn't expecting special treatment. I was actually expecting to be treated like all the other students. This further frustrated this teacher. It climaxed when I started skipping homeroom altogether and she walked into the office and I was in their making copies of some music for something for Wind Ensemble. She grabbed me, took me to the Principal's office and just went off the rails. The principal told her 'He's a good kid. Leave him alone. He told her to give me a hand-written pass.' On the way back to her room she swung around with her purse and tried to hit me in the head. Dumbest thing I ever did was ducking that purse. I ducked, her purse hit the wall and her stuff went flying up one end of the hall and all the way down the other. Her crap was all the way up and down that hallway. That was the day she gave up. I won. 7 weeks later she retired.*

I grew up in poverty... my mom didn't have credit. I didn't have credit. I couldn't even get a loan for the film school I was accepted to... and now... I'm supposed to pay for someone who was privileged enough to receive a loan to get a higher education. Ffs! The cycle needs to stop!

As a nurse and nursing professor who worked in person throughout the pandemic and didn't skirt my teaching by zooming it in, it is hard to want to give money to the teachers who fought to stay home when their students were the lowest to transmit covid.

Teaching nurses online and simulation for clinical experience, then to put them in a hospital during a pandemic without the requisite face to face time is nuts. The majority of them are going to be in the hospital so get them in it. In person and hands on honestly is the only proper way, especially since they are paying. Just like a business, if you pay for a product you should get a return

I’m a nurse with my BSN and I have ZERO student loan debt bc I never took out a loan. There are ways to get a nursing degree and just about any other WITHOUT going into debt you can’t afford. But it will take ALOT of sacrifice and hard work. Pay your own bills.

I’m a conservative. I’m a Mexican woman who grew up in a broken home with alcoholism and I dropped out of high school in my senior year to have a baby. (I have always been pro life) but I was on welfare, had 2 more children and raised them as a single mom without getting child support. When I was 21, I had 3 children on welfare and made a decision that was not going to live waiting for a government handout. I walked to the adult school to finish high school, took classes at community college and worked my way out of minimum wage jobs, barely keeping up with the politicians who kept raising the minimum wage. Every time I got ahead, they raised the minimum and went back to being a minimum wage earner. I started my own business and did that until my children were grown and then I lost everything and was homeless. I am working my way out of debt today & wasn’t privileged enough to go to college. (Ironically, I was in advanced placement classes during high school but my dysfunctional home life was a lot so I drifted into the wrong crowd) so it is insulting for the leftists to think people who worked & clawed their way through life to accomplish something, should pay for their useless liberal arts or gender studies degree. Pay for your own school!

Hey now, you take out a loan and sign your name for it; it is your responsibility to pay it back. When I went to college and got a student loan, I was pleased that the interest rate was so low and my monthly payments were low. But I paid them off as soon as I got a job!! Problem is, these younger generations were raised with the participation mentality and no sense of responsibility.

I didn't go to college and neither did my husband or my children. We have paid our way in this world anyway. Why should we have to pay for someone that made the choice to subsidize the out of control universities?

For those who don’t get it you can look up ‘Rate of Return’ which explains this basic economic principle.
Having people pay their own bills is not radicalized, it is not extremist and it would be unjust to force others to take on the debt that someone else accepted on their own accord.

My daughter went to college to become a teacher and came out with a debt of 120,000.00. My husband and I could not pay for her college we are blue collar workers. We raised our kids to grow up to be responsible. The only way we could of helped her was to put a loan on our house. We found a interest rate at that time that was 2.2 percent which cut her payment in half. She is now married has two kids had worked two jobs for the past 15 years and has never missed a payment to us. My son went to trade school and his loan was not as high. He is 31 Married with two kids and his loan is paid off. I am so proud of them. They both bought houses also. They are hard workers and are paying their own loans that they chose to make. They don’t expect free.
Your teacher daughter has 2 jobs bc teachers work 7 months of the year but get paid as if they work 12. Most teachers have “2 jobs.”

If you have college debt & you don't feel like you should have to pay for it. You're privedged. It's called buyer's remorse. Deal with it. You purchased a product. Might be a lousy product but, it's yours.
I went to a post secondary school for M.A. MY last week of class before getting assigned to clinicals when I get to class everyone was outside waiting to go in which was weird and when they let us in we were met with an announcement school went bankrupt and there would be no more classes go home. I took out a large loan for this and the government doesn't forgive it either. So as a widow with 4 children I busted my azz to keep my payments up. Then I ended up in hospital, lost my job and car and defaulted. Found another job later, but was so far behind, had to save for another car and I paid when I could, and it took years with interest rates but I did it. Then later decided I want to do more and looked into several different schools. None of the options made it that important to go through that hell again. If you aren't deeply dedicated to finishing don't start. If you are bad at paying bills, don't do it. And if it's to make a good living, you don't need to spend that kind of money to do so. Schools don't educate, they dumbify and indoctrinate. Don't.

Because they have bankruptcy protection and those with a worthless piece of paper do not. Not having bankruptcy protection for student loans makes no sense when people can ring up thousands of dollars in credit card debt then declare bankruptcy and still keep everything they bought. The government ends up paying for it in the form of tax write-offs, for the lenders, which means if your neighbor declares bankruptcy you as a taxpayer will have paid that person's debt. Student loan debt should be treated the same way.
@@markfuller2656 college graduates also have bankruptcy protection if they fail to pay their bills. Bankruptcy is a completely separate issue which has nothing to do with student loan debt. College graduates with their worthless piece of paper earn more than double in their lifetime more than most of the folks I mentioned.

There's a massive difference that they refuse to acknowledge, small businesses were forced to close their doors, I've never heard of anyone being forced to go to college.

We pulled 2 trillion in revenue from income tax in 2022. 3 trillion would be needed to cover the program.
Some simple math; that would require a 25-30% tax increase over the current for people already in 32% bracket.
So yes; well over 50%; into the 60%-70% area (i am already in 37%)...

Finance and economics should be taught in middle school and and high school! 15 and 16 year olds can work so they should be getting some financial literacy in school. Clearly not all parents are equipped to be teaching it.

If you are an actual Democrat, take a few minutes and email your Congressman for proof of supporting these things they are claiming to have worked on. Both parties actually have these posers but since I am a Democrat and have written many times to mine concerning things that didn't happen in Congress for the last ten years I was floored by the proof I received. My Congressman doesn't belong to the "Squad" . Nearly every issue, that I have contacted them about, I was sent a draft of either a bill or a letter demanding action or response. In those letters not one had a member of the squad's signature. Again both parties are suffering this infiltration right now. But ours appears to be the loudest. So take some time this saturday and donate to your congressman and then email them concerning anything at all. Especially if it was an issue plastered all over news outlets and you might be surprised that the person screaming on FaceBook about representing your interests is lying.
I work a full time job and also have an online store on eBay. With the cost of rent, utilities, and basic necessities, last year I had to take a personal loan out to cover everything because even those two incomes weren’t enough ……..no one is paying that back except me. I took the loan, I took on that debt, no one forced my hand but me. I don’t expect anyone else to pay that off other than myself so why is it different for them? I can’t afford to pay my debt and thousands of students’ debt as well, the government already takes enough of our money.
I didn't go to college ! I aged out of foster care system and I found a couch to crash on and found job . How in the Hell are you going to tell me I have to pay for peoples college when I never had the opportunity to choose to take on that debt.

Hey I served 6 years in the Louisiana National Guard to EARN my degree. Debt should never be wiped out no matter what kind. This hits home for me. My brother was a full time college student that ran up his student loans over $100,000. He used it to pay tuition but also buy stuff with it. What angers me is he receives a social security check that should be taken from him to pay his loans.

When I took out my student loan I was told by a counselor that once I secured a degree I would have no problem paying the loan back. That was a lie, I have never earned more than $32,000 /yr.and trying to pay back the loan is still a hardship. So it's not for the rich and I would really like this off my back.

My medical debt identifies as student loan debt! I graduated HS w/no clue what I wanted to do. While working in optical I decided to apprentice to be an optician, my husband started his own business. By 25 we were able to buy a house, that we should have been able to pay off by 45. I then developed Crohn’s and Gastroparesis, the GP left me unable to work. In 13yrs we’ve paid over $75,000 in medical bills, and I’m still ~$70,000 in debt, and I acquire more every month. I didn’t knowingly take on debt, I didn’t waste thousand on a worthless degree… why am I not getting medical bill forgiveness?

Less than $75,000!!! I get $12,000 a year on social security and I pay my loan payments. Every year I have to take out a loan for heating oil and I pay it back. I finally had to have a car that works and doesn't break down all the time and I pay that loan as well, these people who took out the loans need to learn if you borrow it you pay it back and stop being lazy and get a job and they don't need to make $75,000 a year to be able to afford the payments either they just need to adjust their living. Good grief!
