Blink being the season pass card was what got me to actually purchase the season pass for the first time. I'm looking forward to the Exiles content over the next month!
Just an important side note: Ms.Marvel and King Hyperion debuted in the Exiles books, but we’re not members of the Exiles team proper. They were part of another team that dubbed themselves Weapon X as a nod to the fact that they dealt with much darker missions and many of them at one point or another were part of the Weapon X teams from their respective universes. That’s how Blink met up with AoA Sabertooth again, as he was part of that team and they crossed over on a mission. ~_~
The Exiles sounds like a really cool direction for the TVA to go if they don't want to destroy it, bring in some supes, have some characters we know coordinate the team, and just have them fix timelines instead of pruning them like the old TVA would.
I read Exiles a few years ago to find designs for certain multiversal characters for a art project, and it's basically a Multiversal Suicide Squad or Sliders, but dark, and with superpowers, but with the added fact that the mission they're on, with other characters... don't also get attached, they get it BAD. Blink has also been X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse, she's your instant teleporter that take you back to your base, and has conversations with Sabretooth of course. Plus she was in Wolverine and the X-Men, in her Exiles design... but she has no lines, but does stuff, and is named. The Gifted's version is pretty normal all things considered, but gets more comic booky by the time the series ended, but she's barely there by then.
Thanks for bringing up X-Men legends! I never got to read the comic books themselves, but my friend and I played Legends 2 to death and that was my introduction to Blink and I still remember her and the rest of the game very fondly. Thanks for the nostalgia:)
Honestly? The series finale of The Gifted provides a great way for some mutants to enter the mcu! And it totally is a great representation of her, but of 616 her… she’s not that great at her powers and hates her powers in the beginning of the show, but she gets better and better at them until in the last season she *spoiler* but then shows up using portal daggers, seemingly from another universe, there to recruit everyone to her world to save things! Definitely an interesting plot point that feige could play with!
I loved that first run of Exiles. It was compelling because they weren’t afraid of killing off members, even long standing ones. Best arc was when Proteus infiltrated the team and jumped universe to universe to find a powerful enough body that he could inhabit without burning out. Best issue was when the other team of evil Exiles went to a universe to save the Inhumans from Iron Man turned Dr. Doom (think it was called Iton Fist of Doom). First season of What If is basically reimagining of Exiles. Crystal room where Watcher watches the multiverse even resembles the crystal palace where the time brokers originated from.
OG Exiles is a bit like Quantum Leap- zapped to a world where something is "wrong" and needs to be fixed before they can leave. Seeing a world where Xavier was a villain was pretty damn terrifying, considering he shuts down the brains of every person in a city at once, by himself.
Love Blink. She‘s cool. I think most of her arc is about beimg an assertive leader instead of hiding behind someone else. She can also be absolutely savage with her powers.
I really enjoyed the original run of the Exiles. Never finished it and haven't thought about them in many years, but it was a lot of fun because practically anything could happen. Usually that meant a lot of morally grey missions and lots of characters getting killed. Remember they had an "evil" rival team of Exiles who did particularly nasty work. Those guys almost always died. Anyway, didn't know the Exiles had come back a few times! It's a good concept. Blink is cool.
Saying most people were introduced to Blink in eXiles and not in the original AoE storyline that made her such a fan-favorite that people DEMANDED she return (or the Phalanx Covenant where her 616 counterpart was equally beloved) , is crazy.
I think Manifest was probably the most powerful on that teleporting team, with Blink or Lila Chaney as the second most powerful probably. But then again Manifest always says his power isn’t teleporting so maybe she’s the most powerful pure teleporter.
14:14 the gifted is a decent show i would give it a watch but its definitely her 616 idk what im doing with my powers blink and not age of apocalypse or exiles confident blink.... well for the most part there is definitely a cool easter egg that would have been explored in a later seasons if disney had not bought fox 😔
I know The Gifted isn't as popular as Daredevil and doesn't have as much of a demand to return to the MCU, but the final scene of that show literally had Blink opening a portal to another dimension and I can't help but think that would be the perfect way to include the show as part of The Multiverse Saga! I would have just Blink show up as a variant of the multiverse. She'd be perfect for Deadpool and Wolverine assuming they'll include any other surprise X-Men characters besides Wolverine. It'd be hilarious if Blink met her Days of Future Past variant! There are other characters from non-MCU franchises I'd love to see as variants: the "Avengers" members of The Incredible Hulk movies (never watched them but I've seen a video with interviews from the actors), 2005 Fantastic Four, Venom. I haven't watched the rest but Wesley Snipes's Blade, Mattfleck Daredevil, the previous three actors who played The Punisher, Johnny Blaze, The Hoff's Nick Fury, a version of The Falcon who CAN control birds. There are so many of them that cameoing in just Secret Wars doesn't feel like enough. I almost don't want them to destroy the multiverse unless they recover their universes. The Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths ended by recovering only a few Earths and bringing the main shows, two of which took place in their own Earths, into one universe. Which is what I imagine the MCU will do with the X-Men franchise.
Dude you really should watch The Gifted. It obvious has a smaller budget than the movies but the stories were much better. The characters felt like their comic book counterparts, the selection of mutants was very interesting, and it was better-written than the movies. The end got a bit janky because of budget slashing etc but it was definitely a good watch from end to end.
What would you suggest for a Monet card? We only have one Bucky Barnes style "if destroyed turn into" card in the game, but I'd prefer to keep the name Penance open for the REAL Penance (Speedball). I don't know much about Monet so I'm curious to hear your thoughts.
I adore Exiles, and Blink has been one of my top 3 characters since AoA… really didn’t like what they did to her with the dreads (design wise at least) and did not like Krakoan version kinda shitting in her older characterisation
Fine, Nando, I’m convinced. When’s the Exiles pitch video?
I would LOVE for marvel to do this
A tv show would be great
And a tv special where they meet the 616 for a bit
@@whoisslade45 I think it would be perfect for the younger x-men team Nando’s been discussing
Yup
@@whoisslade45yessss, a monster of the week type show would be so cool!
"...and now she's a robot or something." is the most comic book way to quickly summarise a character 🤣

not a hardcore Xmen fan, and only ever knew about her existence from the DOFP movie... loved her ever since
Exiles is a great series to pick up because it's on it's won. You don't have to jump from one title to another.

Blink is GREAT on The Gifted, such an underrated show!
The show left off on cliffhanger that was clearly setting up some version of Exiles
Love how whenever there is a season im less interested in then after watching your videos im suddenly on board
this man is singlehandedly holding up marvel snap in my timeline, nobody else is talking about it anymore

I first met Blink in AoA. I've always liked her. Her powers are really cool.

Atop the Fourth Wall has a good retrospective video on the Exiles comics. Check them out for info on their adventures.

I loved her in the Exiles series, that’s one of my favorites, I hope to see an adaptation of it someday
blink was great in the gifted, maybe my fav character from that show
Saying most people were introduced to Blink in eXiles and not in the original AoE storyline that made her such a fan-favorite that people DEMANDED she return (or the Phalanx Covenant where her 616 counterpart was equally beloved) , is crazy.
This is a good video, I had no idea who this character was. I really appreciate your naming the artists and pointing to a comic to read.
Turns out she works really well with Jubilee probably her best synergy actually
Manifold is a Universal teleporter and Lila Cheney is like a galactic scale teleporter
I think Manifest was probably the most powerful on that teleporting team, with Blink or Lila Chaney as the second most powerful probably. But then again Manifest always says his power isn’t teleporting so maybe she’s the most powerful pure teleporter.

Hey Nando, I enjoy your breakdowns and how they relate to Marvel Snap.
I met blink in the gifted show and I remember lovinggggggg the show, I would love to see how it is now to see if it’s still good
"What are we, some kind of Exiled X-men?"
Nando, it's time for the X-Teleporter debate. Manifold, Gateway, Blink, Azazel, Vanisher, Pixie, Magik, Nightcrawler, who wins?
PIXIE NEXT PLEASE super underated hard to find stuff on her and i always confused her with blink 💀
hes made one!
So funny that Valentina was so mid that she didn’t even get a video
So Exiles is basically Multiversal Suicide Squad led by a deranged timelord. Yeah ok I like that concept.
I'm liking the unbuttoned Nando 😏

I have to say I absolutely hated the 2019 Exiles... because I loved the original Exiles so much and it just didn't live up to it!

Come on Nando where is the X-men 97 video you said you werent gonna make, wild shit happened this ep

Exiles seems like my kind of story. How do I get it?!
Exiles movie pitch
Blink appeared before Age of Apocalypse? Huh.
So, Quantum Leap with random characters?
So the Exiles are like multiversal Suicide Squad?
So what are the Exiles? Some kind of... suicide squad?
I am 99% sure it's pronounced like "Monet Sahn Kwah" (or Krwah if you can correctly roll your "r"'s). That's how it would be pronounced in French.
shes also a Black woman. so yea she was cast as Asian twice by Fox which is crazy.
Why does Asian actresses keep playing her ?!
Look at how they draw her eyes compared to other characters she should be played by a Asian actress to avoid whitewashing
why not?
@@oscarkamala She's not an asian character. Weird, then, that her two only portrayals have been by asians.
@@QazwerDave Blink has a diverse heritage including black family from Bahamas and ancient Egyptian roots. So not Chinese at all
@@SonRob01 she's not chinese at all.
I want to know what happens if you manage to Phoenix Force Nocturne.
