Ma Mayhem is based on a real criminal named Ma Barker. More specifically, there was an old movie called Ma Barker's Killer Brood. Old movies were one of the main things the creators use as inspiration. That's why Cuvier looks like Vincent Price.
This episode might have been done under protest, but it was great to see done, as I love it and both the praise and jokes were good for a smile. ^_^ Egg Baby: :P
i really liked this episode, just for the insanity of it all. you have Terry failing "family studies" which even Bruce Lampshades to Ace of all things, you have the damn egg baby, which manages to be creepy and cute at the same time, and it's just fun. also love the moment you can almost hear Will Fridle (Terry's voice almost saying "screw this" and remember Batman Beyond was his first voice role, Kevin Conroy may he rest in peace really mentored him through every script. also love that Warner Bros had to get in a Wizard of Oz reference to Ruby Slippers
I never hated this one. It was interesting seeing Terry take on this baby for class to get a good grade! I didn't mind it showed Terry balancing his civilian life with his hero life. I was surprise it won an Emmy. Never hated it, though the other you mentioned is ridiculous and silly, yet I like that one as well
*I Enthusiastically Ednors ERods Exceptional Evaluation!* - This episode is and always was awesome! A dark show can have humor done right, and this humor was done superbly! I never had an assignment like that (where I live it's not a thing), but a friend told me he had to take care of a bag of flour in high school.
Yeah, this episode was hilarious. Also, Ace the Bat-hound playing with the Egg Baby is low-key adorable. I like to think that some of the other kids in the class (esp. Howard and Dana) later told the teacher about what they witnessed regarding Blade, and after confirming it with Terry, the teacher gave the bottle-blonde a failing grade.
And Bruce claimes he doesn't like kids " shows, small portion of bat fam" Oh he like kids fi k e he just sucks and not forcing them all to leave. Because he can not change
10:27 They’re asking him why he’s taking a baby into Battle. That’s really irresponsible and making them rattled-Guardians Inferno 10:45 Ma should have had the Chachla. It’s been a more effective weapon on both sides of the pacific Ocean Kinda surprised Spider-Man never had a episode based on this premise Kinda surprised the episode you mentioned earlier didn’t get the axe considering how badly SF Debris tore it apart
I liked this episode just fine, though I did wonder why the little robots were egg-shaped. I mean, why not just make them baby-shaped to get the full experience?
In it's defence, Terry's friend Dates a Robot is actually not that bad. The premise is goofy as hell, but the overall episodes got a goofy charm to it and the titular robo-girl is actually menacing
I never had to do any flour/egg baby assignments in school, but I wonder what teachers would do in the event of the classroom not having a 50/50 male/female split, or if the number of students was an odd number. Also, does anyone remember the Beavis & Butt-head episode where the two of them were entrusted with a flour baby?
(next time spoilers) Covering any (either?) TMNT 2012 episode with The Pulverizer feels less like calling the show inept and instead takes it to be highlighting inept characters like The Pulverizer
I like this one. And Terry's Friend Dates a Robot. My vote for worst would be Curse of the Cobra Part 2. Specifically part 2. Great set up, lame pay off. Even the creators hate the Cobra plot in part 2.
Maybe a great aunt? I don't want to imagine Ma's sons being able to knock someone up. 🤢 I'd also settle for Blade being a much younger half-sibling to Carl & Slim via their dad's side.
Bruce mentioning the press’ penchant for alliterations was the only thing I remotely recognize from this episode. It doesn’t suck; it’s just dumb. Personally, I feel the other students should have gotten higher grades given they showed fantastic parental motivations like with the guys while Terry made many stupid decisions that, “stimulation” or not, were immensely reckless. If he thinks it’s ok to stash the thing in either a dumpster or next to (what he thinks is) a roof cooling unit, then why not just leave it in the Batmobile?! Furthermore, this Batman has a cloaking system so why not use it to hide when the egg cries drawing everyone’s attention?!🤨 The whole plot relies on a contrived circumstance and the main character holding the Idiot Ball.😒 Side note, when I went through this in high school (2001-2004) they gave us a doll that had a diaper to change or a bottle to feed it with unless you chickened out and would rather just write a huge essay. And you can get arrested for child abuse if you just leave it in your locker to be neglected because it’s officially seen as a real child being abused!😳 (Yes…I thought that sounded stupid too.🙄) Also, some can be programmed as “crack baby” and you have to actually switch diapers or the sensor will mark you as neglecting a child in its own filth.
As for leaving Eggbaby in the Batmobile, that's not an option since those things are probably equipped with timers & sensors that when the baby 'cries' & is left alone for too long, your grade will drop for every time it happens. Terry had to keep it close by for that reason because he rather deal with the Joker with a crowbar without his suit tech than take family health class again.
@@danielbrant6740 So a dumpster in an alley that could be messed with by anyone (and was) is more logical than the Batmobile which has security systems?
It would be interesting to see InepToons done on some series which I would normally think wouldn't be touched, like the Fleischer Superman shorts. It may not be a TV series, but it's still an animated series and very similar to TV (just before TV was a thing)--kind of like how movie serials are similar to TV shows, too (also: if theaters want to lure people back, maybe we should look into making those things again--change up the viewing experiences, and all that; though streaming shows are the closest we have to the return of those things in the modern day). I would say the worst of said shorts would be part of the Famous productions, rather than Fleischer, with more propaganda and potential racism involved. However, I'm not sure if any would really be bad enough to fit this series, kind of like how I don't expect X-Men 97 on this series (at least not season 1, but for all we know season 2 might have a legitimately terrible episode). If this were extended into live-action shows (I'm not suggesting it have this happen, but just mentioning a hypothetical), I could expect there would be some interesting ones to go with, like "Beer Bad" from Buffy. Another show that could be fun in such a hypothetical is The Incredible Hulk, though I'm not sure which episode would be considered worthy. There are definitely some duds in there, but ultimately I wonder if it's one of the TV movies that would fit the bill, since they're extensions of the show. But I can also think it would be interesting to see an opposite to this premise: well-done episodes in terrible animation. I know there have to be fun examples out there from generally reviled shows like Ultimate Spider-Man or Teen Titans Go. Just because people don't like them overall doesn't mean it's all bad, I would hope.
I like the episode. You need a funny palate cleanser every once in awhile to enjoy the dark moments of the series.

Are we sure the actual inspiration for this episode wasn't Togepi from Pokemon?
Yeah if I remember Pokémon was starting to get more popular
God help Terry if Eggbaby used Metronome. 😅
Unironically love the idea that Terry’s annoying classmate grows up to be a supervillain

If Terry wanted to defeat Ma Mayhem a lot quicker, he could’ve borrowed some of Al Bundy’s insults.

This is probably one of my favourite episodes of the show!

I remember a similar situation with Danny Phantom where he and Valarie had to take care of sack of flour
"...but since your baby wasn't turned into a COOKIE, I'm giving you a C."
Was there a Kim Possible episode where Ron took care of flour too?
@ yes
Egg baby not something like rats or Terry's friend dates a robot
Can't help but notice that the Egg Baby accessory is making that face.
Unfortunate that Eggbaby has seen alot, Become Sakai
Ironic that the people that hate this episode are probably more fragile than an actual egg.
And Bruce claimes he doesn't like kids " shows, small portion of bat fam"
Oh he like kids fi k e he just sucks and not forcing them all to leave. Because he can not change
I love this episode, I can't believe anyone didn't like it

A baby shape can't accidentally roll off things as easily.
I don’t recall any rules being laid down for Ineptoons so feel free to also review Terry’s Friend Dates A Robot 😄
I fondly remember this episode.
Just "Asgard"? Not "Candy Asgard"? I was expecting candy, dammit!
Egg Baby!
I thought the worst episode(s) was the two parter, where the villains wanted to splice themselves with Dinosaur DNA.
Seeing the Mayhem Family, I can’t help but think of the Vreedils from Ben 10.
Are they a reference?
In it's defence, Terry's friend Dates a Robot is actually not that bad. The premise is goofy as hell, but the overall episodes got a goofy charm to it and the titular robo-girl is actually menacing
The only thing I hate about this episode is that the blue haired girl got credit from all the work Terry did
Sooo, when do we get a review of "Terry's Friend Dates a Robot"?
With What If Season 3 premiering this week, I would like to nominate one of its Season 1 episodes for InepTToons: What If... Thor Was an Only Child?
Honestly, Terry's Friend Dates a Robot was the only bad episode of Batman Beyond.
I love the egg baby :3
sometimes... for good things to happen to good people... it also has to happen to bad people...

Since this will be the last InepTToons of 2024, how about you rank the episodes you've covered this year?
What is with the whole egg baby project in tv shows?
For kids' shows, it's to show kids the responsibility of parenting. As for sitcoms, it's a plot device for hijinks.
@danielbrant6740 I noticed that alot even Ned's declassified made a joke about it
Wait you mean those egg assignments things are real!? My school never had that
Same.
Anyone who legitimately hates this enjoyably silly episode should not be allowed to have children.

Perhaps she's Blade's mom or grandmother

Hmm... I don't know, it was bad but I think that I've seen worse episodes of this show.
Yeah egg baby was a fun episode
I think most people think that

Egg baby episodes are always cringe and this one has the Yoshi's Island factor.
It wasn't one of the best, but *far* from being one of the worst....the show had *plenty* of other contenders for that.
most people hate the egg baby itself. it's annoying and has an irritating sound that is unpleasant to hear.
