Dan Duryea always appealed to me, had to do a search and was surprised to learn he is a man of a mild character, seemed to be a pillar of his community and married to the same woman for 35 years, raised two sons, and died too early, age 61, from cancer. His wife died a few years earlier.
His real life character shines through/carries over to the screen and can be felt by the viewer. It is the same with some others like Charlton Heston, Ben Johnson, James Cagney, James Garner, Perry Como, Pat Boone.
I love Dan Duryea in everything I’ve seen him in. Although my absolute favorite role was his guest appearance on Jack Benny. The skit was called “The Lunch counter murders - or, They Died Sunnyside Up.” 😂
1957 and a couple was still sleeping in separate beds. Then telling a jr highschool kid to go to bed. The most surprising thing is to see Duryea as the good guy.
The moral of the story,.... All it takes for Evil to succeed, is for good men to do nothing. Not sure of the actual quote. I liked Dan and Barbara too.
So, the little girl goes in the kitchen at the end...and gets abducted (or worse) by the bad guys (well, that's what would have happened in shows these days!)

From what I gathered from other movie channels he was a regular church goer in the San Fernando Valley.
you know he went to jail for murder

More Duryea films please.
Loved Dan Duryea. Great actor
Me too. He was “the heel with sex appeal” according to the LA Times obituary .

Duryea was such a good actor. He could be the nastiest of the nasty, or really funny.
The ti.e is 5:30 pm. 5/9/23. Mr Duyea is the Best of the Best. Whether it be Dramatic roles or Westerns. He definitely makes my Day. I miss Mr. Duyea.
Gotta like Dan D. God Bless

He's great as a good guy but better as a bad guy. Ya just gotta love this actor. The best of his time.

Harold J. Stone, another excellent character actor!
Dan Duryea was a great actor in my opinion.
More !.....More!!!!!!
Dan Duryea, yeah! The mobsters were good too!
Dan Duryea, the Gene Hackman of his time. Could play a vicious murderer one movie and a mild family man the next.
Good comparison. Love them both. Never a bad performance from either. 🎞️
I didn't know Dan Duryea was a keen gardener (quite rare amongst male Hollwppd actors methinks). Usually he plays the criminal, not this time
Loved him great actor ❤
God Bless all. God Bless Snow. Wow Mr. Pee!!!!! Beautiful!
Originally telecast on "DuPONT THEATER" (they eliminated the "CAVALCADE OF AMERICA" title after the 1954-'55 season) on February 19, 1957.
Is this June Cleaver's secret family? Thx PF🍕🎥
They pushed him too hard.
short but sweet🤩

"The heel with sex appeal"
The frightened witness
What naivety 😊

😮😅😊
This would have made a great movie.. only Dan was miscast as the good guy..
If you want to see him in another good guy role try to see a movie called Chicago Calling.
