I’ve been successful and built a comfortable life, but not as comfortable as it should be due to government taxes, fees, permits, cost of living constantly increasing.
Here in Canada, the largest economy destroyer is the government and their greed to take everything a man works for.
Now I work January- May, make enough to live and that’s it. No point making more only to have government take everything I work for.

Yep. I saw it firsthand with friends and an in-law during the housing bubble of the early part of this decade. The in law was working for a subcontractor painting company who played by the rules. The general contractor told the owner of the painting company he needed to reduce his price by 35% a square foot ( remember this is when home prices were skyrocketing). No way he could do it by paying legit wages and insurance. He laid off his crew and hired undocumented just to keep his business. He did give all his crew a good severance deal in cash so they could apply for unemployment immediately. My in law went through the same process twice before the bubble burst , his marriage fell apart and he never did recover financially. He ended up living in a a converted shed behind a house. I use to get angry with his sister because she accused him of "giving up" The guy was 45 years old and had worked since he was 17. I helped him out on the side when I could.

They just want applicants that they can reach out to when it suits them. Additionally, a man can't just enter a place of business and ask for work. They have to get online and fill out a form for each and every place. Or, they can use a service like Indeed, which in turn sells your email address to every scam artist in the book.

I made more money going and working at Wendy's. I never got another union job again after that.
I tried to be a welder as well as a few other factory jobs. But each factory got shut down and re opened in foreign countries. I am sorry you have suffered. I understand. You listed some of the reasons. I can tell more.
My health issues from car accidents have significantly worsened. I've been battling with disability for 7 years. Yes, 7 years. The government employees who say I can work because hey, I used to work, so by their logic why can't I continue to work until I die so they can fund illegals, felons with mile long rap sheets, and anyone who pretends to be transgender. The disability judge, a woman who came across as liberal, wrote a 13 page rejection letter (no joke) saying I'm too well educated and smart (I have a master's degree and I actually have taught college, but couldn't advance or even get hired full-time with benefits because most colleges hate Christians and conservatives and then, when I got a full-time job at a small Christian college for 2 years, it went belly up.) Woman judge, have you never heard of people like Stephen Hawking who was wheelchair bound for most of his life, but was genius level smart and well-educated? She also was so petty that she got into an argument with my lawyer over something trivial at my appeal hearing and refused to admit she was wrong and spent an inordinate amount of time focused on my weight even though I'm around 200 pounds now at 5'9" tall. Yes, I'm obese but, it's not like I weight 300, 400 pounds. Doctors and physical therapists have forbidden me from doing most exercises because my spinal column is a mess. It's also really hard to get down to 175 pounds, which the highest I can weigh for my height when you can't do most exercises and you are in pain EVERY SINGLE DAY. Don't liberals call this fat-shaming? Oh that's right. It's different when they do it.
I mean she has access to hundreds of pages of my medical records and my work history. She knows I was fired because I could not function well enough every day to work. She knows that my doctors and physical therapists said we would try to delay my eventual disability as long as possible with medicine, therapy, and rest. I had gotten to the point where I literally was only working, getting sick or hurt, and existing. But, hey, the idiots working in disability in Tennessee have denied people with stage 4 cancer like my friend's mother, who was put through hell before she died six months later.
Then, off the subject of my life, you have corporation CEOs who make ridiculous salaries while sending jobs overseas and treating their employees like dirt, companies expecting young people to magically have experience when they just got out of school, DEI crap, harassment against anyone conservative and/or Christian going back to Obama's presidency, weaponization of the government, rewarding people for not working and not obeying the law, etc.
Again, I am sorry for your suffering sir. I understand. Americans, especially under Biden, felt hopeless. The Biden administration rewarded bad behavior, corruption, laziness, etc.

In high school all of us worked menial jobs to earn money. I don't know of anyone that took out student loans, we paid for our own education. Today's generation expects handouts. Borrows money to buy things they don't need. Expects their student loans to be forgiven. And they wonder why they are worse off then their parents. The reason they are worse off is because the older generation worked their backsides off. Didn't take out loans for vacations, things they didn't need, etc. We went from a hard working society to an entitled society and the rich, both Republicans and Democrats, have been playing off that sense of entitlement to get elected and eventually screw them over.

Every generation but the current generation, had to work during high school to have money to spend. You took whatever job you could, fast food, mowing yards, roofing houses, construction, etc. There were very few illegal immigrants because the borders were more secure and illegal immigrants were deported if caught. Jobs were available if you were willing to work. Now, most high school students don't work and rely on their parents for money. Many of the entry level jobs have gone to illegal and legal immigrants. Most construction jobs rely on illegals. Many of the retail jobs at malls and shopping centers have gone away due to Amazon and other online stores. My opinion is that if you start working before 16 you understand that you don't know what you don't know. You also learn to appreciate that with work comes money. Better work equals better money. Better work equals a feeling of accomplishment. Now you have parents paying kids for little to no work. They learn that they don't have to work to get money. They don't get to feel like they need to accomplish something because they don't. They think they know everything because they never experienced learning new things. In one generation we have gone from a competent and stable workforce to entitled new employees who think they know better than their bosses. They have little competitive drive and they don't understand that doing good work is rewarding and doing exceptional work is motivating. The problem is "how do you get back" to teenagers learning how to work and it's benefits. By the time they are in their 20s and have never worked, they will have a tough time in life. Working isn't punishment, it's an opportunity. Parents aren't helping their kids if they continue to support them after high school.

@FirstNameLastName-ib3cp We are living in the times the Bible speaks about. The Scriptures speak that in the Last Days knowledge will be greatly increased, cost of bread will be a days wages (referring to extreme inflation), evil will be called good and good called evil, people will be cold hearted and lovers of themselves and haters of God. Still, those who trust in God can overcome many of these things, but we do live in a much different world today. In 1965 my rent for a 2 bedroom nice apartment in the DC area was $75 month. Today that same apartment is $2500. In 1970 I bought a home on 7 acres for $42,000. Today that same home sold for over $700,000. McDonalds in the 60's a hamburger, fries and drink with free refills was $.45. A loaf of bread was $.20. Government spending and greed did this and a lack of following the 10 Commandments. There is hope because Jesus Christ promised to return in the Last Days. We don't know exactly when but the sign of the times is now. God bless.
