Great work and congratulations! Though can I ask if the screenwriter or someone changed over on the staff between season 1 and season 2? Or did the screenwriter decide to try and head off in a completely different style and direction of storytelling?
@@Volkaer i belived they say the anime depict from the original LN story..the manga and Ln are very different in storytelling. But the plot is still the same
It makes sense that they’re ending at the beginning of the re-isekai arc but man can I not wait to see more. For some reason, this show specifically has all the right traits to fulfill my hunger for power fantasies.
@@AlexPerez-tt9ru i hope so because she kind of had an interesting role in the manga during this arc. I won't get into spoilers but if she doesn't do the one thing she did in the manga then I guess it will be up to Cid to do it.
Hholy shit! Not only was Cid transported back to his original Earth, his Earth now looks like a post apocalyptic dystopia! I guess when Cid was transported to this world, magic was transported to his world and caused a whole bunch of problems. Also, we finally get to see the girl Cid saved at the beginning again! It seems she gained magic powers too.
Majority of light novels don't get a proper adaptation, only 86,mushoku tensei, that time I got reincarnated as a slime, re zero, no game no life and now officially eminence in shadow are the best light novel anime adaptations yet
@@didsva Frieren is a fantastic manga adaptation. But there are many more even this year such as Oshi no ko, 100 girlfriend, Zom 100, Hell's paradise etc. While good light novel adaptations are very few and far between
@justsomeguywithamustache2901 the only ones I haven’t watched that you mentioned are re zero and mushoku tensei. Which of the two would you suggest to watch first?
This is a HUGE episode for worldbuilding! Things swapping from world to world automatically is such an interesting concept. Also this is definitely his world, the girl remembers him and the ex-military kidnaper also does, unless there are multiple shadows which I doubt there is. Also of course this man would supernova the entire system just to kill one guy lmao
Mordred explaining the multiverse like a boss, meanwhile Cid tries to explain atomic fusion like he only watched Oppenheimer and went to the toilet thrice during the movie. Some of that colliding of realms reminded me of the Witcher. I haven't read the books, so my knowledge is limited to games and the series, but I'm pretty sure colliding planets/realms was a big factor in that franchise. I knew Horie Yui would not be a one time occurring character! Welcome home, Shadow!
What an atomic finale to season 2. Not often we get an isekai where the MC gets to go home. Time may have passed, but that one guy's scars from Shadow never healed.
You know, that final scene, is what I thought the show was going to be all along. Like I didn't expect at first for Eminence in Shadow to be Isekai, I thought it was going to be about a dark organization with magic on actual Earth😂😂😂
That's was some hella good cliffhanger to end Season 2 🤯 The contrast between Mordred explaining Multiverse (Cid' OG is the world of the Dead from his pov 🤣) and our boy trying to describe what Atomic fusion is was so hilarious 😂 Overall I really like the fights scene in this episode! But the Big Bang I am atomic of Cid was breathtaking 😱 Chief kiss and a huge thanks to the staff team who cooked this masterpiece 😎 I wil wait with max hype for the Movie and more peak Eminence in Shadow's content 🎥👀🔥
What an amazing finale to a such a awesome season. Like we have truly gone full circle since the first episode of the first season. And I loved every part of this episode. From how Cid did punch that arch demon. And even said that the sky is his territory while chaining him up. To in the end slice it into pieces, which just shows that it was no match for Shadow. Then I also loved how Beta and Epsilon did handle the knight beyond name. Saying that he rely too much on magical items for his strength. And defeated him and then manipulate him into spilling the beans of what he knows. Also that new lore we learned is so interesting. Because most isekai shows even great ones often just hand waves how the concept of other worlds works. But here they full on describe how the multiverse works in a way. With how different realms exists and how sometimes they collides. And when they do they bring magic and even different creatures into it including humans. Gate is one of a few examples where they did a similar thing to their setting. And I know that the Witcher isn’t an anime but that setting also work in a similar manner. But yeah at the end it was so awesome how Cid did launch a nuke in space with a finger gun basically. Which even caused a rift in reality to his old world where he transferred too. And it was so interesting as well to see what that had happened to earth since he left. As now it really look like a post apocalyptic world
Cid casually committing planetary level feats like it's a regular Sunday afternoon is priceless. I really loved how the lore was explained. Cid basically got dragged into another world right at the perfect time as he died. The lucky bastard. Beta got dragged along with him off screen. The LN and manga were much better at showing that information.
This show has made me a fan of anime. I grew up thinking anime was dumb without giving it a chance, but I think I finally understand the appeal of anime and I watch more and more and it’s great
We’re eating good with the Eminence in Shadow. This show never stops to be entertaining. Making this arc into a movie is going to be awesome, and animation fight scenes are going to be on a different level. Satisfied with this season, and look forward to when more content arrives.
Definitely hyped to see the “return” shenanigans lol The moment other dimensions came up, I immediately thought of Cid getting isekai’d to their world lol Cliffhanger makes it feel like a rewatch might be in order! Forgot to mention the episode title, I was like hey isn’t that S1 opening title? And they sure delivered playing it in the late portion of the episode!
It is a great idea to have the arc with him in his old world as a movie. That part (In the manga, don't worry I wont spoil anything) Was great, but I don't think they could make a whole season out of it. Obviously, a fair bit happens, but not enough to fill like 10-12 episodes without using A LOT of unnecessary fillers. Looking forward to the adaption.
Im curious to see what happens now that hes returned to his old world , but now both him and that world have magic XD. Though i hope he at least leaves it better then he found it😂
I just finished watching the final episode of the second season and I am thoroughly impressed as well as completely mind blown. When I saw the girl from the very first episode I was just like wait a minute, this is just like the first episode and then cid pops up out of literally nowhere as shadow and my mind just gets blown. it makes me very excited to see what happens in the movie you mentioned because I have no idea what is in store at this point.
Where the story is going, I'm actually curious if the first OP was teasing future events where all the main Shadow Garden memebers were wearing red suits in a modern city scape.
The first episode. That very first episode. I knew it was too good to be just there for sh*t and giggles parody. What an explosive way to end the season. This show has been such a guilty pleasure of mine that I have resisted looking for spoilers or even killing the urge to read the LN. The story is too good to enjoy as a first time and be surprised. Also, the mordred expalanation was a dead giveaway that cid is from the centre world and it is our Earth. Although I am excited to know as to why we have been Fist of the North starred in this timeline?
That... ending had me like "wat?". So he's back? But he has his OP magic? But why? I kinda get it after the whole multiverse reveal, but why though. And how will this relate to Shadow Garden? I guess it makes sense because this author and this adaptation does everything backwards about writing a story. Also HOW COULD THEY END IT HERE?
Two words. Nishimura Akane... Or was it Nishinomiya? Nakamura? Also why he still has magic gonna be explained in movie probably (at least it did in the LN arc)
it's funny Cid doesn't realize he is already the eminence in shadow, but also the stories MC Claire his sister is actually the protagonist/ True MC. We follow Cid's story but the way the world is set up Claire is the classic fantasy MC but we are watching Cid's life. It's like ORV where the main character is KDJ, but the protagonist is YJH. Claire and Cid follow a similar idea, Claire is like the fantasy MC that is surrounded by an ever expanding and complex world that she realizes constantly gets bigger and bigger meaning she needs more and more to catch up. Look at the fact that Aurora is essentially Claires guardian and Mentor, while Cid is the enemy of the whole world essentially but his org and himself also look out for Claire. Claire going to die-> Shadow Garden saves her or the actions of Shadow Garden create a way for her to survive.
Yup, Claire is being set up as the "hero". Even one of the three "compatible" bloodlines alongside Alexia Midgard & Rose Oriana from the human's kingdoms.
I like how they showed Cid putting a barrier around the Earth before his attack, implying the Earth would have been screwed if he didn't do that. The other planets are probably intact, but if there was life anywhere else in the solar system, it's probably dead.
Now the season's end I wanna read the manga all over again. What a great journey. This is one of few anime that I watched every week, others I just wait for their series to end and to see reviews which one I would like to watch. And I don't regret watching this series.
I love how Cid just saw a random black whole looking thing and thought “ooo what is this?*I wanna touch it*” then proceeded to revert back to his modern japan mixed with magic and terminators from another realm
unless we are going the parrel world route it seems he went back home but world has overlapped his old one making it now have magic and more tech than before
I wonder if cid is gonna end up mastering the opening of that black hole, so that he can go back and forth as he pleases. Can't wait for the continuaion!
My one complaint about season two is that we only got two “I am Atomic” scenes. Sure Cid, or rather John Smith wasn’t going to say those words in his fight with Alpha, and I don’t count him blindsiding the Vampire simp because he never actually said it. Those were the best moments of season one and it’s just a shame we couldn’t get more.
We technically got 4 atomic seasons of you count aurora's failed attempt at the "all range" version and when cid did a sneak attack on that red haired vampire 💀
Truck-kun: Hey, that's illegal! Shadow: ...and that's how I saved your mother, again Beta: how dare this bimbo took my place as the damsel in distress!
This is a great episode to point to for those who still think it is just all humor, no, it actually has great world building. On the topic of time: Time to have progressed in the real world makes sense, since time did also progress in Cid's new world and it seems like roughly the same amout of time has passed. I very much look forward to the movie, between the humor, the story and the characters, this has been enjoyable to watch and (almost) most importantly, it never gets boring. The pacing is really good.
Too bad some people find modred explanation quite boring and not pay attention and then confused wtf happened. It just show most people watch this show just for flashy fight scene(even there not much action)😔
Time progressed in both worlds, but not at the same speed. Note that Cid has been in the otherworld growing up from a baby to ehh... his current age is 15? Akane isn't adult yet I think, though definitely older
@@bluetenkai Really? I'd assume it's reaction channels cause they tend to not pay attention much to what they should be reacting in view of whatever, usually simple, commentary they can add for the video (personal bias). I never took a film appreciation class but I highly doubt that's the way actual film appreciation is.
I wasn't expecting cyborgs to show up. You would think it would be harder to make them after the supply chains have been smashed by the same stuff that destroyed all the buildings. The anime certainly does its own thing when it comes to the tech level. In the light novel and manga, it was your typical medieval European fantasy world. Honestly, I rather like the change to the pre-electrical era, as not a lot of isekai break from the mold like that. What makes it interesting is there was no sign of it for most of episode 2, suggesting this is the result of Cid's influence on the world. My only issue is how widespread it has become in only two years. The Cult seemed to have been more advanced 10,000 years ago. While it does make a certain amount of sense given that they were performing genetic experiments, crossing humans with beings from other worlds, I can't help but wonder how they backslid so much when their core members have been around that long. Even if they don't know how to build all the stuff themselves they could still teach the basics to their members. I also question why Akane has a telescoping baton, mainly due to the world-building and the dangers she faces. It isn't all that useful compared to a blade.
We mustn't forget that he was doing this all stuff just to be the eminence in the shadow of his original world, yes he obtained it from another world , but now he is back where he started, not planned, realizing that he is now the real eminence in the shadow he want to be , with op power,, but now observe the surrounding,, seems that there is an arc happening on his first world (may be caused by the world's collision or a war between nation and this is the best timing for him to step in sheeshhhh hahaha
I think people forgot that cid grew up in this new world. Using universal laws that means time has passed. And since space time is affected by gravity. Saying that cid grew up in this new world for like 14 years or something and his original world could technically move less or more time than the worl cid is currently in. As the universal gravitational net could be more or less affecting relative time. (TLDR, anime reality doesn’t need to make any freaking sense. It’s just a freaking awesome anime XD)
Chibi jitsu series confirmed Beta's going there, just that it wasn't shown in anime since it was Cid POV after he got transported than what's up with Beta and co. Movie probably gonna elaborate it.
I think shadow when he was taken from earth the first time something came into his place and made earth advanced?? And when cid returned that thing returned to the other world
I think so too , when he died it was also the time worlds collide and transfered magic power to earth. That's why earth is on post apocalyptic state, animals evolved and magic beast transported to earth.
@@ieatwalnut9088 maybe the demon king ? Or something that the cult want to destroy and the clut is not evil maybe they want to protect their earth ? Last ep made me think a lot hahahha
@@sabbaghaladin1981 one thing for sure that cult of Diabolos isn't good lul, after all they're the one who experimented on aurora and earth didn't have cult like cult of Diabolos. The one that destroyed most of earth (cid previous world) are the monsters.
He created a black hole, got himself sucked into it, and got transported back to his old world. His old world has now become a bit of a dystopia, it would seem.
Honestly, I've got mixed feelings about the ending of season 2. On one hand, if it's done right, it could be interesting. On the other hand, they've made it much harder to do it right. For starters, I found the second season quite a bit worse to the first - with the first having a far more serious undertone with comedic moments naturally occurring through how Cid interacted with the world. In second season on the other hand, they tried way too hard to force comedy - while throwing away the connections between characters, character developments, world development, plot and lore, and just making it a lot more 'generic' if that's the right word. Every character cared far more as to what was going on around them, including Cid who cared far more about his chosen role and fitting into it. Still a good anime and still enjoyable to watch, don't get me wrong, but night and day difference compared to the first season. It's like it was done by completely different people or studio (not sure if anything like that happened as haven't looked into it). And this brings me to my issue with the ending - it basically "concluded" and threw away that world and all it's characters (minus Cid and the one other who went with him) after shitting on everything that's been built up in the first season. It could have recovered the story by bringing back the style from first season into the third for instance, before yeeting Cid off, or not changed the style altogether and stuck with worked amazingly well in season 1 - which would then make the ending make sense. But it didn't - and it kinda makes me far less interested in season 3 as a result.
Tbf, the next arc is a standalone arc, which is probably one of the reasons why it'd be a movie. The arcs after that'd be in season 3 gonna be dark though. Season 2 mostly got rushed in the vampire arc, the bank arc not bad adaptation ig, though I'd argue there's a drop in animation quality like the Gettan fight which could have equally made like Iris's fight. From these 2 arcs, I actually think there isn't much comedy elements in the novel either, it's the arcs where the tone is shifting more to developing shadow garden imo. Next is the Oriana arc, which I'm glad the anime didn't skip any important parts, they even put a quick montage with the cut out WN arcs (prison break & shadow puppeteer) because it went off-tracked at one point as the author was writing it while being very busy apparently. This arc features more into and concludes Rose's story and even some world-building at the end. Overall, yeah S2 arcs are all more story-oriented as can be seen with the John Smith and the intricately entwined build up to turn it around at the end with a certified grand Sasuga Ainz moment. I can understand that the comedy becomes less because of it. I'm fine with both the story-oriented of S2 and lighthearted comedy of S1, both has it's pros and cons imo. On another note, dw with Cid going to a new world, it's temporary and is more a standalone arc that revolves around a certain character. Think of it as an extra if you need to. The next arc (after the Japan arc) will continue where all this build-up left off but with an extra spice to add (I think it's obvious what it'll be lol). Then thus far after Japan arc, there's 2 big arcs, both of which I'd argue gets noticeably darker and with more interestingly convoluted story (as I said, big arc). I like that it gets more into "hype" than ever. Not a big judge of the comedy aspect though so I can't comment much other than reading the LN for it does make me grin throughout haha (though the hype part plays a lot as a factor too). Also about the upcoming movie, there's at least one very memorable and noteworthy glorious funny moment in there lol.
@@onebear6504 Does he make it back to the Isekai world or does the story kinda get separated between Shadow in Japan and everyone else in the Isekai world?
@@Volkaer Spoilers . . . . . . . . LN & manga-wise The next arc is basically something of an individual arc where Shadow + Beta is in Japan (though the story itself centers on Akane). After this, Shadow and co. came back to the Isekai world and as of now, there's no way to go back to Japan yet (Shadow Garden is researching it). Story continues on isekai world where Cid (once returned) immediately dashes back to school cause his trip went on for too long that the holidays are already over (after he got back). So yeah, think of it as a separate bonus story in-between the main story. Imo it's kind of a service to the fans of Nishino who wanted her back from the WN days (Nishino Akane & Cid's past life originally only first appeared in one extra chapter after Yukime & Gettan's story in WN, author made it into a whole arc in LN after he finished Oriana). Unrelated, I was reviewing my previous reply and it could really have been written better lol. Apologies for the long mess, I wrote it late night early morning.
@@onebear6504 Haha all good that makes sense. I butcher my replies half the time and end up not getting anything across too so can relate - trust me it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I sometimes done in the past :P
Season 1 Episode 1 did start with with part of LN Volume 4, normaly it would have just started with how Minoru (Cids former name) got hit by truck-kun while trying to gain magic to tank a nuke, and wu would have gotten the backstory now. Not a bad change in my opinion but now they had to "replicate" the Akane scene here again.
Oh yes totally Eminence in shadow have broken and subverted so many of the usual isekai tropes. And this final reveal just make it clear which was that deserve the top spot
Talk about going out with a (big) atomic bang. It's the only way you can describe it. Truly, Cid pulled all the stops to make that whole fight a mayor production, with his Shadow Garden girls all remaining in the church and just chanting their organization's mantra before they go full sakuga on the army of monsters, while Cid sashimis the big boss monster. He is even kind enough to let Beta and Epsilon trash the cult guy. But what really elevates this nonsense to new heights, is how both Cid and Beta and Epsilon nonstop disrespect both the cult guy and the boss monsters. And the poor guy just breaks, crushed by the sheer incredulity of our Big Bang Boy, who doesn't even have the decency to properly explain the whole atomic thing (I mean, obviously he is just a chuuni who knows "something" about atom theory). But then... as if that weren't enough... Cid re-isekais himself. Entirely by accident. And because pun is the name of the game, he comes back crashing down on top of the very same guys he trounced before isekai-ing himself via the Sacred Bumper of Truck-kun. Is your head spinning? Are you still reeling from all the whiplash of stuff, both stupid and actually pretty cool? Because, even if I already knew thanks to the LN, I still can only say... Wow. Best trash I've ever had. Gimme that movie, barkeep! And I hope the production studio learns that keeping a well treated production team gives results, and don't just drop them once they've used them.
Can’t say I’m a fan of the fanservice bits, I get that a lot of anime has it so it’s inevitable in some series. But this anime has surprised my expectations in spite of that and once again I’m leaving the season craving more! The anime overall is good enough for me to just deal with the fact that it has fanservice I could do without, so it’s definitely not a deal breaker for me! Since HiDive has it, I hope it means they’ll continue to for subsequent seasons and whatnot. I get that certain arcs fit movie format better…but the only thing I hate is that there’s usually theatrical releases to sit through first and naturally it’s Japan first and it often takes a while to reach North America. And then you often still have to wait for it to stream and whatnot. Personally prefer just streaming this at home lol.
You say he was sent back to his old world into the future, but didn't mention that there seems to be a time dilation going on as well. There is no doubt that this is the same girl Cid saved from episode 1, and yet she doesn't seem to be much older, while Cid grew up from a baby in the Shadow Garden world after dying in his old world. That's why I think a time dilation effect is in play.
He was 17 when he died, which makes Akane 17 as well. In this episode, she mentions that she is 20 and Cid is 15 when he appears on Earth again. Akane has only lived 3 years while Cid has lived 15 years past his death on Earth. So there is a 5-year time difference between their worlds. (I think this is correct at least)
I think it's understandable that they are going with a movie this time around instead of another season. After all in the manga the arc coming up is the lasy finished arc. Sure there's a new arc after that but that arc has barely even started.
Judging by what you said in the video, you didn't seem to have watched the chibi short that came out with today's episode. I won't spoil it but it is REALLY important to watch the chibi short because there is information that ties to the main story.
I wasn't expecting a movie to come of this but I guess that could work for the next arc. Keep in mind when I hear of an anime adapting a cannon arc into a movie I expect an outcome like Dragon Ball Super or Demon Slayer where the movie comes out first then the anime adapts the story into a regular part of the following season. It's not like My Hero Academia, where the movies are stand-alone and it doesn't matter for the main story. The audience needs to see this arc. That's why I don't understand why people wanted the first half of The Rising of the Shield Hero to have been adapted into a movie. Even if the studio had done that we would still get the Spirit Tortoise arc as part of the second season. In the end, it would have just been a waste of money and possibly killed season 3. This may be a delaying tactic to push back season 4. Even if it hasn't been released in the US yet, I know there is more than enough content for three seasons, likely four. It's just that we run the risk of issues with season 5.
plenty of anime don't attach the movie as part of a season see made in abyss, they expect you to watch the movie before watching the new season the same way Emience in shadow will do it
@@AHBrandonReviews I'm afraid I've never seen Made in Abyss and didn't even know it had a movie. My question is was that from the manga? I know Demon Slayer adapted the Mugen Train movie into a sort of season 1.5, I just skipped over that after putting up with the Dragon Ball Super's adaptation of the cannon movies. They can't expect everyone to watch the movies as there would still be fans that didn't. For all the anime movies I've seen that have been connected to a TV series, they have either been non-canon, only loosely connected, or had to have been adapted back into the 30 episode format. Unless the movie was meant to be the end of the series and they won't be making any more episodes. Shield Hero's issue is that they adapted the Spirit Tortoise arc poorly. I get that it wasn't poplar with the fans but they still did a haphazard job of it and moved things around without thinking how it would affect the story. The arc was necessary for the world building and setting up later arcs, so they couldn't skip it. The fact that it was an unpopular arc is also an argument against making it into a movie because the fans would be less likely to go and see it. I know the source material is already far enough ahead that they could release a 12 episode season 3 the same time next year and it would be fine. I figure making a movie is a choice on the studio's part because they see an opportunity to make more money off of it. I do still fully expect them to adapt it into a couple of episodes after the movie comes out, I'm just not sure how exactly season 3 will be, as we could get a season 2.5 sort of thing.
So correct if I’m wrong but basically, the same reason/thing that got the mc to the isekai world is what changed his original world? Cause I was confused asf when she had some glowing collapsible baton😂 I was like I thought the whole reason bro hugged truck kun was to get magic and they got magic what happened but I think I understand now
As a manga reader I'm a little worried about the ending A few very important details seem to be different Some Manga Minor Spoilers below Cid's interaction with the girl from the first episode is significantly different Which had more tension from her PoV as it showed the state of things being pretty dire From a world building perspective not so much from her personal situation Beta didn't follow Cid into the black hole this one seems pretty massive as Beta learns Japanese She also gets into an online flame war with Cid and it's amazing She's also responsible for a lot of other things that are pretty important that can set up ALOT of future plotlines
the chibi youtube shorts mention that beta went with him. so i'd assume they'll show it in the movie. Even w/ this interaction in the anime, i think they can still pick up cid as a regular person later on w/ beta and get back on track
Okay spoil me. What happened? And does cid go back to the same dimension where he made shadow garden. And how much does manga cover because i am going to read it.
Basically in short, Cid does Shadow things while everyone on Earth is confused as to who he is and what he does while Beta goes around and collects information. Eventually they do find a way to go back. The manga right now takes place right after the Japan stuff happens. I highly recommend reading the manga from the beginning honestly because there are a lot of stuff and jokes that the anime glances over.
@@lolmanawesom The anime adapts from the novel not the manga, and Just as the anime takes creative liberties and sometimes change stuff, the Manga does as well. I am not saying there is anything wrong with experiencing the manga too but I'd rather people not get confused and think that's the "authentic source material" when it isn't
@@ayush9202 the anime just finished with the first arc of LN volume 4 (and the movie will cover the second arc), the manga is maybe almost done with the first arc of LN volume 5 , and the LN recently released its 6th volume. So the Manga is about 3 arcs behind the LN. (this is based on if all the LN have 2 arcs)
Brandon, there is still 2 and 1/2 volumes to adapt, so there should be plenty. I'm thinking that, because of the content of the next few arcs, a movie seemed like a good idea, though many would disagree with that choice.
that's not a lot and it doesn't release fast enough to do another cour without getting too caught up. a movie gives 2 years of breathing room for the material to get ahead so they can greenlight 2 seasons and have the material to work on
TBH, I am honestly, completely shocked and dismayed at the anime 99% decimating the end of this episode. I get changes must be made, but to fully change everything about Cid being back on Earth....I actually feel like I won't both with the movie now. At least this episode looked pretty damn good.

Majority of light novels don't get a proper adaptation, only 86,mushoku tensei, that time I got reincarnated as a slime, re zero, no game no life and now officially eminence in shadow are the best light novel anime adaptations yet
it honestly got better with each cour imo you dont say that often
Don’t forget about Frieren as well

You know, that final scene, is what I thought the show was going to be all along. Like I didn't expect at first for Eminence in Shadow to be Isekai, I thought it was going to be about a dark organization with magic on actual Earth😂😂😂
Studio nexus didn't keep us in the SHADOWS, a movie announcement right after season 2 ends is so insane 😭😭
I loved the way that it tied back to the first episode and closed the loop.
That's was some hella good cliffhanger to end Season 2 🤯
The contrast between Mordred explaining Multiverse (Cid' OG is the world of the Dead from his pov 🤣) and our boy trying to describe what Atomic fusion is was so hilarious 😂
Overall I really like the fights scene in this episode! But the Big Bang I am atomic of Cid was breathtaking 😱
Chief kiss and a huge thanks to the staff team who cooked this masterpiece 😎
I wil wait with max hype for the Movie and more peak Eminence in Shadow's content 🎥👀🔥
As now it really look like a post apocalyptic world
Bro author is cook right now with the story
Cid casually committing planetary level feats like it's a regular Sunday afternoon is priceless.
I really loved how the lore was explained. Cid basically got dragged into another world right at the perfect time as he died. The lucky bastard.
Beta got dragged along with him off screen. The LN and manga were much better at showing that information.
it was shown in the chibi short today
This show has made me a fan of anime. I grew up thinking anime was dumb without giving it a chance, but I think I finally understand the appeal of anime and I watch more and more and it’s great
We’re eating good with the Eminence in Shadow. This show never stops to be entertaining. Making this arc into a movie is going to be awesome, and animation fight scenes are going to be on a different level. Satisfied with this season, and look forward to when more content arrives.
I have no words for this episode except, it lived up to its name. Highest.
Indeed
Definitely hyped to see the “return” shenanigans lol
The moment other dimensions came up, I immediately thought of Cid getting isekai’d to their world lol
Cliffhanger makes it feel like a rewatch might be in order!
That be pretty cool! I wonder personally if by the end of his arch of Japan, hey or shadow garden end up making a permanent portal connection
Im surprised you didnt catch it. When he touched the world, and put a barrier around, it far more powerful than the attack he released.
" hmm big bat, thats isekai for you" killed me
That... ending had me like "wat?".
Every time the world collide truck kun collide and sent people to other world lol
I like how they showed Cid putting a barrier around the Earth before his attack, implying the Earth would have been screwed if he didn't do that. The other planets are probably intact, but if there was life anywhere else in the solar system, it's probably dead.
What a cliffhanger cid going back home but something bad happened to his home
Now the season's end I wanna read the manga all over again. What a great journey. This is one of few anime that I watched every week, others I just wait for their series to end and to see reviews which one I would like to watch. And I don't regret watching this series.
I love how Cid just saw a random black whole looking thing and thought “ooo what is this?*I wanna touch it*” then proceeded to revert back to his modern japan mixed with magic and terminators from another realm
Hold up did cid just go back home!? My god his home is trash now
unless we are going the parrel world route it seems he went back home but world has overlapped his old one making it now have magic and more tech than before
Basically, imagine if rimuru went back to earth, and spent a week chilling and being stronger than earthings.
I wonder if cid is gonna end up mastering the opening of that black hole, so that he can go back and forth as he pleases. Can't wait for the continuaion!
It’s just so fucking good
My one complaint about season two is that we only got two “I am Atomic” scenes.
He isn't alone in that world.. there's someone else that got sucked up with him!
Can't wait for more if we get season 3 / movie.
The ova showed that
Truck-kun: Hey, that's illegal!
Shadow: ...and that's how I saved your mother, again
Beta: how dare this bimbo took my place as the damsel in distress!
I couldn't stop myself from going back to watch episode 1 right after this one finished.
Earth gets turned into an apocalyptic dystopia, and as a trade the other world got Cid...
I guess the Earth got off easy considering!
Pretty ballsy move to end an isekai series by having the protagonist yanked back to his original world...
CID casually dropping a nuke with the energy of 1000 suns was terrifying
An entire multi verse universe not a basic flat story
EoS multiverse theory reminds me of world trigger's cosmology
I love this anime so much, shadow is just an insane AMAZING main character ❤
I was so speechless
I will still be watching every episode of season 1 and 2 every week till the next comes out
We mustn't forget that he was doing this all stuff just to be the eminence in the shadow of his original world, yes he obtained it from another world , but now he is back where he started, not planned, realizing that he is now the real eminence in the shadow he want to be , with op power,, but now observe the surrounding,, seems that there is an arc happening on his first world (may be caused by the world's collision or a war between nation and this is the best timing for him to step in sheeshhhh hahaha
Man the moment when he "touched" the earth and his magic engulfs the whole thing just made me so hyped
Cid really looked at Ragnarok and called it a bat.
Even I’d drop my trousers for Shadow 😭
I think people forgot that cid grew up in this new world. Using universal laws that means time has passed. And since space time is affected by gravity. Saying that cid grew up in this new world for like 14 years or something and his original world could technically move less or more time than the worl cid is currently in. As the universal gravitational net could be more or less affecting relative time. (TLDR, anime reality doesn’t need to make any freaking sense. It’s just a freaking awesome anime XD)
This edning was PEAK!
Beta is in the light novel and I think she needs to be there for shadow
Chibi jitsu series confirmed Beta's going there, just that it wasn't shown in anime since it was Cid POV after he got transported than what's up with Beta and co. Movie probably gonna elaborate it.
They actually changed it up some, still somewhat of a cliffhanger.

In this show I don't really care about story or plot. Its just a sit back and enjoy kind of show and I just like it to the fullest

LN & manga-wise
The next arc is basically something of an individual arc where Shadow + Beta is in Japan (though the story itself centers on Akane).
Beta's with him. The chibi shorts explained that she's gone too.
Remember the first time cid saved that girl from the kidnappers in S1…in S2 it’s happening again…What’s going on i need answers.
No offense to mushoku tensei season 2,but eminence in shadow season 2 was the best isekai anime of 2023 in my opinion 🤷♂️
I like them both equally just for different reasons like two very different styles but both masters at the styles they went for
I agree, I'm not being offensive either, mushoku tensei s2 was great, but eminence in shadow s2 was insane each episode
Eminence of shadow is like playing on new game plus with all gear unlocked and max buff and just thrashing your enemies.
Oh yes totally Eminence in shadow have broken and subverted so many of the usual isekai tropes. And this final reveal just make it clear which was that deserve the top spot
It pissed me off I think it should've ended a different way!
Nice season. Yes a good direction to make a movie instead of another season.
Trash is quite strong words my guy, i know you mean in a good way but there still a better/nice word to said when the show have it own story.
Do you remember Opening 1 from the 1st season. I feel that they kinda foreshadowed this for them movie
The Eminence in Shadowverse
When i first watched the show ohh yeah another isakei nothing crazy but ooh boi i was wrong this shi is fire and can't wait for the next movie
I think a movie is the appropriate way to handle the Japan Ark.
Indeed. More time to make it and more $$$ for them.
I wonder what magical post apocalypse American is like?
The cult are not only in the 1 dimension a guess
Didn’t the light novel have like 300+ chapters or something? Idk. How much source material is left?
Beta is with him. See the chibi add on episode.
Does anyone know what chapter of the light novel the last episode of season 2 is?
I think it's understandable that they are going with a movie this time around instead of another season. After all in the manga the arc coming up is the lasy finished arc. Sure there's a new arc after that but that arc has barely even started.
Plus after this standalone arc, the next 2 arcs are big ones. If they do adapt it, I hope they give it the proper pacing it deserves as suitable.
Judging by what you said in the video, you didn't seem to have watched the chibi short that came out with today's episode. I won't spoil it but it is REALLY important to watch the chibi short because there is information that ties to the main story.
ive seen it now
I wasn't expecting a movie to come of this but I guess that could work for the next arc.
It is canon yes and takes place between s1 and s2
Cid needs to be saved from himself.
So correct if I’m wrong but basically, the same reason/thing that got the mc to the isekai world is what changed his original world? Cause I was confused asf when she had some glowing collapsible baton😂 I was like I thought the whole reason bro hugged truck kun was to get magic and they got magic what happened but I think I understand now
Truck Kun killing Cid was probably just a coincidence
when will be the movie or they didn't drop the date yet?
As a manga reader I'm a little worried about the ending
A few very important details seem to be different
Some Manga Minor Spoilers below
Cid's interaction with the girl from the first episode is significantly different
Which had more tension from her PoV as it showed the state of things being pretty dire
From a world building perspective not so much from her personal situation
Beta didn't follow Cid into the black hole
this one seems pretty massive as Beta learns Japanese
She also gets into an online flame war with Cid and it's amazing
She's also responsible for a lot of other things that are pretty important that can set up ALOT of future plotlines
the chibi youtube shorts mention that beta went with him. so i'd assume they'll show it in the movie.
Even w/ this interaction in the anime, i think they can still pick up cid as a regular person later on w/ beta and get back on track

@@lolmanawesom thanks.
I am going to read it. Also if you can plz tell me how much story is left for the manga to finish.
@@ayush9202 I think the anime is an adaptation from the light novel and not from the manga
Season 3 please...😁
after the movie
Like the uncle from another world @AHBrandonReviews
what really ticks me off is people calling eminence in shadow "Trash isekai" like what is trash about it? its a masterpiece! and is obviously in the top 10 animes of the season. The movie is gonna be lit!
