Thank you so much for bringing awareness to narcissistic abuse/gaslighting/etc. Its info that everyone should know and that would have saved me a lot of trauma if I had understood it better 6-7 years ago 😅 my ex gaslit me to the point that I was convinced I was out of touch with reality when he was an unmedicated schizophrenic who was actually, in a clinical sense, out of touch with reality himself. I even had some education in psychology and should have easily known better, but gaslighting can be incredibly powerful and “when you’re wearing rose colored glasses, all the red flags just look like flags”. I’m glad I learned to recognize those kinds of people, even if it had to be the hard way. As soon as I saw someone treating me and other people that way at my last job, I got myself the hell outta there asap. Its so important to learn to recognize the signs so we can protect ourselves from abusive people. Keep being you and keeping it real, we all appreciate you 💚🪴
Gaslighting is no joke! I'm sorry you went through that. Mine had me convinced I was the problem for 10 years!! Then I met David and realized I wasn't the problem, and he went on to date someone absolutely terrible lol. I wonder how that's working out for him 🤣

I’d just like to say that I have gotten many gorgeous plants from Urban leaf shop.. their higher end plants mostly anthuriums have been amazing. New leaves all the time, crazy rooted and flowering. 🤷🏻♀️
My Syngonium and Philodendron have been perfectly fine too. Seems to be a Hoya issue and them not growing them out themselves. Also, the way he handled the situation with myself and many others, is unacceptable. You're lucky you haven't had any bad plants, because if you ask for a replacement or what's even going on with the plants, you won't get any resolution. My original messages where I tried to resolve it, and his responses, are in my livstream if you'd like to see for yourself. Not bashing anyone here, I'm just sharing the truth and letting peoples voices be heard!

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I purchased plants from a store, in person, a while back. They looked healthy and amazing. About a week after I'd had them home they all started to decline. I decided to have a look at the roots. All of them were unrooted cuttings that had been put straight into soil. After a bit of a battle I was refunded.
I hope yours grow after the care you take to rehab them.
That happened to me at a local shop too. Paid $40 for a potted plant and when it declined I checked it out, they were just cuttings in soil 🤦🏻♀️
They were overpriced anyway, so I rarely went back there.
After you recommended the urban leaf shop and hearing about the actions I went in and looked at their website but I did not order. I did go to the Plant Farm that you recommended. I loved their website and ordered a Hoya Sarawak Pink. She is a beautiful healthy fantastic plant! Thank you for all the hard work you do and keeping us informed. I’m so sorry to hear about your plants, but I know they’re in good hands and if they can be brought back you’ll be the one to do it.
The plant farm never disappoints with the quality of their Hoya!! Many of mine are from them!
Thank you again for keeping it real. How could anyone think you’re making it all up when you’ve opened the boxes in front of the camera? Unbelievable! I unfollowed and will just continue to buy my Hoyas from my favorite sellers and/ or trustworthy people.

Yup, I bought 6 plants and a wet stick, had no idea about the wet stick and decided to try. Out of the 6 Hoyas noticed a decline after 2 weeks and decided to look into the pot further. I found all had some sort of issues with the roots. Long story short. I assumed the first order was ok when I purchased the second. First 3 Hoyas I pulled out and lots of root rot. Down sized, cleaned and used peroxide and water to help roots. 1 did recover and 2 did not currently trying to reroot. When I realized what was wrong with the first I immediately checked and started rehabbing right away.
First, please don’t feel responsible for recommending when at the time you thought all was good. We all want to think the best of places. Good thing about this experience, finding places that are wonderful and being educated with places that are not. I’m not one to being negative about a place. I just felt a need to share.
Also needed to add, I thought I did something wrong.

This happened to me with an Etsy seller! They had so many good reviews so I went for it and ordered a philodendron silver sword which was a big wish list plant. They even had a choice of multiple plants to pick from. Mine came within two days of shipping and it wasn’t cold out. The pot it was in was MASSIVE and the plant kept flopping so I took it out and there was an inch worth of roots. In the listing it said “xx inch” pot of philodendron silver sword. Basically I paid for a big pot full of crap soil and a cutting. Luckily I managed to save it with decent soil mix and I’ve now taken cuttings and started to fill out the pot

So glad I never bought anything. Obviously this is why they do auctions. Make as much as you can before the buyers catch on to what’s going on. Also, my mother has always said some plants like tight shoes if a plant likes to be snug in a pot or wet feet if the plant prefers damp roots.

I'm confident! I've rehabbed many Hoya imports that were worse off than these. It's just disappointing.
I just watched someone else’s video mentioning this seller. She too received Hoya in bad condition and the seller wasn’t cooperative and/or nice.

I purchased an anthurium from them and several days later I received a message saying I was going to have to pay for shipping because the free shipping was an accident. When I shop I calculate the price for the plant all in to see what ones are the best deal. That plant had little to no roots when I got it.

Oh noooooo! Not the khroniana black....it WAS so beautiful when you first got it. So not only does he not know how to pot roots into the appropriate sized container....apparently he doesn't know how to take care of established/ rooted plants for all those roots to be rooten. What a dope!

It sounds like that company has bad customer service and this is going to hurt their business. A lot of people watch UA-cam videos and the word gets spread about which companies not to purchase from. My favorite shop is Unsolicited Plant Talk. The Hoyas arrive in excellent condition and are packed well. I very rarely shop anywhere else. I hope your plants root and survive.
I'll have to check them out! And unfortunately many people don't complain or leave bad reviews, so he keeps getting away with the scam 🤦🏻♀️

I purchased a picture from a big box store. 2 days after I bought it the leaves were curling even though the soil was wet. I gently flipped the leaves to look for pests and one after another the leaves pulled out of the soil. 10 out of the 15 vines were literally recently cut cuttings that were stuck in the top of the soil. Not even a nubbin of root yet. I paid full price for what I thought was a lush full trailing hanging pot. 😤

You have to be super careful on Etsy! I reccomend reading all the reviews, and making sure they have a good amount of them. It's also wise to reach out and ask a question or two to feel out the seller first! Once you find some good ones, just stick to those!

They're not on Etsy. The shop is called Urban Leaf Shop.
I assume the worst from people, so I'm always skeptical of buying on etsy.
It's definitely important to look at reviews on Etsy and even reach out to the seller. If I don't get a response, I probably won't buy 🤷🏻♀️

Just sounds like someone who saw dollar signs with selling highly sought after plants but there’s no love for or knowledge of them at all. Sad really.

Wow! You got shafted big time! I have received plants that were not imports but arrived with pests. Both companies made good on it, offering a replacement (of the same, or other of the same price range) or refund. I truly wish you the best of luck with that disaster. You just friggin rock. My brother's wife is a perfect specimen of a gas lighter and narcissist rolled into one. Not fun. You go girl. He's a d* ck.
Apparently his policy is absolutely no refunds or replacements. Which was never once disclosed in any live auction or stated before invoices were sent out. When thats the case usually don't buy, plus they know I'm unboxing them with you so people are usually eager to make things right and not look bad. He chose looking REALLY bad lol.

I think you lost your PayPal claim because technically the seller was ok oh his part. He sent the plants and you received them and had them in your care for a certain amount of time. Same thing happened with a shop in my city. The roots were all rotted but I checked them like 2 weeks after I got the plant and according to their rules I had a max of one week to complain for any problem. So lesson learned. Always check out the roots of newly acquired plants...
He knew right away. He just kept blaming me instead of taking responsibility.
I'm still so frustrated by this lol. But you're right, the more I think about it, he probably was like, the plant was delivered and it was fine 🤦🏻♀️
@@jaclynns.jungle I can totally understand! Unfortunately with plant purchases there is no guaranteed protection from apps or services that are not specialised in them. There is a great opportunity for scams like the one with seeds on ebay or etsy. You are in the hand of the shop owner or shop policy. If they are pro positive than they can give a very nice costumer service because they know very well the different factors involving selling plants. On the other hand if they want, they can take advantage of the fact that all they need to do is send the product, and if it came to you ok, than it doesn't matter the health of the plant or if it dies after 2 weeks. ☹

Moss is a horrible option for hoyas
That's your opinion, and I respectfully disagree. Most Hoya collectors would agree that moss is the best way to re-root struggling Hoya. I've had great success with it for imports. Sorry it hasn't worked for you.
My Hoya root fine in moss. I think moss an water are the best. If it’s dehydrated, water for sure.
