Why dose people get on here to bash a honda?? The guy had a problem then he fixed it and is trying to help out others with this quad so go some we're else.
I've been a ride red or die guy for 40 years. But Honda is slipping out of the #1 spot for any dirt sport vehicle. I just bought a 2007 450r and it is a pig. Bog city and just won't get going. But alas here's my solution. Works here in Az. 1) open up the bike by removing the air box lid or bore 2 2" holes in the lid. 2)un cork the pipe. Take off the rear three bolts remove the core. Remove the center muffler section but keep the spark arrestor and re install it along with the gasket and outer cover, red lock tight the three bolts. 3)remove carb and replace main jet with 170,pilot left the stock one(it starts and idles fine) completely plugged the leak jet. 4)File and touched the front of the squirt jet in the intake to open and reshape the squirt jet to better atomize the fuel. 5) 3/4 turn out on push rod for accelerator pump 6)Then took it out and ran the piss out of it. :) Some of you might need to only change out your accelerator diaphragm. The fuel in different parts of the country has additives that eat rubber or make it soft or gooey. Check yours before attempting what I did. Could be your whole issue easy ,solved.
I reccomend buying an FMF power up jet kit. The needles, and assortment of jets/ instructions that are included are more likely to fix jetting issues with less trips to the dealership.
It actually doesn't run as well with the airbox lid off, it starts to lean it out to much again. And the leak was actually far too big. I talked with quite a few people with this quad and the dealership and all have said the same thing that the leak jet in the bottom of the float is too large, so it pulls the gas out of the float too quickly causing it to go rich and bog before going lean when it tries to pull more from the float. Anyways, this is what everyone recommended for a fix and it works
Heyy ! i just Got My Trx450er Fixed & Im Having Problems To Hit Top speed Or during Each Gear i Can't Rev A gear With Out bogging out ..? please Help ?? Any Suggestions. ??
And maybe in the country you're in you can't get them but you can buy the complete jetting kit that comes with several needles springs Jets but it isn't cheap depending on what you get it $160 to 260 depending on which setting kit you actually buy
I need help I have a 08 Honda trx450r with stock exhaust and it I took out the baffle. It used to have a full find exhaust with 128 main jet and I installed a stock exhaust and I put a 122 main jet and it bogs when I hit the throttle. I was wondering if I need a bigger main and slow jet?
Is it all stock or is it modified? I would bump the leak down to 55 cause that seems to be the cause of the bog whether we're talking about the Trx450r or Crf450r for that matter. The 70 leak is just too much. As for the 170 and 48, that's fairly big if you're running a stock motor, but a lot of people seem to do that. Right now I have a White Bros full exhaust and no air box lid and I'm running that clear up to 180 main and 50 pilot. Also I'd recommend an adjustable AF screw.
very cool i have a 06 trx with the same problem, the jets that came with my 450 seem alittle on the big side to me they are 170m, 48p and 70leak. If the quad is at idle and you WOT it wants to quit same with riding it and gunning it at once. think it's my main or my leak? or both.. or all 3 lol im confused really.
I have a 06 trx450r and it lacks top end power like it takes a while to get up to speed I have a motoworks sr4 slip on exhaust I don't know what it could be and it also bogs
i have a 05 honda trx450r and it takes a few kicks to start and once the bike is running u have to rev it so it wont shut off as soon as u let go of the gas it shuts off also it leaks gas so if u can help me and tell me whats wrong
As far as I know it's different on the FCR. There's the main jet and pilot jet in the normal spot, and one more jet which I thought was the leak jet, but when I picked it up it actually is a fourth jet in the bottom of the float bowl. I'm not sure what it is on other carburetors, but that's what I know about this one and when I asked for a leak jet they gave me something about the size of the tip of a pen with threads on the top not the bottom so it's not the same as a pilot I know that.
Hmm. I don't know much about the 150f, I doubt it has an FCR carburetor, but you may try cleaning the carburetor and looking up some jetting suggestions for it.
IF your quad is stock, throw the airbox lid back on and go to your dealer, get those jets that I mentioned. Idk your elevation but that would effect it too. If those don't work do the following in this order, check the adjustment on your throttle cable, shim the needle jet a bit (buy shims from the dealer), get an adjustable fuel screw, and if all else fails also look into getting an accelerator pump. You can also try cleaning the carburetor and stuff like that. From what I understand, the bog is caused by not enough fuel getting into the engine, while there's too much sitting in the float bowl. So that's the reason why I say put your airbox lid on. In some situations, the airbox lid removal is recommended because the jetting change made is too much for the quad and it becomes too rich, so the airbox lid removal leans it out. However, the bog is caused by it being too lean, so if it's lean to begin with and you take the lid off it just makes it worse. I would start by setting everything to stock, then add just the 162 main and 55 leak. If that doesn't solve your problem start playing with the other suggestions I gave you. And if your quad isn't stock, you're in a whole different boat and I can help you with that but any of my suggestions here will not apply. For instance, with my full pipe added, packed extra tight, and my airbox lid off with the green wire cut, I now bumped my jetting to 180 main and 50 pilot with three shims on the needle jet and an adjustable AF screw added with 1.5 turns. So it really all depends on your quad and the situation it's being jetted for. Best of luck and sorry for the novel but I hope this helps! I had a hell of a time with jetting cause I could never get ALL the info I needed so here's what I've compiled!
@BWRProductions I'm having similar issues with mine. I just picked up an 08 450er with an aftermarket full exhaust and also an aftermarket air filter with the box completely removed. It bogs about half throttle mid range but clears when I open it. Naturally I assumed it was a jet issue. I just bought a stage 2 Dyno jet kit a Yoshimura full exhaust system and a pro design air filter but haven't installed any of it yet as I'll be moving to Utah and the elevation change will affect the jetting and I only want to do it once if possible. I'll be at 5000 feet. Was hoping I could get your input on this? Should I also buy an airfilter box? Thanks for any help you can give.
Nope, you'll want the 55, but you need a bigger main and pilot. I really don't remember what I ran with a full HMF, but I want to say it was like 168 main and 50 pilot. If you go on their website they have jetting recommendations, and if you can't find those there's plenty of people on Facebook or forums that can help you out.
Well technically you can, but you'll actually lose power by doing so. It should be removed to compensate for the increase air flow out of the motor. If water and debris is an issue and you're uncomfortable removing the lid, look into an Outerwears. There's custom and aftermarket lids or filter covers that keep water and dirt out, depending on how much protection you need.
You went from a 120 to a 162. Thats a hellava jump, you'll def need that lid off now. In your last vid you took off the airbox lid with your small 120 main jet in this cold weather, so you were way lean a few days ago. And that leak jet, aka pilot jet was also lean, and IMO thats was the cause of your "bog", which isn't a really a bog. A bogging sound indicates a rich condition. When you give her a shot and she stutters like yours, that is a sign she's lean. Cold weather also clues towards lean.
my 2008 450er does that shit so im gonna jet it like you did and see if its the same with mine it rele bothers me that it does that bc its hard to bust her up in a wheelie sometimes but i can usualy roll it out in 3rd and wait till i get past the little fuck up then smash it and it will stand up
You need to specify your exact elevation because it matters when you're getting the carburetor and your recommending people to change their Jets to what you said but you're not telling everybody what's your elevation is cuz you're going to fuck up somebody's bike like that somebody's going take your word and run their bike lean and burn it up when changing elevation you need to adjust the metering Needle on the slide is more important than changing the jet
Why dose people get on here to bash a honda?? The guy had a problem then he fixed it and is trying to help out others with this quad so go some we're else.
Thank you, that's exactly how I feel.
Hondas are way more reliable than yamaha

Yeah u have no idea what your doing 💀💀
@@marshallfritz3795 Well I have been doing it while you were shitting green in a diaper. Read your plugs and test test test. More you say.
I reccomend buying an FMF power up jet kit. The needles, and assortment of jets/ instructions that are included are more likely to fix jetting issues with less trips to the dealership.

My trx450r it's 2014 fully stock I have bog too!

what about 35 leak jet ?
When you press gas whose sound it is??? When in low rpm there is no bad sound.
very cool i have a 06 trx with the same problem, the jets that came with my 450 seem alittle on the big side to me they are 170m, 48p and 70leak. will you make a video of how wires are ran from solenoid to starter
A TRX still have a problem with dropping the intake valve
I'm still subscribed? I just got both your videos in my subscription feed today actually!
I have a 06 trx450r and it lacks top end power like it takes a while to get up to speed I have a motoworks sr4 slip on exhaust I don't know what it could be and it also bogs
Camaro Man you still using a lid?
Air box lid?
Camaro Man yes
I have a chunk cut out of it
which jet are using? I have the same setup and it breaks up on the top end almost like it's hitting a Rev limiter
Do u like the 06 trx?? I need some tips idk what i should pirchase?
I see. Is a leak jet the same as a pilot jet ?
all 450s come from the factory lean for emission purposes. yfzs are bad for that too.
are you running a stock air cleaner?
I have one now, White Bros Aluminum Pro
i have a 05 honda trx450r and it takes a few kicks to start and once the bike is running u have to rev it so it wont shut off as soon as u let go of the gas it shuts off also it leaks gas so if u can help me and tell me whats wrong
You have to use the choke

alright, thanks!
I put in a dyno jet kit on mine and it still bogs out... I did the air box modification and the same ...any tips

55 pilot you mean?
Awesome!
I change mine back to .. A 42 & a 145 main jet & it's doing that ..
Nice job
