I have had my Cricut for several years now and been intimidated by layering more than a few layers. after watching your informative and helpful video, I just layered 6 layers and it is a beautiful shirt! I am ready to tackle anything now! Thank you so much! Have a wonderful Holiday Season!
Thats awesome!! Ive had my air2 a few months now. I've done mannyyy single layer. I make my son a shirt a week lol but I've never done more than 1 layer. I'm going to after this . I have a bunch of pokemon svg I bought off etsy that I want to use.
I just opened up my Cricut today. I have been watching tutorial video's for the last 5+ hours. This by far, has been the easiest, and best video for layering! Thank you!
I have been pulling my hair out with a design thinking I couldn’t layer htv on top of each other. Back to the drawing board with great skills now. Thank you!
I find this video better than another video I watched from someone else. You explained more better on the layering the vinyls and why in each steps. Thank you. Hopefully my next layering project will be better.
This was a great tutorial. I just attempted my first layering following your instructions and my T-shirt is amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing this information.
This was fantastic! I’ve only layered one project and after washing, all my layers peeled. I totally over-pressed!! Because of this I never attempted another laying project. Gonna try another one after watching this!
Thank you so much for this video! I bartered some work for a Scan N Cut from a lady who didn’t want to take the time to learn how to use it. I’ve had it for about 3 yrs and just recently started trying to use it for HTV. There is almost zero videos on how to use that brand, but this video is so helpful I think I can knock out some Christmas gifts. Also, I think I’m going to put a Cricut on my wish list!
Exactly what I needed today. I didn't know that the Cricut separated the colours. I was using the "hide eye" buttons. This is so much easier. New Cricuter. XO

Before I cut a multilayer design, I'm careful to slice away underlayers (e.g., cut the sprinkles out from the donut, the white irises out from the eyes, etc. This provides exact placement for every layer, without the extra bulk of multiple vinyl layers
Yes, definitely a good suggestion Brenda! I do that most times also, but that can be intimidating for beginners. We have a follow up video planned for more extensive layering techniques. Thanks for watching! -Becky
@@76artsychic HTV comes with its own transfer tape, but it's not one that you can remove the pieces from one carrier and put it on another. One of my process steps is to cut a paper stencil for placement. (This is done by attaching/welding all pieces to make them cut as a single layer, single color, and cutting that on light cardstock.) I'll then layer my weeded HTV on top of each other for placement. Then I'll position the stencil on the garment and, from the lowest layer (largest pieces) up, tack down my HTV (5-10 seconds), peel the carrier sheet, and apply the next layer. Once I have enough placement to be sure of my other pieces, I'll remove the stencil. After the last layer, I'll put a Teflon sheet over the entire design and press it for the entire length of time for the design. riffingoffcrafttrends.blogspot.com/search/label/delayering riffingoffcrafttrends.blogspot.com/2019/01/working-with-vinyl-scraps.html

THANKYOU!! Ur tutorial was so simple, straight to the point & defs leaves me feeling much more confident about the whole process🙌Great job girl! U got a new subscriber for sure❤
I had a question regarding the actual step of transferring the image to the actual paper. The actual vinyl can you go over that part how to do the design in the cricket after you created after you make it how to put the vinyl in the cricket thank you so much.
I get my HTV from Amazon. Can you tell me what the brand name of your htv is for layering? I'm new at this and want to do cool layering bags and T-shirts. Thanks!
Wow! Literally the first video that has talked about the shrinkage issue!! Thank you! Also the temperature you used is 320 and the Cricut heat press guide says 315… i feel like when I layer w 315 degrees I have to press for at least 15 sec to get it to stick… I’ll try your temperature next press! Thanks again
You will want to measure your shirt, for each shirt size you will want to adjust your design accordingly. For instance, a design size that would be great for a kids shirt would not fill the space on an adult shirt.
Are you using the highest temp the htv goes so you can do only short sec burst? Like if the vinyl temp is 305-320 for 15 secs, you do 330 for 5 secs or 305 for 5 secs?
Following Crystals advice I always check what is recommended by the producer and just do this temperature. It takes some trial and error because for say Siser easyweed I only do tack down for 2 seconds and for Cricut I found it needs 5 seconds to stick - Agata
Hi Amanda! The Attach tool keeps your shapes in the same arrangement when you send the design to the mat to cut. The shapes are still separate pieces, but their layout is frozen in place. The Weld tool unites two or more separate shapes into one single shape. Hope it was helpful - Agata
Hi! Great video, Just curious did you have your circuit design space on a laptop, desktop, or tablet? I want to make sure I buy the right computer to fully use the design space. I want to try to layer on 3 colors an only 2 will be on top of each other so this video is perfect. Thank you!
hi! so im new to everthing and ive been trying to watch different tutorials but i have one question, when layering how to you cut each piece all at once or seperatley ?
It depends on your cut area and the size of the pieces. You can put multiple different colors on your cutting mat (in different places) to cut at the same time. However many times you will need to load in the individual colored sheet on the mat, one at a time.
Very helpful and an easy watch. I always use you guys when purchasing my svg files. I am wondering are there certain days of the week that you upload free designs? Or is it just at random? I feel there is only camping designs that are the newest. Wondering if we could switch it up to Halloween or Fall? Thanks for all the free designs. Eagerly waiting to see what’s next. What brand of vinyl do you recommend?
Teflon sheet...can I use butcher paper in place of this?
When I layer like this the layers not adhered to the shirt peel off after just a few washes. Any advice?
If your HTV is meant to be a cool peel (I.e. the paper studio brand I have), would you still warm peel as you layer?
I would follow the recommendations of your HTV. If it is meant for a cool peel, I would just cool peel each time. 😊
