yeah, that is definitely a challenge. I try to develop a habit of pocketing it each time so I don't lose it. Doesn't always work. Been using these for a year now and I've lost one so far LOL.
They say that normal tire valve covers can be used to replace any missing caps. Very useful tip Tom. Those of us outside the US are also hampered by EPA ideas.
THANK YOU TOM!!!! I tried to put gas in my classic car in the garage and it turned into a half day deal because of these idiotic new gas cans. And yes they are 100 times more dangerous than the ones from the old days. (yes I'm old enough to remember LOL ) I'm all for safety but when the safety device is more dangerous that the original easy way it doesn't make sense. The vent is good but it's still challenging to find a filler nozzle for the other end. Just a simple flexible tube. Thank you for the tip! I will definatley take your advice! Thank you!!!
Sadly I am prone to setting things on fire... But I am so glad you shared this. I didn't realize how bad modern gas cans filler necks were until recently
I also purchase aftermarket nozzles that dont have the stupid safety features on them. My local automotive store carries them as well as amazon Im sure.
I'm jealous! The last of mine died or got lost somehow when I moved a couple decades ago. Ah well. Hold on to yours like they're gold LOL! Thanks for watching :)
From the 3 videos i watched on your channel i think i will stick around, i have a question for you though, what is your opinion on diy cell signal antennas/boosters? Do you have any recommendations for cheap signal boosters?
DIY boosters? I don't have much experience with them to be honest. I have and use a Weeboost cell booster that works quite well. Before buying it I had looked around on the interwebs for something less expensive but only found some pretty rudimentary home-brew solutions that didn't come with any measured effectiveness.
Mandated to prevent escape of evil evaporation of fuel out a vent. Creates an evaporation disaster from 1/2 quart of unvented, sloshed fuel all over. Not to mention the potential combustion hazard. Thank you CA EPA.
Big oil loves these requirements! More fuel is spilled because of this nonsense. I guess I'm not dumb enough to figure out what these features are saving me from (since my older vented cans still work just fine)
My gosh. Finally a quality metal vent conversion. You nailed it. Zero thought to the laws of physics. Ordered 2. Thanks.
Dude you’re so freakin funny with your dry humor. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, Tom. I just ordered some of those unauthorized factory modification devices. Now my gas cans will allow me to be neat and dry!
Thank you Tom excellent tip! The only thing I would possibly improve is some sort of tether for the cap so it doesn't get lost.

A wonderful upgrade. Thank for the practical tip. I have upgraded all my cans now.
Just good old fashion common sense. I totally agree with your thinking.
In addition to the vent, you can also use a replacement spout to eliminate all the clap trap.
hell yeah! done and done :). Thanks for adding this!
What a quick useful tip. Thank you.

Thank you good sir.

Great idea Tom!
Enjoyable and true.
Perfect my friend!!
thank you
Brilliant!

“Train wreck gas can experience” could not describe it better 🤣
Great tip. Thanks man.
This is some spot on shit. Thank you!
Can't wait for a long term review into how the Orings hold up.
Thankfully I still have several of the non-stupidly designed cans. Never bought one of the new ones. Never will.

The best is old civilan tanks or miltary Jerry metal can hold fuel longer and better the the junk plastic. Mill surplus cheap
no doubt. Got a few old jerry cans and love them! But, if you have these plastic ones, I figure may as well modify them too to be a little better :)
Concerned. The water can had EPA modified pour!? Needed a vent!? OMG!! the horror!! 💧 🚰
I wish someone would offer a one way valve so you don't need a cap.
Ha. I just wish they still sold the old jerry cans :-)
Fill it up with water before you drill
Good tip!
I spilled more gas with these new cans than ever before. They’re useless.
I completely agree. I've spilled more and over filled stuff because the huge gush that comes out when it does happen to "vent" at the wrong moment.

You can get 6 for 12
