These are one of my favorite natives. I have clusters of these growing on my property here in the Philly area. So cool and great video.

I have one growing for the first time! I'm pretty excited! They are such a unique plant! My garden isn't all that wet, so I hope it can survive! I didn't realize they were so tall! Does the foliage stick around, or die back?

Hi. The foliage should stick around if they have moisture and the flowers will give way to beautiful red seeds. Nice fall color! Good luck and thanks for the comment.

I have a lot in the woods around my home. Some are very large. Just a note, it’s poisonous, but apparently edible if cooked properly. Not that much Denver risked it!

Great video! About 5 or 6 weeks ago I discovered one growing along a back road in an isolated hollow by my house. On the hillside above they are putting in a fracking well, and are going to widen that road. So most of the plants are going to be destroyed. I dug it up and planted in a shady spot in my garden. The 'pulpit' part of the plant died off about a week or 2 after I transplanted. But the rest of the plant is alive and seems to be doing ok. Do you think it will come back next year even with that part that died off? Not very familiar with this plant so wasn't sure. I hope it does though!
I also brought some wild geraniums, 2 different types of ferns and a few other types that were growing there. One being Fleabane Daisy. Not sure on the 2 different yellow ones and white ones I also dug up.
