Eyed hooks , erm i suppose they could be tied using this type of jig . but i have been experimenting on a jig for tying longer rigsfor the rivers using the knotless knot as this is designed for eyed hooks, and will publish this soon. I will have to give it a go with eyed hooks on the jig, tying them in the same way as i would with a spade end hook. daz
It was a case of making a hook length with a known length of line and then deducting the finished length off, this showed me how much line would come through the tyer when it was finished. Say the distance between the loop end and the tyer is 4", and the finished hook length is 6" I know to get a true 4" hook length the space has to be 2". Hope this makes sense . Daz
It was quite easy realy, i made a jig with the hook tyer and a fixed pin at a known length apart and tied a hook, the difference in the length of the fixed points and the finished hook length was the amount of line pulled through the hook tyer. I could then deduct this difference from the finished jig, that is why the 3" pin is so close to the hook tyer. daz
brilliant idea !!!!!!! great video WELL DONE
Great video, thanks for sharing.
Add a piece of timber under your hook tyer with two tool clips on top and it will hold your tyer in place perfectly
Thanks Daz will have a go at knocking one up thanks again.
Have a look at the MkII version I put up, it's much better.
Original English engineering, nothing wrong it, it works!

Cheers mate will try this tonight i made similar one to the mk1 but this is much cleaner for the loop boxs
And an eyed hook hair rig?
Good video one question how do you determine distance from hook tyre to pins thanks.

it was trial and error, once i had tied the first hook length i could mark the board where the pins would be at the correct length.
Can I tie eyed hooks like this?
When you first made this, how do you know how far to put the first pin from the end of the hook length tier?

makes sense, thanks.
lot of faffing about ....... use the guru hook length profile in box ?
