    And this week... 🥁 Nicolas will introduce you to Albatross A.k.A Albo. Who’s Albo? For those who missed it: Albo is our Land Rover Defender 110 💥. That same Albo that is going to to bring us around the world for 3 years. 🌎🌏🌍
    But this video for us is more than presenting you a simple car. Why? Because for us it is more like touring our future home. 🚘🔜🏠And that’s how we picked Albo: so it provides what we would need to be able to consider it our home. Thinking about it, we have moved houses multiple times in the past years that it could actually be the place where we end up living for the longest without interruption !
    Our criteria list ? A place to stay warm when it’s cold, a roof over our heads when it rains, some shade when sun burns, a cold shower once in a while, enough fuel and water containers to travel far and beyond and maybe a plug or two to charge our phones 📱(#90skids 🙋🏼🙋🏼‍♀️). Albo is some sort of a condensed version of what of real house could provide. A kind of Swiss knife in fact !
    So enjoy the tour and welcome home - Share some love and ideas in comments to help us make it optimal for our project !
    🛎 This episode is sponsored by our frozen fingers sacrificed to get you this nice snowy scenery for the car visit. 🥶
    ///
    Join us as we travel the world on an expedition throughout the 7 continents, meeting new people, exploring cultures and traditions and making friends along the way.
    We are traveling in our Land Rover Defender 110 which is our full time home for the next 3 years as we explore this beautiful planet.

    Great conversion! The only wrong thing is the sink position, is covered when the bed is open and when the roof is closed.. yes, you can use the external shower… but the access to water must be more useful… greetings from Tuscany 👋👋👋👋

    In this video you were thinking of 1000km on 110l and 1500km on 150l including the jerries: so that is about 10km per liter: how is your actual consumption? especially off road? 10 out of 1 seems very very optimistic in my opinion....

    • @NextMeridianExpedition
      @NextMeridianExpedition  7 місяців тому

      On normal roads we do 11l/100km. and off-road it would depend if there is a lot of elevation gain but we d go to 13/14l/100km probably. but it really varies from a track to another.

    seriously reconsider fuel on the side of the vehicle, you might also want to find out the legislation requirements for such. In the UK, you'd need them to be empty and you'd need extended mirror arms as you cannot see behind you properly. Also most ferries won't allow external fuel cans. So at that point, you might as well store them internally or underslung.

    • @NextMeridianExpedition
      @NextMeridianExpedition  3 роки тому

      Yes in Europe they need to be empty. And surely other countries too. We will only have them on when doing our world tour and they will only be full when we take long distances.
      We have not yet taken a decision on extended mirrors as when the Jerry’s are removed we can see clearly behind. But we’ll keep your feedback in mind.

    • @overlandready
      @overlandready 3 роки тому

      @@NextMeridianExpedition extended arms are part RRC8443, i'd also talk to a few of the Defender driving overlanders for their tips. Good luck in the travels though, I might see you around, although the vehicle and interior seem familiar, met one very similar toy yours a few years back in Scotland. :-D
